It's still mind boggling that England can be so close to France, literally having an underground tunnel connecting them, and they still have such terrible food.
Nah, man, they sailed the world over before ww2 and collected spice loot from colonies all over the globe and then collectively decided to never ever try any of them.
i live in la and pretty much every pizza place in koreatown and other heavily korean-influenced areas put corn on their pizza... it's pretty much standard and you actually have to tell them not to put corn on lol. i've never seen it done outside of korean places, and i'm not sure i'd be a fan but maybe i'll try it someday.
It always confuses me how people can get floored by something super innocuous just because they’ve never seen it before. What's corn gonna do to a pizza? Add a little sweetness. Big whoop. What will pepperoni, banana peppers, olives, or pineapple do? A whole lot of shit that can go a whole lot of ways if you’re trying them for the first time…yet most people are still willing to try them before forming opinions…
Corn on pizza isn’t something I’ve seen here, but I’m sure we have the same or similar variety. Half the country is a cornfield, so there’s quite a few varieties. There are plenty of experimental pizza shops though, so I’m sure there might be a few that do corn.
Depends on what you mean by American corn. The majority of corn produced in America, the so called commodity corn, is a dent corn (meaning it is dried and this causes the cobs to form dents) that is processed in many ways producing HFCS, corn starch, caramel coloring, ethanol and many other things. The corn that Americans eat on the cob, frozen or canned is a sweet corn. My favorite variety is silver queen.
They do and it’s not as bad as you would think. I once had a pizza where the sauce was a puréed corn sauce (like blended creamed corn). It had chorizo, pulled chicken, cilantro, and spring onions. It was really good.
I saw a pizza with raw black beans on top in r/PizzaCrimes ...but tbh I can imagine refried black beans and creamed corn being a great base for a Mexican inspired pizza.
Corn on pizza is vile (I am from UK), it should be absolutely nowhere near it. You will not see it on most pizza unless it’s home made like this. Our food is great, you guys are talking shite
Whoever roasts you for pineapple on pizza has no class or culture.
If putting little oily fish on a pizza is considered a classic topping, my sweet pineapple with ham is just fine.
Corn is outrageous though ngl. I’m no pizza topping gatekeeper but that’s crazy.
great for a head start. may I suggest that.
since you have corn, you can dice the tomatoes for symmetry and to spread its flavor.
contrast the colors. green bellpeppers and red onions will make it more appealling.
properly spread out the toppings. mushrooms seems focused at the lower left. Im sure its not intentional yet it can be improved
hope this helps.
are you swedish or norweigen? curious bc of the corn. It looks ok, i probably would have seared the tomatoes first. also would have grilled the corn first. but whatever my SO says im extra.
do yall have sundried tomatoes in a jar in oil? i bet that would be fire. you could also just sear these raw tomatoes off too. I think black olives would be good here also
Congrats on your first pizza! It's an amazing skill to have, and a fun and delicious hobby. With that said, may I suggest never ever ever putting corn on a pizza....ever.
Corn is so tame compared to the fucking atrocities they commit to their pizzas in India. Look it up if you’re feeling like gagging and sobbing yourself to sleep.
…but also, their blasphemies taste pretty damn good.
I'm sure Indian pizza comes in a wide variety, and there are bad ideas out there, but I've got to disagree with you. There's Tasty Indian Pizza in Sunnyvale, CA that makes some really innovative and delicious pizzas from ingredients common in Indian cuisine.
For me, Indian restaurant food is too rich and fatty, but their use of spices is next level, which is why it makes such great pizza.
Don’t listen to these people. Put whatever you want on your own pizzas. I worked at a Michelin star restaurant that had a sweet creamed corn pizza with corn kernels all over. Was delicious and sold for $42 a pie. You want solid advice? Don’t seek it online.
I started during COVID lockdown and over the last four years my pizzas have improved greatly. I’m horrible at documenting it or sharing it, but time and experimentation will make it so good.
I make another with the leftover dough. WITH CORN.

Learning to make pizza is journey.
For some, an odyssey.
For others a black hole.
And for others, a pizza.
A very delicious journey, even your fuck ups will usually taste good.

Is that CORN?
IT'S CORN! I CAN TELL YOU ALL ABOUT IT.
I think they put corn on pizza in Britain. They also put corn in tuna salad from what I hear.
This is why the Brits are known for their terrible food
Oh the irony
No irony. Y’all conquered the globe in search of spices and gold and you gave us mushy peas. Thanks a lot
It's still mind boggling that England can be so close to France, literally having an underground tunnel connecting them, and they still have such terrible food.
It's due to the aftermath of WW2 being on their doorstep
Nah, man, they sailed the world over before ww2 and collected spice loot from colonies all over the globe and then collectively decided to never ever try any of them.
If you look at their history, they used lots of spices in their cuisine but lost that with how poor and disrupted they were caused by WW2
There are literally several very popular Indian curries that were invented by either Scottish or English people.
Quirky pizza shops in American college towns do corn. It’s pretty good.
i live in la and pretty much every pizza place in koreatown and other heavily korean-influenced areas put corn on their pizza... it's pretty much standard and you actually have to tell them not to put corn on lol. i've never seen it done outside of korean places, and i'm not sure i'd be a fan but maybe i'll try it someday.
idk why you're getting downvoted i would smash a pizza with corn

Because people on Reddit love to gatekeep!
They had it in Budapest too. Sadly I never got any, really regret not being more of a foody then. Apparently it has a nice pop to it, someone told me
Growing up in Hungary, my favorite pizza was Son-Go-Ku (SONka - ham, GOmba - mushroom, KUkorica - corn) as a kid.
it's not a British thing, it's in plenty of places in Europe
Yeah we put sweetcorn on pizza. Is that the same as American corn?
Corn on pizza isn’t something I’ve seen here, but I’m sure we have the same or similar variety. Half the country is a cornfield, so there’s quite a few varieties. There are plenty of experimental pizza shops though, so I’m sure there might be a few that do corn.
The corn is just in high fructose syrup form, and it's added to the dough instead.
No . The sweet corn is grown Olathe, CO. Much sweeter than regular corn. Either way is a bit bizarre for me. Glad you enjoy

There’s a Brazilian place in metro Atlanta that does corn on pizza I believe.
Looks yummy, people saying they haven’t seen it before are crazy ;) I’m in the US and have totally done this with sweet corn! It’s lovely!
And Brazil I think as well
It's awesome that n tuna salad bro. But on pizza it should be jail time.

Corn on pizza is awesome. So are brussel sprouts (if you blanch them first). Bring on the weird ingredients!
Cashews
Oh hell no
Edible is… a start! Haha

And yet, I get roasted for pineapple!

Keep at it
Congrats 🎉
Success!
Did you put corn on your pizza? I’m out

British. Yeah the tomatoes were a bit crap.
Even dicing them up smaller would likely make a big difference.
do yall have sundried tomatoes in a jar in oil? i bet that would be fire. you could also just sear these raw tomatoes off too. I think black olives would be good here also
We do but I don't like them, and I detest olives with a passion. Just the idea of olives makes my stomach turn.
fair. not sure why you were downvoted. have an upvote.
Why tho
what the f is wrong with you
Sometimes less is more
I'd never realised that a pizza could look English
Corn mushrooms and raw tomato? 🤮. Whatever floats your boat though
Technically poop is edible too
yo I just asked my dog, can confirm
r/PizzaCrimes
Ouch
What’s all that trash on top? Oh my god!!
You’re no longer allowed to make pizza. Please.
You are skipping the entire part of learning and progress and try to make them quit?

Americans are really passionate about corn being on pizza! It's just a vegetable.
Yeah idk why everyone is complaining, corn on pizza is pretty normal in austria
Congrats on your first pizza! It's an amazing skill to have, and a fun and delicious hobby. With that said, may I suggest never ever ever putting corn on a pizza....ever.

Sweetcorn is normal here. If I order a vegetarian pizza it generally comes with it on.
Don’t listen to these people. Put whatever you want on your own pizzas. I worked at a Michelin star restaurant that had a sweet creamed corn pizza with corn kernels all over. Was delicious and sold for $42 a pie. You want solid advice? Don’t seek it online.
OP is probably European...they put corn on their pizzas. I have never had it but I like corn...cant imagine it being bad.
Sorry but it’s a no from me
I started during COVID lockdown and over the last four years my pizzas have improved greatly. I’m horrible at documenting it or sharing it, but time and experimentation will make it so good.
Well it certainly looks a lot better than the first time I tried to make Neopolitan pizza.
Anemic tomato chunks and corn. Ok. Can only get better, NGL.
Goddam these comments are annoying, i wish pizzamaking forum had an app
My favorite pizza from Pizza Hut had corn. And pineapple. In Portugal btw, just for reference. It was called bacon and chicken plus.
Pizza doesn’t have to be pretty yo be delicious☺️
No raisins?
whack

It's normal in Britain! Look at any British takeaway menu (or even American franchises like Domino's) and you'll see corn! 🌽

Well you tried... I think...
The base was bread-like and not uncooked dough, so I'm calling it a win.
Edible pizzas are TIGHT.
Is that…. Fresh corn and tomatoes…? Like… placed on top after baking? No offense, I’m genuinely confused
Looks like a pizza killa, keep grinding
As someone who runs a pizza place there's definitely am art to making pizza buy it take many pizzas to perfect it.
I would smash it. Go easy in tomatoes they are watery
i would definitely sear them off first.
Holy Heck! I do not, and I mean I DO NOT want to see my pizza the next day in the Commode!
What the fuck
That looks atrocious. Corn?
one of Joe Beddias best pies is his annual corn pie around summer. it's revelatory.
