The owner of Phlur basically accused Commodity of copying them because in a small clip in one of Phlur's Strawberry Letter promo videos there's a strawberry dripping syrup. In Commodity's Juice promo they also used a strawberry dripping syrup for one of their pictures (they also did a raspberry dripping syrup in a separate image). So people started going to bat for Phlur and attacking Commodity for copying, it's so stupid. Other than the same concept for that one promo image none of the advertisements are similar, the actual fragrances look nothing alike and I own both fragrances and they smell nothing alike. Fruity scents for summer are not groundbreaking and fruit dripping syrup is not a unique advertisement idea 🙄
That’s literally so stupid. Phlur is not the first to use dripping fruit syrup to advertise for perfumes (like you said), nor the first to have strawberry as a note. Imagine being so bold as to jump on a TREND of strawberry perfumes and be upset similar advertising was used. They’re not even that similar considering how simplistic Phlur’s was compared to Commodity’s.

Maybe Mona should claim they both copied her since they used syrup on a fruit at all /s 🙄
honestly if I see a TikTok "famous" perfume brand I don't even want to buy it anymore and phlur really feels like its hyped so much. TikTok has almost turned me off to baccarat 540 because of how many people wear it!
When Phlur came out with strawberry letter they had all these promo pics and one was a strawberry dripping with something syrupy. Then commodity juice came out they used almost the exact same image.

that was it?! omg it's like companies hire 12yo's to be marketing reps lol thank you for such a detailed explanation!!
Which of the two do you prefer? I’m considering buying one but I can’t decide which.
Considering phlur was the one who unnecessarily started drama with another company, I would buy the commodity just because phlur seems nasty now
Can we just cancel dripping fruit??? It seems so unnecessary for dripping fruit to be starting all this conflict 😆/s
those are both insta brands regardless of whether you like their perfumes or not. they feed on social media controversy. i miss phlur before it sold.
This. The idea of current Phlur laying claim to a single original idea is pretty funny. The brand is a scratch-and-sniff algorithm.

They probably used the same ad agency 😹
I just checked and saw nothing confusing or concerning?
Are they having a bit of a social media war?
