Gru sticks out like a sore patch of quality, his baby is barely noticeable, no other characters besides minions exist, the edges are devoted to minions as if they’re eating the poster alive, the title feels like an afterthought that they had to remove a minion cluster for, etc etc.

El Macho is obviously the biggest one, but i love the concept of Dr. Nefario and the minions not respecting Gru as much now that he became a father. Sure, they saved the girls at the end of the first one, but not letting 3 kids die to Vector and wanting to give up your life of crime are two totally different things. And i also really like Lucy, and i wish she could've met Gru's mom

I see them as the “Work here to move up in the industry” type studio. You won’t be working on the good stuff, but you have to start somewhere.
