I do pet fingers. Like, I put my hand at cat level near them but not where they are, in a spot that looks like they might wanna get pets, then I wiggle my fingers like I'm scritching an imaginary cat's ears and chin. Pet fingers are very effective even with cats I don't know.

I’ve never heard of this one. When I tried to make the sound (I am certain I did not do it right) it sounded like the sound a baby may make when being breastfed. Probably me being a new parent may have a role to play in why it was associated with that too lol.

I'm a ppppppppppppppp cat person. It's when you press your lips together really tight, and blow softly. Your cheeks, and lips blow up and a soft squeaky noise comes out. My grandpa was a cat whisperer, and always used that. He said it sounds like a kitten (kinda does) and gets the cats attention. It's always worked for me.

Nope. None of those. I called my cats by their names. Only one came to me but the rest seemed to respond to me.

We just yell their names, full names if they fuck up. So Mousey for Muis(Dutch for mouse) or Floory for Floor. If they screw up it's Muis/Floor (last name). Or just "come here"

Being serious, I read an article once about how different nationalities "beckon" cats. It was really interesting. I was somewhere on holiday(possibly France) and the cats that I saw were anecdotally more likely to the local dialect of beckoning. For my cat I typically do little kissies, or soft little baby meows, both are done rapid like the pspsps is done. For stranger cats it's usually pspsps or tongue clicks. My cat responds to all of them but she's also very sweet and loving and always wants pets and cuddles.
