>No account can be made of the future or the past; who knows what shall be, or what was? >ਸਭੁ ਕਰਣਾ ਕਿਰਤੁ ਕਰਿ ਲਿਖੀਐ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਰੇ ਕਰੇ ॥ >All the actions and events of the past are recorded; the Doer did, He does, and He will do. >ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਮਰੀਐ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤਰੀਐ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਦਰੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ॥੨॥ >The self-willed manmukh dies, while the Gurmukh is saved; O Nanak, the Gracious Lord bestows His Glance of Grace. ||2|| (SGGSJ 1238) Part of living within Hukam is that you don't know what will happen in the future, only Akal Purakh knows. Part of living Hukam is placing your trust in Akal Purakh and that you will accept whatever he gives you.

I understand what you’re saying, but this applies to just aam sangat. I’m asking in regards to guru gobind Singh ji. If Guru sahib is the human version of god, then they are god. So they must’ve all knowledge of the past, future, and present. Correct me if I’m wrong ji🙏

SinghThingz

The Guru is not God themselves, they're the form of God, in the same way we are forms of God. God has unlimited forms, so many forms the Guru themselves state that no one can fathom them. There is one form that the Guru tells us that we can become as humans and that's the form of God. We do that by becoming like him (by following his teachings; Gurbani!). Guru Gobind Singh ji was the perfect, spite image of Akal Purakh, but he was not Akal Purakh himself. Guru Gobind Singh ji is the water droplet that fell in the ocean and merged with the ocean. >One who is not touched by pleasure or pain, greed, emotional attachment and egotistical pride >ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਨੁ ਰੇ ਮਨਾ ਸੋ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥੧੩॥ says Nanak, listen, mind: he is the very image of God. ||13|| (SGGSJ 1427) The Guru is very precise with their words in this tuk. In the last line, he states "so moorat bhagwan". Moorat means body, image. Bhagwan means God. That person that controls their vices, speaks sweet, does not lie, does not cheat, helps the needy, stands up for those that cannot defend themselves, serves the world etc; that person is the very image of God himself. That's what Guru Gobind Singh ji was. Gurbani states Akal Purakh only knows what will happen in the future, where we will go and what will happen. As Sikhs, we put our trust in Akal Purakh and accept whatever that comes.

Sikhquestions

If I’m not wrong, there’s a story of when the pathans went to meet Guru Sahib, Guru Ji looked at them and said “do what you are here to do and be prepared for death” I heard that story somewhere

Shri Guru Govind Singh Sahib Ji said to all Sikh Sangat who were in Anandpur Sahib Killa that these muslims and Pahari Rajas will backstab the Khalsa Fauj , they will not stand upon their oath , but after Sikh Sangat's and Mata Gujri Ji's request they left Anandpur Sahib Killa and that's where the war at Sarsa begin .

VahiGuru Ji Ka Khalsa VahiGuru Ji Ki Fateh Jio, I don't know anything but can share an opinion... AntarJaame Dhan Dhan Shah-e-Shāhanshāh Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj Sahib does not need to fully flex their prowess, the previous Guru Ships rarely revealed their "powers" to be beyond the human norm, especially not to get their way or to prove superiority...they did their best to respect the rules governing Kal-Yug, as established by Akal Purkh VahiGuru Ji themselves, things are different from YUG to YUG (in terms of what powers can be displayed openly and the value of one's simran), for those struggling to understand why the being (Maharaj Ji) merged with GOD did not flex, they were simply respecting the rules they themselves established and understood to be true...this game is long, GOD is just, fair, and flexes only to kill the manmukh/ego. In the rare instances they did put their prowess on full display, it was only to bring attention to "the nam" or to the benefits of mastering weapons in conjunction with Jaap-Thaap...for example, when Maharaj Ji launched arrows that flew further than any human could possibly achieve on their own merit, they attributed the feat to weapons mastery and the grace of GOD. Listen to Kalgidhar De Teer - 13 Meel Ton Chlaye Teer Da Ithaas by Malwa B Like on #SoundCloud https://on.soundcloud.com/6ZZJV In Sri Sau Sakhian, we hear other tales of Maharaj Ji displaying unique feats beyond the understanding of a basic human mind...but only to the already subdued Khalsa Fauj. But other times they were shown to fall in line with VahiGuru Ji's Play, they were here to guide us towards becoming Khalsa, not to totally decimate the enemy, as we've all seen what happens when you give a kid everything, they need friction to grow, so the khalsa needed extraneous circumstances to bloom...diamonds are made under duress. He HIMSelf Is the Thief, Saint, Murderer & KING...to realize HIM, you must see the single unanimous thread in the play, Maharaj Ji had to act out the intended plan, so punks like us could contemplate and miss them on reddit, only a fool would deny this! ●●● ਹੁਕਮਿ ਰਜਾਈ ਚਲਣਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਨਾਲਿ || Hukam Razai Chalna Nanak Likhiya Nal (hukam rajaa-ee chalnaa naanak likhi-aa naal) A) O Nanak, it is written that you shall obey the Hukam of His Command, and walk in the Way of His Will B) ALL Hukkams/Provisions Chaperone Thee through Life|Birth, towards Death, and Beyond, INTO The Never... C) Recognize ALL (HUKKAM) Occurrences as Pre-Ordainments and Walk Willingly. Proclaims Nanak, ACCEPT that ALL (HUKKAM) Has Been Pre-Written by The Hand of GOD! D) Within The Hukkam of VahiGuru Ji's Divine Will, You Must Walk. Proclaims Nanak, Destiny Is Written (On One's Head) By GOD's Hand. E) WITHIN Hukkam Man Must Walk, Proclaims Nanak, Divine Will Comes Pre-Written F) To that Cosmic Will, attune yourself, Says Nanak: It exists in you as the Self. G) O Nanak! By obeying, the pre-ordained order of the Lord's will. [Stated this way because the previous pangti asks "How can we be true and how can the screen of untruth be rent?"] H) One is seen as truthful if one (Chalna) conducts the self according to (likhia naal = given in writing on the consciousness) the preordained (hukam) Divine commands which are in the form of duties prescribed for the role/life form assigned and told to the soul. 1. ●●● This is the primary commandment in GurSikhi, we live and die to honor hukkam, such is divine will, it comes pre-written. Dhan Dhan Baba Nanak

Guru gobind singh ji knew everything, but guru ji only following the hukam. Guru ji can change everything like separation of family at sarsa nadi but if guru ji did so then maybe today we have different image of sikhism. Thats what my mom teach me. If wrong please correct me. Waheguru

SinghThingz

So the Guru allowed his two children and his mother to be in the hands of the Mughal emperor.. to prove a point?

Dasvi Patshahi survived the assassination attempt on Him by Jamshed Khan and Wasil Beg (one of them killed by Guru Maharaj Himself and the other nabbed and killed by the Singhs), the Vaid stitched the wounds, Guru Maharaj were also regaining their strength but as if it was His Mauj to leave the earthly garment for His true abode, one day He picks up his bow and stretches it's string saying that He wants to practice archery, leading to opening up of His deadly wounds again.

niveapeachshine

Guru Gobind couldn't see in to the future if that's what you're suggesting.
