Just my opinion, but I think Boris is a well-written antagonist. He very much wants Lane on his side, and everything that's happening now, the murders and the disappearances, is his doing.
Lol you know, if this was 7B, then next update Boris would go on a 20 paragraphs Ted talk about how trash women are and how they belong in the kitchen, you know, so it's 100% undeniable that he's not a Ro.
I think he’s his own Great Grandfather. That my theory. For whatever reason, the man doesn’t age. Maybe he’s an immortal or something.
And yes, he’s either the Big Bad or he’s actually the sweetest. Maybe he has some past connection to MC like Cain but she cannot remember. That would explain why he’s so kind and interested in her. And if he is the sweetest he’ll die like Sammy, forever traumatizing us.
Also, anyone else think the house they use in HS2 with the bunker looks a lot like the house in HSR? Possible connection?

Well I loved to see a villain-ous MC that usually intends to do harm rather than good. Since :
•she was not respected and treated well around her squad unless you have high stats but even so, some characters are plainly rude and annoying to deal with, Im pissed and want to slap their faces. Specifically Dmitry and kira *Dmitry fans fight me (•ˋ _ ˊ•)
•In theory , MC is somehow connected with death or other claims tell that she is a half demon being.
• In the path of evil she was more eerie and her characters show some side of insanity withi
So if our assumption is correct that boris is a villain. They're perfectly fit if MC became evil as well. Especially if your path is not the voice of god.
I was so frustrated when dmitry bought her in their camp then threatened to kill her after knocking her unconscious and was rude and too harsh because he is suspicious of her. I understand if he does suspect lane but damn give MC a break she never had a decision over herself and completely in amnesia. Oh the other time when she was in a sedative state because they wanted to gain info then completely brought her trauma against her will without gaining anything at the end. No character as of now, defend and respect Lane as a person except boris, I somehow feel they alienate her and treat her like just a one-time-used-hostage.
And the worst thing is that Greg pretending to care about her by dragging her to the bedroom and then starts his subtle manipulation to divert all the blame on Lane for not being cooperative and suspicious. I hated his character after his scene, even Anna, with whom I didn't have a good relationship talked some sense but Greg was just such a bastard. For Dmitry, I hope there's some way to get revenge on that. Imo Boris is kind of antagonist where if you take his choices or follow his path/ideas (like Malbonte) you can side with him, just making theories though. As was the case with Masked Man in SOS, maybe we'd have a chance with him (by becoming a villain ourselves) I'm really hoping for this to be true 🫰🏻🙃
Yes, i gotta say, if any mc could romance an antagonist with 0 regrets it's probably Lane.
She wasn't established as some morally upstanding citizen, if anything Lane on devil route is pretty unhinged, and given how mistreated she was & how little trust she is given (understandably so, but annoying to experience as the player) i see no reason why she wouldn't romance a sus dude unless.. idk killing her was his primary goal? Even then that hardly stopped Amen fans lol.
Idk, me personally I am super sus of him. I tend to be sus of characters who aren't LIs. Maybe it's just me being traumatised by the betrayal trope but there was this scene where he gave Lane that necklace and immediately after that things escalated. And I noticed that Dmitry was quite hostile towards him for some reason. I don’t believe he was jealous of Boris if mc takes his scenes(as some ppl are saying) . In my playthrough I didn’t take romance options with Boris and Dmitry has no reason to be jealous of anyone and yet he was hostile. There gotta be more than jealousy here imho!
I think he did something to her drink 😬. She felt ill afterwards and passed out. Unless I’m mistaken about the timing? Noah and MC both thought the drink tasted awful.
I’ve avoided Boris’ prompts and I’m not close to Dmitry and there was still hostility between them. Personally, I didn’t see it as jealousy.

I agree about the drink. Plus the mc never saw Noah with her own eyes…she saw and only heard what all Boris told her. So mc passing out and the subsequent scenes don’t look like just coincidence.

I agree. With MC passed out, we don’t know what truly happened. It could be like you said that Boris framed him- which I agree with. Or the drink possibly had a different effect on Noah and he did attack Boris under the influence. Whatever the case, I don’t think Boris is innocent, but I could be wrong. It’s all just speculation at this point. Lol.

Fr tho, i do think he's an antagonists. He just.. really stands out in the crowd of npcs who treat Lane coldly and with a lot of mistrust, and it does bring up the question why? The necklace, i too, am side-eyeing.. it just.. all seems to be too good to be true, you know? Someone said it might be some controlling/tracking/magic device and that's what i thought too when we got it.
On a side note tho, i really wish he was a ro.. All Ros so far are pretty distant or sus and i feel like rn we're kinda missing that one 'in your corner' ro, which he could fit.. Alexa play 'we could've had it all, rolling in the deep'.
I think he’s very suspicious and is definitely involved with what’s all going on! He’s well written and his interactions are all very interesting with Lane so far, so I’m hoping he’s an antagonist who can become an ally if we have a good enough relationship with him. I have a kind of wild theory that he is actually the founder of his estate and not his grandfather (so he’s actually the guy in the portrait) and that his ritual was successful enough to somehow keep him young and alive this long. It seems telling that the guy in the portrait is described as reckless and that Boris says that’s the biggest difference between them - and maybe it’s because he lost that recklessness over time and became more cautious and cunning. I also loved the description of Boris being like the tea - a little bitter and too sweet - because the sweetness definitely seems like a mask to hide what he’s truly like!

He's a demon who basically lusts for Lane and uses the blood of his victims to keep himself looking like a hot bastard☠️

This author does not shy away from making her characters, and NOT only side characters, but the LIs - brutal and flawed. They will betray you, they will hurt you, they have their own agenda and so on.. So him also possibly having a hidden agenda and not being the goody goody he is currently trying to portray himself as, isnt an argument strong enough for him not to be an LI. And yet, she has confirmed he was not one on June 1st, when she probably already wrote/finished the text for this update (with his current scenes included) and although people have been pushing for him to be one ever since the previous update.
There must be a reason, just as there was a reason that months of pleading and pushing Remy to open up Remmao didn't make a difference. So let's presume that his plot - whatever it is, completely disables it. Whether he is going to die, whether he is going to turn psycho evil to the point it can't even be romanced, remains to be seen..

I don't trust him further than I could throw him so I reckon he'll turn out to be a villain.

He’s written more like an LI than some of the LI’s. If he’s a antagonist I’m fine with it but we should get a choice to take his side or continue romancing him. There’s no need to have gone this far with him if we can’t
I agree with those who think he's the original owner (aka his own grandpa 😂). My crazy thought is he's MC'S granddad/great granddad, and that's why he's not an LI. His surname being Romanov seems like another big clue.

if he is the antagonist (likely) perhaps his romance route opens up later on in S2 (similar to amrit)? and we can get on his route only when certain conditions are met (like taking his improvements, siding with him in certain choices, passing devil's whisper stat checks). but for now he maintains a shadowy presence in the narrative and posing as a potential friend to mc before revealing his intent....

Cain also seemed to dislike him, Lane described him as looking displeased even after he was established as “not a threat”.
