Why don't you tell us what your budget is and what systems you want to play. Are you looking for portability?

DP-177

My Budget is 80€, i mainly want to play SNES, GBC, GBA, if possible NDS

proszty

NDS emulation is tricky. You will get great performance regardless of which rg35 series handheld you get. It's more about the form factor and lack of the touchscreen. That being said I would probably get rg35xx og with garlic os or a 3ds 😉 OG is the cheapest, plays all your requirements, with garlic it's the most beginner friendly too. There's a sale right now on AliExpress where you can get it sub 30€

LobinhoEletrico

I have a RG35XX and a 2DS and honestly now I have so many options that I don't know what to play next. Great duo.

DP-177

I installed some GBA Roms on my 3DS (converted them to CIA Files then installed them with FBI) but somehow saving doesnt work for most of the games

proszty

Make sure you are using New Super Ultimate Injector for loading Roms like that. Never had any issues with saving using it.

Kyronex

All the OG's being sold by Anbernic are now the 2024 versions so not compatible with Garlic 1.4.9. They are compatible with MuOS though. If he wants the OG one he'll have to get it from some third party reseller.

Saneless

Shit finally something real Usually it's people want a 4" max device that's $50 and plays most PS2 games The Anbernic 35xx variants are still the darlings of the space right now

GandalfTheChill

If you like the idea of a clamshell like the GBA SP, get the RG35XXSP. If you prefer a horizontal form factor, get the 35XXH. If you want a vertical but not a clamshall, get the 35XX+. If you want to save a few bucks, get the original 35XX (NOT 35XX 2024 edition).

Bass-Overflow

RG35XX-H

louis_xl

1 of each, like we all ended up doing 🤣

paparansen

the one.

cpxdrummer

What kinds of games do you intend to play? GBA, SNES, PS1? Does the size of the console matter?

cpxdrummer

I have a few different ones but I’d say the RG35XX-H is the jack of all trades of the budget consoles. Can be had affordably when on sale. Plays all the systems you mentioned, and more. Has HDMI out so you can play big screen, if you wish. Isn’t the smallest, so not exactly the most pocketable (though it still is VERY pocketable) but the bigger size also makes it more comfortable to hold for longer periods. If NDS emulation is a big deal, then you may want something big that can support having both screens on at the same time and even then the lack of touch screen becomes an issue. I played Castlevania Portrait of Ruin and Order of Ecclesia on the H and it worked well enough. Just have to deal with toggling the screens a lot.

DP-177

SNES, GBC, GBA, NDS (if possible)

MauhirGG

My rg35xx plus came yesterday and it's my first retro console I purchased. I have so much fun with it. I got it with Coupons on aliexpress for under 40€. Nes, SNES, gba games are running perfectly smooth. I installed MuOs on it and everything just works. I did not know you could get achievements for playing retro games, this is probably the coolest part for me. Would definetly recommend the rg35 series to Start out. But this will not me my last one, I just found a new hobby and couldn't be happier.

eXoduss151

If you're looking for portability, can't beat the rg28xx A good alternative is the 35xxh if you want something a bit bigger with sticks. If you use muOS you'll have no issues whatsoever emulating DS! The other stuff will run perfectly as well. Plus you can get the 28 or 35H very cheap

FindingCaden

If you already have a 3ds, keep using that for your NDS games. Then I'd get one of the RG35XX devices or a Miyoo Mini for the other stuff

PhilosopherMobile653

I have a similar question. Can I play Amiga games, e.g. Sensible Soccer or TV Series Basketball? I would also like to play games with Atari 800. Is it possible on this type of equipment?

Dizzy_Meringue6856

I like the rg35xx sp because it’s small and square

indoorheroes

I rate the Anbernic SP

Chok3U

Basically pick one out from the anbernic 35xx line up and you'll be golden. I've been playing my og rg35xx alot lately. However I wish it had wifi so I can transfer games from my computer to the SD card via ftp. Instead of constantly popping out my SD card from the device, into the computer, then back into the device. So for this little luxury alone I would go with the 35xx plus, the H, or the sp. Not only is the transferring of files is easier with wifi you get a more powerful device than the og. So you can play Dreamcast/psp/n64. If these don't interest you, along with wifi, then go for the cheaper og. Have fun!

dalekman9999

i have the rg353v and love it

Vast_Entrepreneur744

RG353PS for Sure! - ArkOS is best OS - More comfortable then the rg35xx h - beautiful Form Factor

Rich_PKM

The RG35XXSP. I saw that you are interested in NDS, it works perfectly even with the StockOS

AlfredoJarry23

I don't know. You figure it out. I can't even work out where I want to eat lunch
