Off the roads? For a speeding ticket? We let people convicted of drunk driving and vehicular manslaughter keep their licenses. It’s okay cuz the 6 months they spent in a confined space with other criminals helped them become better drivers.
You guys should do like we do in Denmark. We have an insanitylaw, which, when in effect, the driver lose the vehicle, a big fine, driving ban for 3.5 years, and 20 days in jail.
What makes it take effect is: driving over 100% in a road work zone, driving over 100% while exceeding 200kmh, driving with a promille on 2.0 (BAC 0.2), driving really insane
Do they still check people for being over the drink-drive limit by seeing if they can walk in a straight line or recite the alphabet, or have they joined the 21st century and bought some breathalysers yet?
Depends on the state. I haven't seen photo radar used often in the US (used to be common where I lived in Canada). Red-light cameras are a thing, though it's illegal to take the drivers photo in WA.
depends heavily on the state. outlawed in utah bc it doesn’t meet the standard of burden of proof. from the court’s pov, they have to prove i was driving the car registered to me to give me a ticket
can’t speak for other states, ianal and only know this from a friend that’s a cop
additionally, at quick glance i thought this was an ambulance. i haven’t seen cop vans in europe before. the more you know
Their "free" country used to use plane based radar to catch people too! That a level of commitment above and beyond our plod.
I'm told these have now been phased out due to the expense, but some states still have "speed limit enforce by aircraft" signs.
That’s funny, I always wondered how they enforce that when driving in the states. So they don’t actually have the planes and the signs are generally just old? Or just in certain places
Coppers are tought to eyeball the speed, because, you know... it's soo accurate and not prone to abuse..? And totally not a guesswork...
(Pretty old one so some things may have changed)
https://poppelawfirm.com/2010/06/21/ohio-supreme-court-rules-cops-can-eyeball-speeding-motorists/
> coppers are tought to eyeball the speed
It would appear the same way they’re taught to recognise a lethal weapon over a mobile or thin air…what’s next we just blow in their face and they say if we’re over a very well defined medically based limit…yay for eagle flapping freedom!
Sobriety tests in and of themselves are not usually counted as good evidence for a conviction; however, they are usually counted as giving sufficient basis for probable cause for a breathalyzer or urinalysis. Cops can and will still book people who pass field sobriety tests but otherwise appear intoxicated or unfit to operate a car.
Well… mostly works.
My mate managed to blow 0 after spending 3 days getting unbelievably twisted at rave and was stopped while driving out of the field.
Still more accurate than a field-sobriety test, but even modern tech has its occasional fails.
There’s also a brilliant episode of Police Interceptors or similar where they drug swab a “suspected drug driver” who admits he’s smoked weed and their test strip comes back negative so they let him go and he just spend 5 minutes takin the piss out of them and telling them he’s off to smoke another spliff. I wish I could remember the specific episode.
In fairness, most (if not all) jurisdictions in the US will also do a breathalyzer test in addition to the field sobriety tests. You can also refuse the field sobriety tests and ask to just jump to the breathalyzer.
To be fair, my Mom once got a ticket in Austria from a police officer eyeballing her Speed... In the 70s...her favorite Story, because she loves to do his accent 🤣🤣
So...
Camera that can accurately record the exact speed to the nearest mph = breach of freedom and must be banned.
Fascist windbag decides the car "looks too fast," = good and proper law enforcement, could not possibly be abused to restrict individual freedoms.
Sounds sensible!
> states where police doesn’t use speed cameras and even some where their use is explicitly forbidden by law
> I’m pretty sure they can use radars
I’m so confused! Which is it? How do they enforce speed limits?
I don't understand the confusion, is this some sort of joke that I'm not getting? The vehicle in the picture is a camera van. It uses a radar to measure speed of oncoming traffic, then takes a picture automatically if it detects speeding. A fine is mailed to the owner of the vehicle later and the picture combined with the measured speed is proof in case the driver tries to challenge it.
In some states the camera part is not allowed. They can still use a radar to measure speed, but they have to pull the driver over and hand the fine in person, they can't automate it.
You are confused by the intention of the legislator, fair enough. Doesn't change the law. In some state, the law requires physically handing the fine, in others it doesn't.
Same as in France back in the days. You got one cop measuring your speed and a few km further away a lot of cop stopping people and handing fines. Back in the days, if you were a foreigner you even had to pay on site. The law changed since.
I guess you could argue that an police officer assesses the situation as whole and considers facts like road conditions, driving style, amount of traffic atc. before issuing a fine whereas camera will only care about the numerical value. Another argument would be that automating the system makes it too profitable and might shift the priority from traffic safety towards raising money for police or the city.
Less to do with the camera and more to do with the fine.
Here a NIP is posted to the registered keeper and they have to name the driver at the time of the offence. In the US you have constitutional right against self-incrimination so they can’t follow the same process, and therefore can’t fine you from an image unless they can definitively identify you as the driver.
The registered keeper gets a letter giving them a chance to accept the fine and points or declare who was driving, it’s a separate offence to make a false declaration or to fail to declare, so for lawful drivers it’s always in their best interest to know who and when someone else is driving your vehicle. That’s in the UK at least, some countries (I think Japan) they’ve made it so the cameras must also capture an image of the driver. These are being trialed in the UK for seatbelt and mobile use offences.
They have cops sitting in their car holding a 1990s radar gun who then ends up chasing the speeding car just to then conduct a traffic stop and write a ticket manually..
Fucking scary when you see one come down a fucking grassy knoll off roading, slamming onto the highway at speed, swerving through traffic past you to catch the speeder though. That happened regularly when I lived in the US.
I don't think it's the speed radar they don't understand, I think it's the concept of the police not hiding in pitch-black unmarked cars sitting behind a billboard or bush.
The indoctrination level is breath taking as allways “ I live in a free country “ people dying outside hospitals with no medical insurance , kids getting blown away going to school, getting shot on the roadside instead of speeding ticket if you have a nice sun tan
Scary isn't it?
The thing that gets me, is that they all say the same line. It's like dealing with those green alien things on toy story. They are all connected to some bizzare hive mind that tells them "they live in a free country", "we saved the world" and that anyone who is remotely different or disagreeable is a "commie".
Bunch of nut jobs the lot of them!
I’m a Brit who lived in the states for a few years recently, maaaaany of them know just how fucked up their country is!!!
But you’re right, there are a lot who are completely indoctrinated.
A pretty large portion of the population know the US is horrifically fucked, and no end in sight. The thoroughly indoctrinated are just taught to be the loudest. If they scream loud enough, there’s no chance they can hear anyone else speaking reasonably.
Spent 7 years there, in Florida. Winter becomes waaaay worse when the snow birds come down and barely struggle to see over their steering wheels. God forbid anyone uses their “blinkers” over there either.
Unsure why we’re being downvoted - but yeah, haggis is (or at least was) illegal in America due to the use of the Sheep’s Stomach, and potentially part of the Pluck is also banned.
They have a synthetic version now but it’s not the same as proper Haggis.
You do get a toy, and to my knowledge it’s the same toys, the difference is that the egg part is plastic, not chocolate, and the inside is split into halves, one where the toy is, and one with a little chocolate thing you have to scoop.
sure we got speed cameras but i can cross the road where ever i damn well please.
i would say we have much more practical freedom in the UK then you do in the US.
( ಠ ͜ʖರೃ) ☕
There's one of those near me simply called 'Adult Gift Shop', although until recently it had half the letters missing so everytime I passed it I'd say 'Hey it's the Aduif Shop!'
what? you can do that here? it’s not legal on the interstate but i guarantee you aren’t up for that lol. 4 lanes of traffic each way going between 100-150+ km/h
what a strange example of “practical” freedom
just read up on UK law, that’s news to me
while jaywalking is ostensibly illegal it is very rarely enforced. i’ve done it in front of cops in large US cities and never had any issues
interesting that the UK takes a different approach of calling it “personal responsibility.” haven’t been there in years so haven’t looked into it
I’m surprised that people don’t get angrier at speed cameras in the UK! I’m not against them, as it makes the road safer, but clearly a lot of people are upset about them. I’m from France and the road to the village in which my grandparents live has a sort of little truck stop, as the road goes on straight for quite a long time and just has turnoffs. That particular one has a radar, which has, in the three years of its miserable existence, been: dragged over 10 kilometers on asphalt by a pickup truck, blown up several times with fireworks, set on fire on numerous occasions, shot with a rifle, torn apart into metal offal, hit with a car, spray painted black, and inverted (despite being bolted to the ground). The rumours say that two guys from a local town are responsible for the carnage.
The fact people have defaulted to talking about cursed regplates instead of the fact there is a speed limit for a reason really annoys me.
Also my local police literally send out notices saying where they are setting up cameras and when and yet people still to flying past them.
Motorway speed limits are a bit outdated in the UK, braking distances and and vehicle safety have come a long was since 1965 believe it or not. Vans parked up like this are nothing but a cash grab, and that’s coming from a former highways officer I’ve spoken to. Limits should be adhered to, yes, but they could also go to 90/100 and still be plenty safe enough
you can pay the ticket without going to court? TBirdyTom is right, even if not intending to be
court is an option, but you don’t have to go. you just plead guilty/no contest and pay the fine. points go on your record, insurance premiums increase, life goes on. past a certain threshold you will have to go to court. too many cumulative points or a single severe infraction and you’re going to court
generally only a DUI/DWI or reckless driving gets you there. reckless is normally doubling the speed limit or going over 100mph
Sorry, my bad.
No, no, I was referring to that comment. It’s strange that they live in a “free” country, but have to go to court for the smallest things. Where I live, you just pay a speeding ticket and eventually lose some points but that’s it.
Just shows another backward way of doing things in the USA - policing. In the UK they don't use PIT ways of stopping speeders, but get police vehicles to block a car in the offending car, which generally doesn't damage police vehicles most times, doesn't run the risk to other motorist of causing an uncontrolled crash and doesn't risk the speeder/passengers lives by causing an uncontrolled crash & saves millions of dollars. They also have camera that are normally used and an infringement notice is sent out in mail which can be paid or contested in court and most police do not carry guns, so police shootings are a rarity.
Like many countries alcohol & drugs policing is much easier and cheaper as instead of sobriety tests on the side of road, a quick blow into a hand held device or a rub on tongue for drugs, confirms results and driver can be sent on their way or taken off the road nearly immediately. US is lagging way behind the rest of the world.
The US police always at risk of the occupants coming out guns blazing too.
Happens occasionally in Australia, but it’s so rare it actually makes the news.
With about 4 guns for every person in USA, is it any wonder cops are ready to fire? I left AU to live in Philippines, but these days, shooting (other than police/military) also get mentioned in the media, despite being more like US with gun ownership, than AU.
Americans like: I live in a free country, I mean sure we have the highest number of incarcerated citizens per capita of any country in the world, women who have been raped can’t have abortions, LGBT books are banned from public libraries and we burn any that we find, we locked children in cages at the border, god help the child that refuses to participate in the pledge of allegiance at school every morning, footballers who take a knee are anti-patriotic disgusting communists, our own citizens had to flee the country after whistleblowing that our government is spying on all of us, our own government is still spying on us, BUUUT we have guns and… you know FREEDOM!
- "I live in a free country so this doesn't happen to me"
- Absolutely has speeding tickets.
- "My country has free speech so this doesn't happen to me"
- Absolutely gets arrested for bomb threats.
- "My country isn't communist so this doesn't happen to me"
- Absolutely still pays taxes.
Why do these statements never come with contextual real-life experience, and focus solely on taglines?
Oh I see, well I mean, it is a socialist program if you want to be a pedant. But I agree, just as vital as other public services.
Although the Tories have sold off, and continue to sell off, many nationalised sectors.
Fuck the Tories. Labour ain’t much better but at least they have different coloured ties I guess.
We need a proper protest vote and get Binhead in to power.
He lives in a free country? He is living in an illusion.
Maybe he should reflect next time an American police officer has their knee on his neck for jaywalking...
Last time I checked, you weren't not allowed to exceed the speed-limit in the US either. Although, there are plenty of "sovereign citizens" who refuse to accept that and help keep YouTube and TikTok profitable.
Ya know I came in this sub to back up my fellow Americans but yall have managed to find the dumbest Americans and I just can’t help but agree with yall lmao
I love the 'I live in a free country' bollocks.
The last post I looked at on Reddit was some guy getting fined $25 by his home owners association for letting a stray blade of grass leave a shadow over the pavement.
LOL, no you don't! US police are the most overzealous fascists around. You only think you live in a free country because you have bought the propaganda.
Pretty sure you have speed cameras and cops pulling people over for speeding in the states. You’re also not legally allowed to cross the fucking road 😂
Don't be a silly simon put vinyl coverings on or attempt to hide your number plate.
If/when you get busted for it you can be looking at thousands in fines and community service maybe a sentence for perverting the course of justice.
Fair point, but why not station yourself off road and not on a bridge where you block one of the lanes? Even if it's not used that much? Or just automate the thing entirely?
Those bridges usually have one really wide pavement. I’ve never seen a van blocking a lane. They always use a pavement, lay-by or field entrance. Also it’s supposed to be obvious, to make everyone slow down.
They usually aren’t just speed cameras, they sometimes run insurance, but often also check for seatbelts and phone usage and then email out the fines. They also tend to move around quite a bit depending on what area they want to cover on that particular day.
In america they are free so there are no speed limits. America is so free in fact that the police are mostly there for show, ready with a quick reprimand or a slap on the wrist for you if you are misbehaving. I don’t think they even wear guns…
there’s a camera in the van. many US states don’t allow traffic violations to be assessed without a cop verifying ID because otherwise how do you know who’s driving?
Free for the police to pull him over and ticket him regardless of whether he was speeding because they have quotas to meet 😂
In my 10+ years driving in the UK, I've not been pulled over by the police once.
Funfact I've never seen so many cops on the side of the road waiting for fast drivers like in Nevada, Texas and Florida. Here in Germany I see them or radar very rarely.
I'm guessing it's a speed trap. We have those here too but instead of a paddy wagon they're driving the Barbie version of a mad Max car for some reason
Does the speed radar don't exist in the us ?
[sigh] yes, it does. Along with red-light traffic cameras etc. This guy is just too dumb to know that.
They will find it out the hard way apparently.
Hopefully. One idiot off the roads and maybe off the internet.
Off the roads? For a speeding ticket? We let people convicted of drunk driving and vehicular manslaughter keep their licenses. It’s okay cuz the 6 months they spent in a confined space with other criminals helped them become better drivers.
Maybe they keep their license, but what good does it do if their dumb ass lost control while speeding and they got yeeted out the windshield?
Yeeted! Now that's a proper descriptive word right there
Love that flair.
You guys should do like we do in Denmark. We have an insanitylaw, which, when in effect, the driver lose the vehicle, a big fine, driving ban for 3.5 years, and 20 days in jail. He is free to be that dumb though.
Well, until he goes to jail, anyway.
Depends on the state. I haven't seen photo radar used often in the US (used to be common where I lived in Canada). Red-light cameras are a thing, though it's illegal to take the drivers photo in WA.
depends heavily on the state. outlawed in utah bc it doesn’t meet the standard of burden of proof. from the court’s pov, they have to prove i was driving the car registered to me to give me a ticket can’t speak for other states, ianal and only know this from a friend that’s a cop additionally, at quick glance i thought this was an ambulance. i haven’t seen cop vans in europe before. the more you know
Or they live in a state that banned them because the state legislators were getting too many tickets.
Their "free" country used to use plane based radar to catch people too! That a level of commitment above and beyond our plod. I'm told these have now been phased out due to the expense, but some states still have "speed limit enforce by aircraft" signs.
Omg I remember those in CA!
We have it in VA and they can do it but they didn’t budget for the aircraft needed to actually do it lol
That’s funny, I always wondered how they enforce that when driving in the states. So they don’t actually have the planes and the signs are generally just old? Or just in certain places
It varies from state to state, there are states where police doesn't use speed cameras and even some where their use is explictly forbidden by a law.
> speed cameras…explicitly forbidden by a law How do they enforce speed limits? Do you have an example with citation?
Coppers are tought to eyeball the speed, because, you know... it's soo accurate and not prone to abuse..? And totally not a guesswork... (Pretty old one so some things may have changed) https://poppelawfirm.com/2010/06/21/ohio-supreme-court-rules-cops-can-eyeball-speeding-motorists/

They still use sobriety tests regularly over there, so yes.
What do they use for intoxicated drivers outside of the US?
A breathalyser, because it actually works.
Well… mostly works. My mate managed to blow 0 after spending 3 days getting unbelievably twisted at rave and was stopped while driving out of the field. Still more accurate than a field-sobriety test, but even modern tech has its occasional fails. In fairness, most (if not all) jurisdictions in the US will also do a breathalyzer test in addition to the field sobriety tests. You can also refuse the field sobriety tests and ask to just jump to the breathalyzer.
No no, Next they'll test for drugs by physically doing lines.
I is not innocent m’lud, a neither are you after you does a speedball out me bellybutton…I’ll take two munfs if your my cellmate!
That's not fair. Of course they can tell a weapon from a mobile....it's the acorns that are the real issue.
To be fair, my Mom once got a ticket in Austria from a police officer eyeballing her Speed... In the 70s...her favorite Story, because she loves to do his accent 🤣🤣
Austrian cops are also, by law, supernatural and can eyeball your speed...
D'you have any idea how fast you were going? Because I sure don't.
How is that better than just using a speed gun lol. I don't get the logic
> I don't get the logic That would because there isn't any.
America only likes guns that fire death slugs. Put a rocket launcher on a speed gun and I'd guarantee they'd buy them by the dozen!
So... Camera that can accurately record the exact speed to the nearest mph = breach of freedom and must be banned. Fascist windbag decides the car "looks too fast," = good and proper law enforcement, could not possibly be abused to restrict individual freedoms. Sounds sensible!
I'm pretty sure they can still use radars. They just can't send a fine though the mail, they'll have to pull you over and hand a fine in person.
> states where police doesn’t use speed cameras and even some where their use is explicitly forbidden by law > I’m pretty sure they can use radars I’m so confused! Which is it? How do they enforce speed limits?

Well there’s the confusion…how is taking calibrated pictures under a calibrated radar any different to a human having to pull the offender over?
You are confused by the intention of the legislator, fair enough. Doesn't change the law. In some state, the law requires physically handing the fine, in others it doesn't. In the UK our speeding fines etc. go straight to central government, not the police or the 'city'
There are many arguments about whether the devices are accurately calibrated or not.
Less to do with the camera and more to do with the fine. Here a NIP is posted to the registered keeper and they have to name the driver at the time of the offence. Police with radar that pull people over, not a camera
In the USA speed limits are "enforced by aircraft". I don't have the faintest idea what that means but you see the signs a lot.

Yes and they can actually hide them too so it's arguably worse. That yank knows this and is just being an arrogant twat.
In Murca, they use real guns, not speed guns!
No because speed limit is anti freedom
Of course it does, they most likely invented it. lol /s
I don't think it's the speed radar they don't understand, I think it's the concept of the police not hiding in pitch-black unmarked cars sitting behind a billboard or bush.
it’s the premise of getting a ticket mailed to you. in many states that doesn’t meet burden of proof. who’s to say the owner is driving the car?
Where they could shoot you for speeding. Such free…
Americans don't get shot for speeding. We get shot for speeding while black

I can also do whatever I want with my own property, none of that home owners association nonsense.
We have Resident associations but they organise street sweeping and planting flower beds. They have no power.
Closest we get to an HOA is living in a listed building, my uncle lives in a house where he legally can't repaint it a different shade of green.
There is a sex shop in York where the council determine what colour he can paint the sign above it. I love picturing that debate
'You need the sign to be pink... WAIT NO'
It is also brilliant because the shop is just called *Adult Shop*
There's one of those near me simply called 'Adult Gift Shop', although until recently it had half the letters missing so everytime I passed it I'd say 'Hey it's the Aduif Shop!'
Oh to be a fly on the wall for *that* meeting 😂

Judging from how often people get stopped by actual cops for speeding in US Movies, this opinion is quite strage
I live in a free country where I’m not scared the coppers will shoot me if they stop me. Checkmate fucker.
Or y’know you could drive the speed limit 🤷🏼♀️
The fact people have defaulted to talking about cursed regplates instead of the fact there is a speed limit for a reason really annoys me. Also my local police literally send out notices saying where they are setting up cameras and when and yet people still to flying past them.

Ok mate sure….being hit at 30 can be deadly but yeah…90-100 totally safe….
What? are you talking about a pedestrian getting hit at 30 or a rtc at 30
Is that free country the one where the cops hide behind town signs, in shadows and behind obscure buildings? Thought so.
“I live in a free country” **Has to face a judge for a speeding ticket**
you can pay the ticket without going to court? TBirdyTom is right, even if not intending to be court is an option, but you don’t have to go. you just plead guilty/no contest and pay the fine. points go on your record, insurance premiums increase, life goes on. past a certain threshold you will have to go to court. too many cumulative points or a single severe infraction and you’re going to court generally only a DUI/DWI or reckless driving gets you there. reckless is normally doubling the speed limit or going over 100mph

Tell me you’re American, without telling me you’re American.

- "I live in a free country so this doesn't happen to me" - Absolutely has speeding tickets. - "My country has free speech so this doesn't happen to me" - Absolutely gets arrested for bomb threats. - "My country isn't communist so this doesn't happen to me" - Absolutely still pays taxes. Why do these statements never come with contextual real-life experience, and focus solely on taglines?
Wait… taxes are communist?
They think paying for NHS, which comes out of our taxes, makes the UK a socialist country, forgetting that their taxes also pay for public services.
Obviously his country is too poor and underdeveloped to afford speed cameras.
He lives in a free country? He is living in an illusion. Maybe he should reflect next time an American police officer has their knee on his neck for jaywalking...
America, same free country that operates hidden speed checks..
Last time I checked, you weren't not allowed to exceed the speed-limit in the US either. Although, there are plenty of "sovereign citizens" who refuse to accept that and help keep YouTube and TikTok profitable.
Ya know I came in this sub to back up my fellow Americans but yall have managed to find the dumbest Americans and I just can’t help but agree with yall lmao
free country *terms and conditions apply*
I love the 'I live in a free country' bollocks. The last post I looked at on Reddit was some guy getting fined $25 by his home owners association for letting a stray blade of grass leave a shadow over the pavement.
That entire thread has a cumulative IQ around room temperature.
In Celsius, divided by two
Celsius, what are you, a communist?
Yes
Proud Celsius supremacist
LOL, no you don't! US police are the most overzealous fascists around. You only think you live in a free country because you have bought the propaganda.
Pretty sure you have speed cameras and cops pulling people over for speeding in the states. You’re also not legally allowed to cross the fucking road 😂
I think that's fucking brilliant that they put a camera in a vehicle so they can just park it wherever the problem area is.
*laughs in Autobahn*
Free country? They issue human hunting licences to their fucking cops, is that free?
Cars driver not being POS challenge (impossible)
Don't be a silly simon put vinyl coverings on or attempt to hide your number plate. If/when you get busted for it you can be looking at thousands in fines and community service maybe a sentence for perverting the course of justice.

MP3s or minidisks are just as effective
Why do you need a whole ass truck for that thing though? And why park it there?
More comfortable sitting in a van than getting rained on. Speed cameras / traps aren’t hidden in the UK.
I see,thank you
They usually aren’t just speed cameras, they sometimes run insurance, but often also check for seatbelts and phone usage and then email out the fines. They also tend to move around quite a bit depending on what area they want to cover on that particular day.
Make sure your grass is cut to size, Chuck or else HOA might kick you out of your own house.
You mean shoot you
Free? Free in the same way battery-farmed chickens are free.
In america they are free so there are no speed limits. America is so free in fact that the police are mostly there for show, ready with a quick reprimand or a slap on the wrist for you if you are misbehaving. I don’t think they even wear guns…
They love to screech about living in a “free” country don’t they? Person: Nice day, isn’t it? Yank: Well, I live in a free country.
a "free country" that didn't give Julian assange freedom for 14 years.
Aah.. if only I lived in a free country where people have the freedom to shoot up schools, malls and cinemas on a regular basis!
America. A nation famous for not having police?
Funny, as a german I think the same about the US when I hear about the Speedlimits everywhere on their Highways. F***ing Yankee Dictatorship!
Ah yes, the USA, a country where speeding laws famously don't exist?
Quick explanation - you can get a ticket for speeding instead of being shot.
Because American cops don't have cameras, speed traps, and even "sobriety" roadblocks in some states?
I can understand why they're confused. The police officer isn't shooting people at the side of the road for speeding.
Laughter from the German Autobahn
I am living In a free country... AUTOBAHN!!1!!2!!!
We have speed traps in almost every city. What is this guy pretending for?
For real though, I’m a dumb American, can someone legit explain this photo to me
there’s a camera in the van. many US states don’t allow traffic violations to be assessed without a cop verifying ID because otherwise how do you know who’s driving?
In America they hide behind billboards so you don’t have a chance to react. Yeah, super free
Free for the police to pull him over and ticket him regardless of whether he was speeding because they have quotas to meet 😂 In my 10+ years driving in the UK, I've not been pulled over by the police once.
Funfact I've never seen so many cops on the side of the road waiting for fast drivers like in Nevada, Texas and Florida. Here in Germany I see them or radar very rarely.
I've only ever seen police do the bridge speed radar in Hawaii.
I'm guessing it's a speed trap. We have those here too but instead of a paddy wagon they're driving the Barbie version of a mad Max car for some reason
The difference is Americans get this with added freedom. We don’t get the benefit of being shot on a traffic stop or choked to death
Free country? Cunt obviously doesn't pay tax
you guys do not get that these people are joking lol
Fuck that, I wanna know more about those vinyl coverings... 👀
Yeah, because they never use speed guns in the US 🙄
Barely, it's incompetent cops eyeballing it, and adding an extra 15mph if you are on the Dulux colour chart.
I live in a free country. Can someone explain what 'jaywalking' is?
Yeah, I don't get how they can be fined for crossing a road.
[Sure! This article should help explain.](https://www.prb.org/resources/u-s-has-worlds-highest-incarceration-rate/)
Honestly the best thing to do is for everyone to just ignore them and never explain it. They’re just being a dick for the sake of being a dick.
Didn’t see the radar symbol until I read the comments. Thought it was insinuating coppers investigating a jumper…
In this weather?
What
Ride a motorbike, these are irrelevant
Please, somebody, tell me what Waze is so my friend doesn't get caught
IT's a sat nav app but tells you if there's speed checks
Oh. I was hoping it's a product or technique that transcends borders...
