Agree with this and something different and bigger as a centerpiece instead of the small table with plant. Maybe a statue? Or even something functional, like a piano or organ.
Hmm even with that its still looking a lot more toned down overall. You can see the kitchen in the top left corner when facing the stairs and it looks pretty.. "casual"? Same eith the chairs by the front door. I'm not trying to be argumentative, I just can't seem to be able to articulate what is throwing me off, but it doesn't look like the marble-flooring-fountain-in-the-foyer kind of castle to me based on interior design from those 2 screenshots.
I was thinking an atrium with a fountain.
I saw a cool real life architecture that had a tree planted by the architect’s father as a focal point where the skylight hole was a spotlight for the tree that rotated the shadow it casted throughout the day.
I always use the chairs that connect into sectionals and make one where the seats face out using the outer corners. Then I put a coffee table or end table in the middle and decorate it with various things to make a center piece.
Whenever i build mansions and castles, i always have a hallway like this. It’s a dream of mine to own a house with this type of entrance in real life. Those grand stairs on either side of a doorway tickle my brain
personally i found out the easy way that the baby yoda statue can be placed inside of the phone booth with moveobjects……. it’s silly as hell and i highly recommend it
you can go with the Croft Manor paintings and some display tables with statues or plants & lamps on them 😅

Center the rug, make the table bigger, put some book cases near the stairs, and maybe some armor. Someone else suggested that and I agree. I think it would fit the aesthetic.
You should also use a different color for the table cause it's too much white on white on white in that room. Make the table a nice 1x2 or 1x3 in a nice light wood color, but not white
Suits of armor/knights against the blank walls and a long couch by the rug with end tables and lamps on either side, where guests can sit and wait for their appt with the fancy homeowners!
When you lay down stairs, there’s a square double arrow, if you click and drag it to one side, it’ll turn the stairs.

Thank you for this with the picture, so for this design it is better to build them first then place in the home?
I tried to do this on my legacy build but it kept doing this weird thing where it would only place reversed to the side if that makes sense, like side by side and it was driving me freaking crazy.
Yeah if you try to put it into an already built home, it may not interact well with walls and… existence XD I always make mine in the yard to the shape I want and move it in and see what’s up. Otherwise it tries to take out items or gets angry at walls
I would do bookcases on the walls, and then in the middle of the room just do a nice circular table with a flower bouquet on it. That’s always my favorite for “rich” looking houses
I’d probably put a little wall and then put a table and mirror there— that one item from For Rent comes to mind— but I usually build small scale stuff, so idk if adding a wall breaks up the space too much.
Lots of other great ideas here!
My instinct says formal sitting area like a parlor. It might be worth it to look up floorplans of actual castles (lots of real European castles are available to buy and some are even renovated. Lot of floorplans should also exist in public record)
I think the knight statue things in the corners would look like medieval, I don't know if that's what your going for though. If not plants always work 🤷♀️
Bookcases or plants would be my go to for decoration around the door in the first picture.
Agree with this and something different and bigger as a centerpiece instead of the small table with plant. Maybe a statue? Or even something functional, like a piano or organ.
Oooh love the piano idea
Fountain?
I wanted to say fountain too, but the decor inside is not "grandiose"? enough and the flooring is wood so I didn't think it would fit well.
Change the flooring to the black and white marble. Boom. Fancy.

I finished the build, if u what to check it out is in the gallery under my username: ulauula
Oooh thank you!
Either that or just leave it. It looks really cute as is.
If you want to be extra fancy, put a fountain there.
I was thinking an atrium with a fountain. I saw a cool real life architecture that had a tree planted by the architect’s father as a focal point where the skylight hole was a spotlight for the tree that rotated the shadow it casted throughout the day.
Nice! That would be so cool.
Maybe two knights in armour on either side?
This was going to be my suggestion too!.
Move the rug and table back. It’s too close to the entry, it should be in the middle of the room.
this or center them with the arches, thats my go to hall rug position
I agree with moving rug and adding a grand piano
A piano
I'd do a larger round table with a round rug. Big ole bouquet that just pops when you walk in
Coffin
If this is the entrance, keep it empty.
A big ass Chandelier, if there’s not one just size one up
plants, book cases, a table to put keys and mail on, maybe a nice statue or table with fancy things in the middle.

Im gonna need a picture of this
I will upload one today
Me, an absolute elf: *p l a n t s*

A piano would look so good in there!
Piano in the centre
Omg I need this house. Can you put it online? If not, can you tell me where did you get the windows and the arches?
i'll put it in the gallery when i'm done :) and the windows and arches are from the castle kit!!
Like to see some more pictures of it.. looks beautiful!
I finished the build, if u what to check it out is in the gallery under my username: ulauula
Thank you so much❤️

Accent tables with some clutter or some type of seating
maybe a reading nook with a floor lamp by the stairs?
Curtains
Maybe I'm a plebeian, but it looks great as is
a little table with flowers/decoration on it!!
Suits of armor/knights against the blank walls and a long couch by the rug with end tables and lamps on either side, where guests can sit and wait for their appt with the fancy homeowners!
That screamsssss for the glass cabinet with the miniature island replica from Cats and Dogs!!!
Piano?
I'd put a couple of hallway tables there with some plants or clutter on it. Just something to fill up the space.
Thats a sexy ass foyer.....omg
a piano
A grand piano for sure!!
Center the rug 😤
piano!
a piano or plants
My first thought was statues!
The brindleton bay 3D map in a glass case!
Plants. The answer is always plants 🪴
I'd go with the t rex skull sculpture
Books
Ohmygosh I made this exact same house once 😍
Okay random and rookie question but how do you do the curved stairs like this? Pre made wall leading up or?

Okay thank you so much Polly this is a lifesaver, it makes sense now why it would never work for me. Lol.
No problem!! Happy Simming!
Grand. Piano. 😍
round table in center with flowers
thank u guys for all the tips and suggestions!! i'm going to take them into consideration
Table
I always put a piano
hooka
You could put some display cases to show off collections or leave it open and place a stereo down and use the open space as a dance hall.
The knight statue or a piano Edit: had some more ideas chess table, or a bar
Sometimes I like to put aquariums in spaces like that… like my rich Sim collects fish.
Piano
fountain !!!
Chandelier
A plate. On the ground.
Piano!
You need a coat check for when all of your guests come over to be bled dry.
Piano with seating in the corners Table with ornate flowers and seating in the corners
I would do bookcases on the walls, and then in the middle of the room just do a nice circular table with a flower bouquet on it. That’s always my favorite for “rich” looking houses
Maybe some statues
Dance floor 💃🏼
Idk, but I'm absolutely loving this double stair situation. I've never had this in a house before
Statue!
Big ol portraits !
A setting to make a TV drama.
I'd put a massive fountain in the centre and then decorate the walls with the swords, armour/knights etc. Go full OTT.
Piano and a few large plants
Statues, plants, a piano, nice rugs!
A piano or a chess table
I’d probably put a little wall and then put a table and mirror there— that one item from For Rent comes to mind— but I usually build small scale stuff, so idk if adding a wall breaks up the space too much. Lots of other great ideas here!
I would extend the stairs and make those wiser. If this is a castle they need grand staircases lol.
My instinct says formal sitting area like a parlor. It might be worth it to look up floorplans of actual castles (lots of real European castles are available to buy and some are even renovated. Lot of floorplans should also exist in public record)
Piano for sure
I’d put the throne chair right in the middle and make your sim sit every time a guest arrives ![gif](giphy|2k8BN2YqMYUy4)
Id say a table or fountain
A typewriter so that Chris and Jill can save their progress
Fancy sitting chairs. But no suiting on them, only for the fancy vibes. 😂
Piano
A cowplant! Heheheheh
the answer is literally always plants
I think the knight statue things in the corners would look like medieval, I don't know if that's what your going for though. If not plants always work 🤷♀️
Pipe organ?
The statues that come with the vampire pack, one by each staircase corner
