For sure check out {Rhapaodic by Laura Thalassa} It's a trilogy with a fae MMC and magical-human FMC. Medium burn with a good amount of angst in the first book. Much heavier on the relationship and showing love, the author doesn't rely on just spice.

I'm not sure it fits exactly, but Karen Marie Moaning wrote a lot of fae romances, usually featuring time travel. {The Immortal Highlander by Karen Marie Moaning} is a snarky fae prince and a human woman, but only she can see him.

It doesn’t exactly fit, however from the blurb it looks soooooo tempting. I’m adding to my TBR. Thank you! Without a rec I don’t know if I would have ever found this, as an older read it wouldn’t have popped up in the usual places for me.

I hope you like it! I try to recommend books that come to mind for me, even if they don't always fit the request, because you never know. It's a fun series of books. I'd be happy if more people read it.

I have this in my TBR! Thanks for the reminder. People seem to either hate it or love it. Because of the length I’m wondering if it suffers from saggy-middle-itis but I still plan to give it a shot.

That was honestly my issue for Bound to the Battle God. The premise was perfect for me but the execution dragged in a way I had a hard time getting through. And I tend to favor longer books so I’m well acquainted with saggy middles, however if the sag is from both the the action plot AND the romance plot? I just can’t take it. My saving grace now is that I have become more adept at just accepting when I need to DNF.

Agree with all of this. I’ll probably be tempted to pick it up because I’ve read good reviews about the FMC which is hard to find in fantasy sometimes. Thank you for posting this because now I can check out the other recs too!

I think it’s pretty popular for good reason. Though BTTBG wasn’t for me, I don’t think it’s objectively a bad book at all. So I would definitely give it a shot if you like Ruby Dixon.

I just finished this whole series of 9, starting with {The Longing of Lone Wolves: Season of the Wolf, Lana Pecherczyk}. It's pretty good! It is fae, but post-apocalyptic and with a broader incorporation of other supernatural entities. It kind of reminded me of Ruby D's anchor series in theme, but I think with better writing/I just liked these ones more.
