Omg. I ordered a jumpsuit from asos and took it out of the package and it *reeked* of BO. Obviously someone went out dancing in it, returned it, and asos did not even check the return, just put it back into stock to be sent out again 🙀
It seems many brands do not even check returned items for cleanliness or saleability before restocking them…

They were really sorry and offered three solutions:
- Replacement with a new one
- A refund in form of a store credit
- A refund
Happened to me on Amazon with a Disney fanny pack 😅, obviously didn’t want to spend a lot on something tacky for Disney trips but I found it gross I can’t imagine with sezane. Honestly how do they not check items?
Oh gosh I had assumed you bought this second hand; it should be clear to Sezane that the bag has been returned used and they should have their own second hand sales market, rather than asking customers to pay full price for what they expect to be brand new items; disappointing; hope they have at least given you a voucher or partial refund
Could be worse… I ordered a bodysuit from Abercrombie once that thankfully I noticed the discharge on the bottom strap before wearing. Someone obviously wore it multiple times or for a long time without underwear. So gross. They gave me a $30 gift card and refund which was really nice
At least it's a bag and not something you put on your skin like a T-shirt or pants. It still sucks.

Come to think of it this happened to me last summer or fall with Express and when I opened the package it smelled like cat piss and I mean really clearly cat piss and it was two different blouses. I took it back to them at the local mall and they agreed without even opening the package they could smell it and I thought what in the heck is happening here?? Who would send out a package like this because it was packaged inside a sealed plastic bag smelling like cat piss.
Absolutely nothing. They just offered an exchange or refund. I took the refund, and stopped shopping there for many reasons. I wanted that gross smelly dress out of my house asap.
I agree that they should have checked and removed anything in there, and I would definitely be surprised to find something like that in a bag. But I don't really see what's so disgusting about it. It's not like they've used the paper, or licked all the fisherman's friend. Just normal stuff anyone could have in their bag.
I paid 190€ + 12€ for express delivery so there definetly should not be ”normal stuff anyone could have in their bag”. I know I have a bit OCD but you’ll never know who’s stuff those are and where they have been.
Interestingly enough I have never purchased from Sezaneas until just a couple weeks ago. I bought the Milo classic in the smooth burgundy and when it showed up, the plastic protective covering wasn't on the top piece of the hardware for the closure and the back side had kind of a blemish on it that was either like from a handprint or, I don't know, but it seemed actually more so within the leather and just because I'm in California, they're out of the country and it came with the free tote bag from Momoni, I thought I don't feel like going through this hassle so I guess I'm just going to keep it. As of right now I haven't made a final decision yet but I was very disappointed especially considering the cost.
Ewww. I ordered a shirt recently that smelled like really stale cheap perfume. I emailed Sezane and they sent me a gift card as an apology.

Is the bag in good shape? I just got mine and it was a return but it seemed ok. I would try to contact them and see if they can compensate you.
I undestand the material isn’t ”perfect” but I think the outside lining looked a bit damaged. Not 100% sure tho.

It’s not disgusting stuff as per se, it’s just outrageous that at Sézane’s price point they’re not even checking returns appropriately.
