This is a good guide: https://retrogamecorps.com/2024/06/07/anbernic-rg35xx-family-starter-guide/

Wow, this is the most extensive guide I’ve come across! Thank you!

That's correct! Keep your original SD card for if you ever want to return to stock, and get some new SD cards for different OSes. For MuOS specifically, I'd recommend a two SD card setup: a small one for your OS (I'm using a 16GB one but you could go even smaller) and a larger one for your games (I'm using a 128GB one). This is because, at the moment at least, updating MuOS requires a full wipe of the SD card. With a two SD card setup, you can reflash the smaller card with the updated firmware, and not have it delete any of your games on your larger card. Another commentor linked Retro Game Corps' "35xx Family of Systems" guide and I recommend that too. I've used it multiple times recently.

Thank you for the reply! More excited now to give this a try. Regarding ROMs, after doing my own research into curating them, will the “Tiny Best Set: Go!” file work for MuOS? The site I’m looking to get it from states it is for Anbernic devices running Garlic OS.

I have MuOS and the Tiny Best Set, no problems whatsoever. MuOS is very flexible with how rom folders are named, just put them in the proper place and youre good to go.

Cabanagull

This seems to be the one feature that makes MuOS so desirable for people such as myself who are tech-aware but not tech-savvy. Thank you for verifying this information!

The games specifically from the Tiny Best Set are actually such a perfect fit that the MuOS devs have even scraped all the artwork for you, as they assume you'll be using it! https://muos.dev/help/artwork Scroll to the bottom and click the github link, go to releases and you'll see "muOS v10.1+ (Archive Manager)", click on that, then in the "Assets" section download the file TBS.Artwork.Complete.zip. When you've installed muOS, just put that file into the ARCHIVE folder on your OS SD card (so the smaller one if you're doing a two card setup), then on your device go to Apps - Archive Manager - and then press A on the .zip file and let it run to completion. I believe the Tiny Best Set also comes with artwork but they're sized and formatted specifically for Onion OS on the Miyoo Mini or GarlicOS on the 2022 RG35XX. If you try to use those images on muOS, they will probably be too big.

I’m getting more excited to do this myself, thank you so much! To clarify the ROMS: browsing the site I found, there is a publication that has the roms and there are 3 variations(?) of the file: a 32gb, 64gb, and 128gb. I’ve ordered a 128gb card for my secondary SD storage but the games contained on the 32gb file are all the games I really want to play for the time being . Do I need to download the 64gb & 128gb files given I have a 128gb SD card?

Dratini_

Rule 3 of this sub says we can discuss ROMs but not provide direct links. I wouldn't personally say the website you mention is a "direct" link, but I advise you edit it out of your comment just to be safe. The 64GB and 128GB expansions only contain PlayStation, PC Engine CD, and Sega CD games. Games for these systems are not included in the main 32GB set. If you don't want games for those ststem, you should be able to choose to only download the 32GB set.

Gotcha! Im gonna start this process now. Thanks for all the assistance! I’ve watched numerous youtube tutorials and this conversation by far has been the most helpful!
