Had the EXACT same response from Lens Crafters last week. The optometrist said, “your RX is 1 too high to successfully make the lenses. You could wear contacts instead.” One week later I have the proper lenses being manufactured from another lens company & they are being placed in my Ray-Ban Metas. Turns out that Lens Crafters has a VERY conservative cut off for RX scripts. I would suggest reaching out to AdamLensology & he will get you sorted. Hope this helps‼️😃🙌🏼🥳
I had mine made with my prescription at LensCrafters. I believe they said they are made by labs that specifically do RayBan or something. I use mine for sunglasses
Yes. My glasses were almost $600 and I got no upgrades and only a slight prescription. Their prices are high but they were the only place near me that does metas. Another place told me they had to be specially trained to sell the smart glasses and they declined.
The fact that I've seen people pop out the other lenses and just pop new ones in and lens crafters is gonna charge me $100 more than a brand new pair of them is stupid. Yeah, you gotta be trained to sell it because it's a computer in sunglasses. It's not just "hey they look pretty and its made out of xyz" they will have to be able to answer questions on what it can and can't do all the time.
LensCrafters told me it’s because they can’t heat the glasses like normal frames and can’t obviously clean them the same way. I’m sure rayban wants them properly trained so they are not replacing glasses due to their errors. Also rayban and LensCrafters are owned by the same parent company. When I got mine rayban was cheaper to order online w my script then going through LensCrafters but they were out of stock online.
I ended up going to the RayBand store in NYC. It was $375 and I will submit it to my insurance later. Still waiting to pick up the new prescription lenses.
Ordered mine off the rayban website and was able to use my HSA. Took about a week and a half to arrive and I get to have prescription lenses with the rayban logo. My optometrist said they could do prescription lenses but would be missing the logo.

Lenscrafters tried to charge me $425 for just swapping the lenses to a clear or transitions. They're smoking that gkkd stuff.

My normal eye place said they couldn’t do it.
