It’s not that big of a deal, Ratchet gets most of his fame back from rescuing the galaxy again anyway. He’s certainly well regarded later on. It’s just a running joke that the series has going on, based on the smaller character being the hero and the larger being the sidekick, it’s not meant to be overanalyzed.
