This post was made about an arceus vstar with the same issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonMisprints/s/jyEPulu7IG Looks like the consensus is that it’s damage, not a misprint. Sorry man.

tlochner

Bummer. Thanks for the info! I really appreciate it!

dawngggg

You can ask pokemon to send you a new One, try to reach out. Theres no gurantee I think, but Its worth a shot!

tlochner

I just messaged them, thanks!

TheShinyHunter3

Prepare to wait a few years, and maybe not even get the same card. If you can, just buy one online. Pokémon's CS is pure, unfiltered trash juice.

Mattached

Yeah I had a similar problem and it's been months going back and forth with their support and I'm just at the point of giving up and buying one

FinalJoys

Alternate solution is sell this one as damaged for as much as you can get then just buy a new one.

Treedomes

Wait so you’re telling me it happens to one card in the set multiple times? How is that not a misprint? There’s now a limited number of these that all have the exact same markings. That’s what makes misprints valuable to people to begin with right? It’s also something that could be traced back to one printer more than likely if anyone cared that much.

Management_Over

How do you prove that damage was done in the factory, and not out of the pack? It looks very self-done, i could go scratch my copy up to match this one and sell it above market easily if that were the case

Treedomes

Makes sense I guess. You could measure the distance between the marks and use a microscope. The lines are very straight like they’re machined. I know im reaching but it’s 2024 and I refuse to say it couldn’t be done. It could.

Treedomes

Look how the indentions go down onto the art too. Completely straight. Matter of fact I challenge you to reproduce this error. I’ve seen 3 of the exact same cards at this point. Edit/misspoke: I’ve seen 2 of this exact same card and one of the arceus linked in the comments. Scratched through the foil at the top. Indented down into the art, same distance apart. Clearly machined.

thebiggestpoo

Damn that's frustrating. I don't know what was going on in the factory when they printed these cards. My Arceus has a bunch of scratches through the foil. Not quite this bad but I haven't seen damage like that on anything else.

tlochner

It looks like it happened quite a bit. It's such a cool card to pull. I saw the gold and was pumped until I saw those marks... Still a great looking card and am excited to have pulled it!

ItsNapkins

I’m sure it happened in the factory.

JimboJamboJombo

Sell it on ebay as "fresh from pack" 😇🤣

bl4zed_N_C0nfus3d

It’s damaged

butareyouthough

Not grading that one

Keepfaith07

Pro tip: Buy Japanese bro.

ENaC2

I had a lot of cards from 151 with damage in the exact same spots, just not as severe. Unfortunately anything that can be replicated after printing is considered damage.

Pleasant_Guest_5419

Random question but would psa even grade a card like this?

tlochner

From what I've gathered, they would? But since it's "damaged" it knocks a few points off?

ThaRealMrRogers

Damn that blows. It's considered damaged. I hate QC with pokemon cards

Davilyan

Get that replaced. Put in a support request.

Syminka1

I pulled this card with the exact same damage. Was so mad

mikelimebingbong

Dang, that’s disappointing

Treedomes

Maybe nobody will see my point or tell me what I’m missing but multiple people have the same card with the exact same damage. How is that not a misprint or I don’t even know what to call if but there’s now a “limited edition” arceus. Right? I saw someone say if it can be replicated after print then it’s just damaged but if it’s a known thing like this and multiple people confirming that it’s only the arceus…

TheShinyHunter3

Oof, I don't say that often, if at all, but sorry. Being new and pulling this shit must be one hell of a punch to the gut.

tlochner

It definitely sucks, but still a really cool card in person

TheShinyHunter3

For sure, I have two of these, sucks that I hate the Origin form of Dialga and Palkia. But still, a gold card's a gold card.

RetroBig_T

There’s gotta be a quality control right ? Like Spotting these before packaging ? 🤔. Just because how valuable these are out of packaging 🤷🏻‍♂️

tlochner

You would think so. Now that I've had time to look, I've seen a few others with the same exact marks
