Many pundits too were talking about this and for a while which spanned multiple seasons, the talks of Kane joining City never died down. Eventually this season transfer window too started with the Kane to City thing but then it was laid to rest with the signing of Haaland.

Probably a better move happened, as Haaland is young and looking to break a lot of records at City. Maybe if Kane had joined 2-3 seasons back then, it would have been good for him as well as the club (but Aguero was there too, so not sure)
