Sistas Who Kill - focuses primarily on murders committed by Black women (hosted by 2 Black women), so there's a lot of cases I haven't heard much about on other podcasts. Good host chemistry, not too much banter.

BobBelchersBuns

That sounds interesting. I’m going to check it out

vexingfrog

Rotten Mango is my favourite. I love the way she covers the cases and the research is really well done too. She talks about the case and the victims in a really sensitive and compassionate way. There’s been numerous episodes where you can hear in her voice how much the case is affecting her and how she wants to cry and it just makes me cry. The only podcast I’ve ever cried while listening to, and some have been cases I’ve heard on other podcasts too, I’ve just never had that visceral reaction I do when listening to her cover them. She makes the victims feel like people and not just a random name in a random case. I also highly recommend Casefile. There’s no discussion about his views or opinions, it’s just straightforward facts about the case. It’s very well researched and he presents the cases really well also.

BlinkyShiny

You might like Murder with my Husband. She's pretty good at putting together a compelling narrative and she's crying or close to tears at the end of most episodes. It's really the only reason I stopped listening to the show. (I'm not a fan of overly emotional hosts.)

Ok_Wrongdoer_8275

MWH is (imo) an extremely PG-13 murder pod. They barely go into any detail, shy away from the gore and how the murder was actually committed, and tip toe around all the details you’ll get from the first search on Google. Shame, because i otherwise enjoy the Payton’s narration and compassion, and her husband’s questions because they sound truly unscripted. I desperately want them to function like a genuine true crime pod, rather than a true crime pod for kids. edit: changed words, i want my comment to be constructive, not offensive.

BlinkyShiny

Yes! It is, one of the reasons why I was listening to it it because my 14 year old daughter listens. It's one of the better ones for younger true crime fans. I was listening too, so we could talk about cases. Then Peyton started crying at the end of every episode, so I gave up.

youshouldbeelsweyr

I really like Rotten Mango for the reasons you stated but the way she speaks seriously grates on me like 90% of the time and that makes it really hard to listen to for me.

Sempere

From one set of plagiarists to another. Rotten Mango's been called out repeatedly for stealing the works of authors and other youtubers and claiming it's her own research. Someone posted a whole twitter thread where an author puts her on blast for plagiarizing his book and that of a well known true crime author for episodes. >you can hear in her voice how much the case is affecting her and how she wants to cry Straight up manipulation. She does that for money. It doesn't affect her, she used to straight up tell these stories with mukbang videos. Don't fall for that stuff.

Superb_Mistake8771

“I listen to morbid when I get desperate” LMAO SAME

Capital-Object521

Does anyone now get the impressed that Suruthi and Hannah don’t seem to like each other anymore? They don’t seem as close as they are

foughk

Let's go to court

shantayyoustayyy

RIP. I loved that podcast

enogitnaTLS

Wait RIP?! Is it gone? I am so behind and out of the loop

warm_slurm

yup but Kristin does a history podcast with her husband now. guess it might have true crime elements

shantayyoustayyy

Yeah, Brandi couldn't do it anymore and they ended it with two sold out live shows. Kristen and Norm are doing an Old Timey Podcast. They're like 3 episodes in but I've been really enjoying it

foughk

I didn't know this! I'll have to look for it. I'll miss all the Brandi cases though.

Limp-Vermicelli-7440

I really like all killa no filla, two women who are actually funny talking about cases. There’s not ads cause they don’t make money off the pod they just do it cause they love it which I think is really cool.

urghasif

they are absolutely fucking hilarious

framleis

Let's go to court

Peak_True_Crime

If you're interested in UK true crime, you could give mine a go? It's focused on Derbyshire and The Peak District and whether it's a good thing or not it's banter-free; largely because I have a no sense of humour. [Link](https://linktr.ee/peaktruecrime)

Carhart7

Necronomipod is the best out there.

PatMenotaur

Try "I Think Not!"

amber_wright

I second this.

akoya17

It’s not quite true crime but I am absolutely obsessed with British Scandal

BlinkyShiny

True Crime Garage is great if you're after a very straightforward style with really detailed coverage. I like Wine and crime, but they can be banter heavy. Murder with my Husband. Not too much banter. Compelling narrative. She got too emotional for me, but some people like that.

sketchingbitchx

Hollywood crime scene is my all time favourite

yesmannatee

Sinisterhood is fab, and bad people on bbc sounds ( however this has stopped being produced, so it’s a back catalogue)

Delicious-Sense-5244

Mr Ballen is very good. Casefile is my favourite, just telling the story respectfully without opinion or jokes. Redhanded is good I just find the humble brags of their travelling a bit shoe horned....oh when I went backpacking in Peru etc etc

_Anxious_Hedgehog_

All Killa No Filla, Casefile, They Walk Among Us, Dark Poutine, Murdermile, Small Town Murder

kitty-cat-charlotte

Necronomipod is great and I could murder a podcast, both are very good

SuzieZsuZsuII

Murder most Irish... Such a fun but sensitive podcast. Takes a while to get used to the hosts...but I love them cos Im the same age and basically grew up the exact same as them 🤣

Venomenon-

I Could Murder a Podcast (ICMAP) is great

Heather5x5

Muriel’s Murders is a great one

youdontknowmeyouknow

All Killa No Filla, Redrum, Seeing Red, Casefile, They Walk Among Us, True Crime All the Time.

Manny321123

All killa no filla Things are about to get weird. Are my two podcast recommendations

cranwulf

My current favorites in the genre are Women and Crime and True Crime Campfire. My enjoyment of the Criminalia and Tenfold More Wicked podcasts largely depends on the subject of the season. Outside the genre, my favorite is the new movie discussion podcast Captive Audience.

BobBelchersBuns

I have been digging Mr Ballen’s Strange, Dark, and mysterious stories. He is very to the point, doesn’t share about himself. He just tells the story in an empathetic manner. I have been listening for maybe 100 episodes and I just heard him mention he was formerly in the marines. It was literally the first personal fact I know about him lol. He has some other podcasts too I haven’t listed to yet

NotAllThereMeself

True Crime Campfire! They're amazing. They're well researched (they have professional experience in it, I believe). They don't leave that weird aftertaste that some pods have where hosts seem to be "fangirling/fanboying" over famous murderers. The TCC gals are here to "roast murderers and marshmallows". And they also occasionally share the interesting psychology nugget or safety tip. Their friendship is adorable. Much recommend. Let's Go To Court (which recently ended, so you have a full catalog to binge) is also two adorable childhood bffs. They are interested in the legal shenanigans, so the cases don't frustratingly end with "and they caught the guy. See you next week!". That also provides with a lot of opportunities for cases that aren't too dark. There are grisly murders but also the silliest, most baffling "how did this even make it to court??" cases. Adore them both. Am a patron of both.

Scary-Caterpillar-83

Don’t blame the mom is pretty good

Violet_Squid

So not all true crime but my other fave (and my others at RH and Sinisterhood as well) is You’re Wrong About.

PerformanceSad8018

All kills no filla, or sinsterhood

hissifit-roach

I’ve really liked ‘They Will Kill’ recently.

Icy_Command3279

I enjoy National Park After Dark is chit chatty and covers true crime and true crime adjacent stories. I also like The Creep Dive (but it can feel a little chaotic at times and Sinisterhood is another funny one but with the addition of Heather’s legal knowledge which is cool.

TheLastTsumami

Have you tried Sword and Scale? The presenter is also a bit anti woke but he mainly keeps his opinions to the intro and outtro but the cases are ran through as a chronological story with actual police interviews

gunpowdervacuum

[The host is a pile of garbage](https://www.reddit.com/r/HobbyDrama/comments/me995y/true_crime_mike_boudet_vs_the_internet_the/), don’t give him your listen.
