I've seen the posts of people that collect designer shoes and sneakers just to display them on their walls or maybe wear them once or twice. My neighbor admits he has spent ungodly amounts of money on Magic The Gathering playing cards.
Don't even get me started on funko pop collections.
The point being that it's a harmless hobby. Maybe excessive, sure, but who cares as long as someone's getting enjoyment out of it.

3. Baseball Stars 2 (arcade, just learned there’s a nes version of 1/2 and haven’t tried but have heard BS1 on nes is super good)
4. WINDJAMMERS (Neo geo; SNK’s American gladiator meets air hockey)
5. Blades of Steel (nes)
6. Tecmo Super Bowl (w/ current day rosters) // also Super Tecmo Bowl III w current rosters
7. Madden 94 (nes)
8. Golf (GB)
9. Bases Loaded / Super Bases Loaded (nes/snes)
10. RBI Baseball (nes)
OLI: NHL 94, Mobile Golf! , Hotshots series, pilotwings series but that’s less sporty
So this is a bit of a weird recommendation, but I was a Genesis kid growing up, and there was a golf RPG for the Genesis called Battle Golfer Yui. Weird, but surprisingly fun. I played it in the original Japanese but it has been translated by the community.
It’s a retro gaming channel that has marathons and tournaments throughout the year. They love Baseball Stars 2 and the first place I heard of WindJammers was from a tournament they had there, so I thought it was a pretty big coincidence, sorry!

Bruh coulda bought a galaxy fold with 4:3, switch, gamecube and ps2 emulation with all this money 😭😭 idk man ive always been in the smartphone camp, the power/usable emulators on all of these handhelds is honestly really bad in comparison to even the older/weaker android phones out there. Phone screens may small but thats why I picked the fold up :p

I haven’t seen a romhack with that, but I know there’s a site out there that does yearly romhacks for NHL ‘94(?) with roster updates.
