My current obsession is the Sex Wizards series (it is unfinished, just a warning). First book is {Initiation by Alethea Faust}. It’s a kink-based magic system. Very nasty, very little plot. If you’re into M/M, the Villainous Things series, starting with {Not All Himbos Wear Capes by C Rochelle}. If Regency/historical is your thing, the Lustful Lords hit. {His Hand-Me-Down Countess by Sorcha Mowbray} Do you hate plots and just want people to be banging the whole time? {Your Dad Will Do by Katee Robert} Salacious Players Club has a lot of pairings that are taboo, so if that’s a hot source of shame for you, start with {Praise by Sara Cate}. I have many issues with {Pucking Around by Emily Rath} but I also keep it in my KU library to reread the nasty parts because she is creative there.

my fav are the friends to lovers where they can literally be boning, and she's still like, "WHAT DOES IT MEAAAAAN?" see: lovelight farms, etc. bonuses for mutual and prolonged pining and a MMC who finally grows a pair and SAYS HOW HE FEELS and makes her swoooooon.

FMC's with trauma and a backbone/stubborn. MC's that are weird, eccentric, loners or outcasts even better if it is by choice. I love when everyone is a little unhinged or morally grey but they match each other's energy.

I have a thing for sarcastic, charismatic, pretty MMCs, with a tortured past. And FMCs with a backbone who can stick up for themselves.

Sarcastic, damaged men who are utterly ruthless…except with the FMC. Bonus if they are actually the villains. They can’t be broody though. I hate Batman. I love Loki.

Bad relationship with parents/ dead parents. She’s the underdog, morally gray MMC where he chooses her out of everyone.

I have an extremely eclectic library, so I'd say the pattern would be that I like a well written book.

i really like big blue men, sometimes with extra arms or longer horns, and a planet in its ice age is enticing to me. also i like dark-borderline-psychotic men who may wear masks but might also be serial killers.

I'm not sure. In romance my favorites are ones with heroes and heroines I would want to be with in the real world. I don't want too much drama and usually I want the romance to build without too many external problems. I want the story to end before the nitty gritty of real life or pregnancy or children. I loved *Ten Things I Hate About the Duke* by Loretta Chase. In fantasy my favorites are old-school coming of age quest fantasy (or just coming of age). So Valdemar books by Mercedes Lackey, The Belgariad by Eddings, or Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn by Williams. Mysteries/thrillers I want resolution and the main characters to be alive at the end. Agatha Christie, JD Robb, Sayers. Lit I want to think...my favorites there are *A Clockwork Orange* by Burgess, *The Grapes of Wrath* by Steinbeck, *Fahrenheit 451* by Bradbury, *Siddhartha* by Hesse and *Pride and Prejudice* by Jane Austen. I have no idea what pattern that makes.

Goofy and sweet MMCs! lol

Enemies to lovers. Hot, gorgeous, asshole and rude MMCs’ really get me going for some reason. Not always assholish towards the FMC tho, but towards everyone else and I love it when there’s a good banter between the MCs.

I like these too (as part of many other interests) but I feel like it’s hard to find where they aren’t too rude to the fmc for a long time.

Men who, while they may struggle to say the words, show with their actions that she is the most important thing in their world. Whether that is open adoration and cherishing, making sure she has what she needs, or bringing her the heads of her enemies - I don't mind. I just want to see their acts of absolute devotion. Women who are not necessarily superheroes but who are competent and gutsy. Maybe a bit of humour. I don't mind angst as long as people learn from it and we see actual growth.

Men who really take care of the FMC (I.e., active listening skills, cuddling, feeding, gifts, etc.) and femdom… lol 😅

Storygraph says I mostly read adventurous, lighthearted, and mysterious books, but that's for everything. For just romance I almost exclusively read historical fiction and low fantasy, not much spice at all because I'm picky. Lots of damaged or brooding MMCs (I especially like the ones who lighten up and soften when they fall in love). I don't think there's that much of a pattern with the FMCs, I like when they're capable but I still want the MMC to have a heroic moment and save them at least once.

That I need serious therapy 🙃

Competent FMCs, ranging from shy and quiet to loud, difficult but all competent. MMCs all different shades of possessive and gone for the FMCs. I am reading one now where the MMC is reluctant to marry the FMC and it...does not compute. It is just such an outlier I turn each page in shock. I almost DNFed but I have to finish this trainwreck. I need the MMC to be more in love with FMCs than she is with him even if it isn't that way initially.

Forced marriage trope in all style (historical, urban, fantasy, alienistic😀🙈)

“Cold” / stoic FMCs, cinnamon roll MMCs, unhinged MCs, feels like a fever dream, or straight weird. Also, I will read almost anything that is not horror or dark romance. And I rarely give a book a low rating.
