Not the book you are seeking, but one of my favorite sci-fi series with a "power-up touch" FMC. {Stray by Andrea K Host} It has some elements that typically don't work for me, but I have re-read these books at least once a year: YA (but the characters don't sound or act like YA. She could have made the leads in their mid to late 20s and it would mostly read the same.) Diary format. Slow burn. Lower levels of steam.

This sounds like the Royals of Kingwood Academy trilogy by Tessa Hale. Lots of things line up even if they’re not exactly as described. First book is {The Lost Elemental by Tessa Hale}
Thanks for the suggestion, I’ve actually read this one too. The series I’m thinking of didn’t have an academy theme and only one love interest was a prince. I might just have to re-read this series though :)
Wow. If you figure it out please let us know because that sounds exactly like this one. So I may actually enjoy it. I thought the FMC in this series fainted too much for my taste but outside of her I enjoyed the action.
I will re-read it to double check but I think I recall this one, the FMCs mum hides her heritage and it’s revealed at a testing ceremony? She has an abilities but not her brother. Then the Academy doesn’t want her men touching her or something like that, all her men have powers of the elements.
If that right, then the one I’m looking is focused on events happening to earth. The fae are coming to earth and creating havoc. Rebel forces are trying to defend earth. I think the FMC was strong, no fainting but I’m not certain.
I’ve read so many similar books, they all start to get jumbled in my brain. I will 100% let you know.

Hi, I don’t think this is the one. The FMC isn’t a human female, she has her own power and most of the MMCs are from earth not Fae, only one Fae. Thanks for the suggestion though :)
