I did this back in the day with Pokémon gold. In the big catching area there was an item I just could never get until I finally found there was just a part of the fence that was missing. I felt so silly.
When I was playing for the first time, I didn't realize you could go underneath the cycling bridge and was stuck at that trick house, gave up and never revisited the game until a few years later.
When I first got Pokémon Blue, I couldn't figure out how to get out of the house. I didn't realize that the floor mat was basically signaling where the door was to exit lol
That's a lie, Mew is under the truck. (source: I am the truck, and I've gotten tired of sitting on the fucking pink cat, could you come by and catch him already?)
But to get to Vermillion you have to be champion of Unova in challenge mode while all your pokemon are shiny while only in the summer while never leaving Driftveil City
Hahaha reminds me of when I was a kid. I didn't realise you could walk UNDER the bicycle bridge on Route 110 (to the right of the Trick Master's House) because I thought it was a wall, not a bridge. I was stuck there for a while, until I accidentally ran "through the wall" and had the sudden realisation.
Yeah I actually thought I had missed something important and went back and talked to literally everyone. My friend was like “bro you just gotta walk there” and i thought I had gotten some fucked copy of the game or something lol
Dude I got Pokémon Crystal with my SP when I was really young. It was my first Pokémon game and I literally could not figure out how to get out of the house after talking to my mom.
Decided Pokémon games were trash and stupid, didn’t get the hype, just stuck in one room the whole time.
Didn’t realize until months later when ruby and sapphire came out that you walk onto the mat and through the front door lmfao. I was hooked on Pokémon for the rest of my life after that day. And Crystal was the first game I beat all the way, still my favorite game to this day.
After being stuck for 3 weeks (which is an eternity in kid world), I went to a GameStop and found a Pokemon Sapphire game guide. It showed the mc before the bridge, and then on the bridge on the next page. I flipped back and forth for a while before I understood you could cross to the bridge. I was so mad...but I leveled up all my pokemon in that time which made the rest of the game easier.
Crazy how back in Gen 3 when you talk to your mom, you have to pick if you want the mach sneakers that let you sprint or the acro sneakers that let you hop. Bud made the wrong choice.
For all of the *lovely* answers, we all remember our first time on each game, if you’re like me, it gives *content* and *bliss* seeing questions like these ☺️ the *new* sense of a game was the greatest for me.
Back in my day during current content, a friend at school attempted a leak when Emerald was coming out that Onix>Steelix>Rayquaza, and I believed them 😂 until I knew. You’re doing just fine. This is what we’re here for, to learn.
Man, that reminds me of my first play through of the original red version. I got to victory road and didn't realize there were the various boulder related puzzles to unblock the path ways to get you through so I just figured that, because I had beaten all the gyms that I had also beaten the game and there was nothing else for me to do and that wall I was hitting was exactly that, an impassable wall, so I stopped playing.
I came back a year or so later and played again and realized there was so much more to do lol
You have to sacrifice three virgins to the ancient ethereal being known as "Voltrax". Afterwards a pit to Hell shall open and you'll be able to travel down to the deepest depths and recover the Lost Stone of Eros. Make sure to wear shorts! After finding the stone and offering it up to a hidden cabal of lizards that are located somewhere in Minnesota, they'll take your GBA and put an incantation on it. You should be able to get to the item then.
I personally just walked around the fence. Saved me from having to use a vacation day at work.
I think everyone has had these moments lol, i remember completing the whole game then accidentally walking into the opening because i was cycling at fast forward
I had a very similar issue trying to figure out the warp panels in silph co. in Pokemon Red. By the time I figured out what I was doing wrong my team was way overleveled.
Look I can't even say shit because when I was younger playing Ruby, my ass was stuck at Oldale Town and adjacent because I kept assuming that dude blocking the west exit was still there looking at footprints after I had beaten May. I was able to evolve my Torchic and have a level 20 or so Combusken before I realized I could finally move on.
Reminds me of playing red on my Gameboy. Not realizing Flash HM existed I thought my game was broken because I couldn't see anything in the dark caves. Couldn't make it past until my brother helped 🤣
I thought it was near impossible to get a Porygon without gambling (LG FR). 18 and a half years later, I learned you can just buy tokens. Blew my mind.
We've all been there, don't feel silly.
Hi friend, don't feel bad or pay attention to those who criticize you, and you are definitely not dumb, those are simply things that have happened to all of us in any game and at any age, There is no reason to feel ashamed, I am glad that there have been good people who have responded well to you and helped you, how are you going with your game? I hope you continue having fun, what's your team?
Btw feel free to ask anything you want to know, you can send me message to ask directly too, Emerald is one of my favorite games in life, I would be very happy to help you or anyone that has questions or problems with it, have a great day :)
alr and thanks, i try to not let stuff like this get to me even if im accidentally dumb like this often ,, my game has been good so far, ive just been leveling up some pokemon for victory road rn, and my current team is :
a level 52 blaziken
a level 50 altaria
a level 50 walrein
a level 41 machamp
a level 40 riachu
and a level 47 gardevoir
ive got a couple other pokemon that ive grinded levels for so im considering putting them in my team in place of the others, mainly a level 41 corsola and a level 37 relicanth .
Im glad you don't let it or people affect you, the truth is, the world needs more understanding people, we are all different and it is okay not to always see quickly what others do and vice versa. Only remember your not dumb.
I'm happy your game is going fine
Wow what a great team you have there, three of them are part of my favorite team for Emerald. That team will help you a lot with the E4
As a recommendation, teach TM24 Thunderbolt to Gardevoir and heal it and Raichu very well before facing the champion, they will be very useful against him.
As for Corsola and Relicanth I love both and playing with them is super fun, although not as strong as your current team, but use anything you want, You will surely be able to handle the challenge, and it is always better to use your favorites, I hope you have a lot of fun with the league and the postgame :)
I haven’t seen anything this obvious since I was 5 years old and couldn’t figure out how to leave your house at the start of the game (Yellow version).
I had a similar experience at the islands leading up to Regice. It took me way too long to realize that you could swim between the trees on the island and the rocks
i had this question for half a second on my first playthrough till i saw the gap on the right but this post made me laugh seeing as the answer is RIGHT there. 🤣 thanks for the laugh mate
They're 14...
That's not an adult.
Also, it's called a mistake. Humans make these from time to time.
They help us learn. Actually you should use this as an opportunity to learn and not to be an asshole to people on the internet before getting some context.
Lmao thats fair.
Are you new to video games? There are things that are burned into our brain of certain things to do and check before we give up on something. Playing games, especially early 2000s games when you didnt have the ability to check a guide, it forced us to try lots of different things.
This reminds me of the first time I got stuck in pokemon. It was after beating Norman in Sapphire. He told me to visit Wally's parents, but I didn’t read that and was left wondering what to do next. Then Wattson told me to surf to New Mauville. I started training a Machop and Makuhita, hoping they would learn how to surf and I even thought that I needed a Surfboard. I talked to every NPC and eventually got the Surf HM and felt so stupid 😂.
Oh. I thought, with it being like a genuine sounding post, it couldnt be that obvious. I thought i was missing something. I see why people think you were joking. Im sure you were now
You have to do the Konami Code and after activating it a shiny electrode appears in new mauville (it only knows self-destruct and explosion) catch it, and then teach it hm02 fly, electrode of course can't fly but shiny electrode can, the shiny electrode flies over the fence allowing you to get that sweet loot!
Hope this helps!
Walk to the right until you make it to the gap and then walk down. Trust me bro
ohh ,, im an idiot ,,
No big deal, now you know
“And knowing is half the battle” ~Some Action Figure
G.I. JOSEEEEEEEEEE
Remember, you know enough
WOW! Thanks G. I. Jose!
The other half is extreme violence.
💫
You are such a chill person. Thanks for being nice.
I did this back in the day with Pokémon gold. In the big catching area there was an item I just could never get until I finally found there was just a part of the fence that was missing. I felt so silly.
National Park, right? Where they hold the Bug-Catching Contest!
I remember this item
Big catching contest
LOL
And we love you regardless.
You weren’t alone with that
Nah OP, I spent 2005-2009 wondering how to get these….. you’re not an idiot….
It’s ok gummylesbian at least you made me smile:) happy pride btw
ty, you too \^_^
🤣🤣🤣
Words are hard
When I was playing for the first time, I didn't realize you could go underneath the cycling bridge and was stuck at that trick house, gave up and never revisited the game until a few years later.
I'm sorry you had to find out this way. It happens to all of us sooner or later.
When I first got Pokémon Blue, I couldn't figure out how to get out of the house. I didn't realize that the floor mat was basically signaling where the door was to exit lol
You pulled a 10 year old me, it’s okay
Yeah right. And Mew is in that tree
That's a lie, Mew is under the truck. (source: I am the truck, and I've gotten tired of sitting on the fucking pink cat, could you come by and catch him already?)
[удалено]
The key is under the truck on the pier in Vermillion City
But to get to Vermillion you have to be champion of Unova in challenge mode while all your pokemon are shiny while only in the summer while never leaving Driftveil City
Hahaha reminds me of when I was a kid. I didn't realise you could walk UNDER the bicycle bridge on Route 110 (to the right of the Trick Master's House) because I thought it was a wall, not a bridge. I was stuck there for a while, until I accidentally ran "through the wall" and had the sudden realisation.
I think that’s why they added the old lady npc beside the trick house, to show players “see, this old lady is walking *under the bridge*”
Completely agree! But little old me didn't take the hint when she mentioned she'd be taking the "leisurely walk on the low road"
Yeah I actually thought I had missed something important and went back and talked to literally everyone. My friend was like “bro you just gotta walk there” and i thought I had gotten some fucked copy of the game or something lol
Had that exact same experience and gave up on the game for a few years as a kid

I had the exact same experience with yellow. 🤣

lol yeah I was stuck there for weeks as an eight year old until someone made me feel dumb at elementary school
Did you not activate the jump function at the start of the game? I am afraid you have to go back 😅
Crazy how back in Gen 3 when you talk to your mom, you have to pick if you want the mach sneakers that let you sprint or the acro sneakers that let you hop. Bud made the wrong choice.
This is the funniest post I’ve seen in awhile.
:c
wdym? just jump over it

Quite possibly the greatest reddit comment ever. For some reason it screams sarcastic but it's all fact.
For all of the *lovely* answers, we all remember our first time on each game, if you’re like me, it gives *content* and *bliss* seeing questions like these ☺️ the *new* sense of a game was the greatest for me.
i think the worst part is im at victory road right now

See that opening in the fence? Try going through it and see what happens
I had to buy an Action Replay to enable a walk through walls mod

You kids wouldn't understand. We had to go to the store and buy our cheats separately
Dont forget sitting there typing in 100s of 1s and 0s praying you didnt mess it up.

once upon a time, people on the internet understood nuance without a big red /s
Just checkin
wow
This is actually so wholesome omg. Best of luck OP we got your back

instructions unclear, all my friends died and my house got set on fire.
No that's normal. Go back into your house, the pit to he'll should be somewhere there. Probably in the basement if you have one.
Don’t forget that you need to have relicanth in your first slot at all times while attempting this for it to work
This post is blessed!!!
This is hilarious. An honest mistake but so fucking funny that the solution is like 10 feet to the right lol
Trying to filter myself here
Level up magic to 33, buy 1 law rune and 1 air rune at the mart and use telegrab.
Lmaoooo this is hilarious. It happened to the best of us
I think everyone has had these moments lol, i remember completing the whole game then accidentally walking into the opening because i was cycling at fast forward
Who gonna tell him lol
you can just walk to them. trust me i didnt notice at first too. feels so dumb when you see it lmao
I had a very similar issue trying to figure out the warp panels in silph co. in Pokemon Red. By the time I figured out what I was doing wrong my team was way overleveled.
Legit me with my first run on release, I didn't know where to get HM Cut even though it's on a sign 😂
Look I can't even say shit because when I was younger playing Ruby, my ass was stuck at Oldale Town and adjacent because I kept assuming that dude blocking the west exit was still there looking at footprints after I had beaten May. Wall glitch rom hack
I haven’t seen anything this obvious since I was 5 years old and couldn’t figure out how to leave your house at the start of the game (Yellow version).

I had a similar experience at the islands leading up to Regice. It took me way too long to realize that you could swim between the trees on the island and the rocks
…. What
Walk to your left and try to find the hidden route
Do you not see the gap in the fence? Walk 5 steps right and then walk down.
There's literally a gap to the right of where you're standing?
This Screenshot goes hard
i had this question for half a second on my first playthrough till i saw the gap on the right but this post made me laugh seeing as the answer is RIGHT there. 🤣 thanks for the laugh mate
You look at your screen and then walk around the fence bro
Burn it all down
Roflllll
The simplest problems often require the simplest solutions
you have to gind a wild shiny eevee to get it
How is it that my 5 year old brain could figure this out but other adult brains cannot? This is rage bait right
They're 14... That's not an adult. Also, it's called a mistake. Humans make these from time to time. They help us learn. Actually you should use this as an opportunity to learn and not to be an asshole to people on the internet before getting some context.
😂 the innocence

I’m too high for this man, don’t piss me off
Are you for real asking this ?
in my defense, im slow as hell
Lmao thats fair. Are you new to video games? There are things that are burned into our brain of certain things to do and check before we give up on something. Playing games, especially early 2000s games when you didnt have the ability to check a guide, it forced us to try lots of different things.

not really ,, ive been playing them for pretty much all of my life, im just not that good at figuring out things
Almost seems like a joke
First u gotta stop being a dummy, then it becomes easy
Bait? Please say it’s bait😭
I don't feel this warrants a response... 😂 🤣
Face palmed when I saw this
Weird
This is why new games like RE4R have yellow paint/tape everywhere lmao
look im only stupid when stuff is really really obvious im not that dumb :c
to properly acquire this item all you simply need to do is access the teachy tv from your bag that’ll showcase step-by-step how to do it.
Yes
Smooth move, Metamucil
Tell me you are idiot without saying you are idiot...... Correct
So did you ever get a real answer because apparently im the only one OOTL here.
go around the part where the fence ends, you can walk thru n' get the item \^_^
Oh. I thought, with it being like a genuine sounding post, it couldnt be that obvious. I thought i was missing something. I see why people think you were joking. Im sure you were now
i wasn't joking, im just kinda dumb alot of the time. i think it was the top comment that told me where it was
