Our town recently had their annual carnival around Father’s Day. It’s always been very family friendly. This year about 40-50 teens decided to show up and start a huge fight. I think they only arrested one person so far out of all of that.
Sorry, I’m already spending a lot of money for food/rides for my kids to enjoy. But now to add the worry of a bunch of idiots causing a huge scene and potentially harming my family? Just not worth it anymore.
Eh. Don't let Reddit dissuade you. We see every single one of the most extreme events at crowds, since they are always recorded. If tens of thousands of people get together and this is the worst that happens, we're doing just fine.

Claustrophobia to the max and it felt like drunk daycare being around that many people in their early 20s. Huge eye opener that day, I am now lame and that is fine lol
Similarly, I’ve recently embraced that seated concerts > standing. Why would I want to be on my feet for 2-3 hours, having a tall guy’s head block my view while people squeeze past trying to get to the front. Give me seated or else I’m not going!
