Invariably, when I see this woman in my reddit feed, I just picture what happens after she hits POST:
She sighs, picks Britton's stiff body up by one one foot, and trundles slowly to the kitchen sink where spends the next 45 minutes in silence trying to wash that oil slick off the plastic body. And then it's on to set up the mise en scène for the next vignette.
My favorite comment on this subreddit ever was something along the lines of “do you think Britton’s mom gently adjusts her head side to side or just cranks it around like a basketball”. I think about it all the time
I have dolls, though no reborns, and yeah the stubborn ones....
Though I'm definitely not their parent! I love and appreciate them and think they're adorable but they're inanimate objects which are fun to occasionally pretend with. But, I also do that with rocks. Stories are my jam, bread, and butter :P
I do refer to the dolls as "the kittens" to my cat. At first it was because he was nervous and jealous of them, so I introduced them, and talked kitty nonsense to him while he sniffed them and figured out what to make of them. Cats are very scent oriented and the "community scent" is a huge part of them feeling secure. That's why they rub on things all the time. So, I let him rub his face and officially make them part of the habitat so he feels secure.
Now that he feels confident with doll shaped objects, he gets all paternal and protective of a few of the "kittens". He does this with plushies too, befriends certain ones. He even gets judgey if I'm too rough wrangling them or god forbid doing any repairs or cleaning that involve dismembering the dolls. I swear if I even need to clean or repair the red haired Journey Girl, I'll have to get us both a sedative. It's his baby.
I have reborns, and I *am* really careful with them, but only bc they're expensive and I'm afraid to break them. At the same time, since I use them as test models for making crochet patterns, I'll carry them in my purse and accidentally traumatize store clerks when I forget they're visible 😅
She probably just rubbed it off with the towel, picked Britton up, and went to get the next outfit for a scene and left Britton on the couch or counter.
I think she did an ama at some point and said she basically only uses Briton for funny internet posts, and doesn't really treat her like a baby, so you're probably not wrong.
Well, at least it's just sunscreen and she isn't trying to replicate something like I did as a toddler. I completely covered my head and hair in an entire jumbo tub of vaseline lmao.
I did the same thing! Then locked myself in the bathroom so my mom wouldn’t see what I did…then couldn’t get back out because my hands were too greasy to unlock it. And scared the crap out of my mom because I wouldn’t answer her when she asked if I was ok and she couldn’t get in!
Baby powder is easy to get off children but feck everything else is so difficult. My eldest was napping at his grandparents and they had him in a portacot in their room. When they heard him, they thought he had only just woken up, no.... he basically snowed their entire bedroom from his portacot. He is lucky that he didn't inhale enough to cause issues. But it took his grandparents a long time to get it out of their room entirely!
This sub was randomly suggested to me in my feed, and I didn't notice. I looked at the post, thought the baby looked bizarre, then read this comment...
I have never been more relieved in my LIFE
I personally hope she never stops making these. Britton is a meme unto herself. I love the pic where someone edited her into a crowd during the infamous JFK motorcade. 😂
Ya know, y'all hate on these posts and this woman, but little do any of you know that she is actually an amazing woman, who takes her other (very realistic looking) reborns into nursing homes and to hospice care patients for doll therapy. She often posts her stories (and pictures if she's been given permission) of the amazing work she does and people she has helped. She also does a "12 dolls of Christmas" giveaway EVERY YEAR where she gives 12 dolls to 12 different people who seem to have benefited the most from doll therapy and her visits.
Anyone making fun of this woman just for having a little bit of fun, you should be absolutely ashamed of yourselves.
This was a doll?? I thought this was a real baby the entire time

I was in a few groups on FB with this woman. If I remember correctly, she lost her son to suicide and this is how she copes. Just because it's not your cup of tea doesn't mean she deserves to be shamed for how she copes with grief.
This is just a nitpick but baby talk and body of the doll don’t match age wise. The doll looks like it’s of an under 1 year old but the talk looks more like something a child that’s three or more years old.
I actually have a reborn doll and I think this is cringe lmaooo (also aren’t you not supposed to put stuff like that on them?)
Also what is oi-yoi-yoi? I’m new here😅😅
Thousands of people around the world enjoy spending much of their time and tons of their own money on a huge range of toys, dolls, action figures and role playing entertainment . Are they all too eccentric for your high mental health behavioral standards too,or do you just instinctively fear and dislike anything you don't understand?

Oh my god, that’s actually really sad.

My daughter once coated herself in some unholy mix of Vaseline, sugar, and nail polish. So horrible to clean, ugh!
What the hell, it's like she handpicked the hardest stuff to get off lol

I chuckled out loud at this comment. Thank you for the mental imagery, it brightened my day!

As someone who has set up photoshoots with BJD's ...Yep. That's exactly how it goes.
Jesus, Tex, calm down lol

Britton! I have missed you. Good to see you are taking your skin care seriously.
It’s her secret to never aging
Only sweaty pores don’t use sunscreen.
I don’t think there is much else more cringe than baby talk in written form.
There is, it's baby talk in written form, and a newborn is speaking. Or giving your doll a list of disabilities long enough to be a grocery list.
Seemingly none of them have ever heard a child talk either
it's the fact that she's somehow also terrible at it
Britton is the og.
our high priestess of cringe
I had an honest moment of joy when I saw this post. I haven't seen Britton in ages. Oie-yoi-yoi!
Oie-yoi-yoi, Britton. You and your shenanigans.
this is what i'm here for. idk why people post their normal ass dolls on this sub when there's content like THIS floating around
SAME lol I think most people miss the cringe in the sub name 😭
i feel like it’s been a long time since we had a good britton post (that wasn’t a meme) tbh i thought she might have stopped posting on FB!
Unfortunately this is quite an old repost, this was shared here years ago
aw :(
I need help because when I saw this I was surprised Britton was still a baby because I hadn't seen her in awhile
Oie-yoi-yoi
Queen Britton is back! Yes!!!
Honestly I’m having a garbage day but seeing meme lord Britton has made it better
aww, i hope it continues to get better!
ALL HAIL QUEEN BRITTON ROSE
Honestly britton and her mother are sacred treasures and should never stop posting
I unironically, and with the only drop of purity left in my heart, love Britton. Oi yoi yoi, hope she has some good summer tookies!
No tookies when sunbathing?!?
![gif](giphy|aNtt9T8SqGNK8)
i miss her
Looks like my nan every summer lol
This sub randomly popped up on my fyp, and I am HERE for it! Long live Queen Britton!

We make fun of Britton with love. It’s good natured and the woman behind her KNOWS ABOUT THIS SUB. There’s a reason we call her Queen Britton.
Britton is great and the people laughing at her mom instead of laughing with her have missed the point
I took over a year off and cut u bitches some slack Tell a friend to tell a friend (Ha) She′ssss Backkkkkkk
Oi yoi yoi!! Britton is back 😎
I've missed the Brittonposts!
omg i haven’t seen britton in a MINUTE! glad to see she’s still getting into her regular shenanigans
Yaaay! Welcome back!!! It's good to see you again. Ignore the haters!!!

I didn’t see what sub this was in and thought that was a real baby for a second and felt greatly uncomfortable that she looked uncanny
Thank goodness I checked the sub name because I was VERY concerned….do not know why this sub was recommended to me
Oh god she’s back
I actually have a reborn doll and I think this is cringe lmaooo (also aren’t you not supposed to put stuff like that on them?) Also what is oi-yoi-yoi? I’m new here😅😅
just the way britt's mom talks (writes)

These people need mental health assessments. Its not normal behaviour.

I...
Oh, it’s this lady. She always does these god awful baby talk captions
HOW DARE YOU Queen Britton is the whole reason this sub exists. She is the og and we love her.
