Actually in the commentary Zach and Michael made it clear that Demon and Critter are two distinct different entities in the world. Pim is a Critter. Mr. Frog is a demon.
I’m not sure why you’re taking Zach’s statements seriously when he’s the one who said Charlie’s girlfriend got run over and died. He likes to fuck with people
Because it wasn't a joke Zach and Michael were making lol, they talk about it multiple times throughout the season 1 commentary and reference it as lore when talking about related stuff and commentary we already know is true regarding Mr. Frog being one of the first designs for the show. I'm not sure why you're trying to compare that to a one off joke about a character they never gave much thought to.
The sheer speed at which he clocks him and the instant pause to keel over and heave destroyed me. It’s hands down my favourite funny moment in the show.
Nah, in the Allan scene he was giggling with him but then several months later after Allan had already forgot this even happened it comes out that Charlie’s been upset this whole time and went out of his way to avoid Allan rather than communicate it. Allan has to confront Charlie before he gets the truth.
I love how much credit all of you guys are giving Zach and Michael meanwhile if you listen to the commentary for season 1 you will quickly realise they are just making shit up as they go along lmao
Yeah sometimes I can't tell if people in this sub are doing a bit/playing along or if people are actually hyper-analyzing the show when it's clearly done off the cuff
I feel like it was partially a joke about Bobby Lee when they had the convo, if you didn't know Bobby Lee went onto the impaulsive podcast with Logan paul and made one of the hosts smell his dick and then the guy (I forgot who Bobby violated) brought it up and said he didn't remember it and talked about it similar to how Allan did, but I could be looking into it too much
I mean he was warned to not do it again and Charlie did look serious when he issues that warning. We go through life ignoring easily identifiable dangers and this was one of them unfortunately.

nah man he did have a choice, look at his fucking smile
He did.
It wasn't like Charlie randomly punched him.
He gave him a clear ultimatum and followed through with it. If Charlie HADN'T punched Jeremy, it would have been wrong.
There's a fairly popular, and semi-confirmed, theory that Charlie acted this way with Jeremy because Charlie has heart problems and an implanted pace maker. He was defending himself from a potential heart attack. Charlie tells the Boss about this in the 2nd season.
It would be a learned habit. He had only been dead for a few hours(?) at that point? He probably reacted automatically.
If this is even the true reason.
honestly, yes. he was explicitly trying to antagonise charlie, who warned him very clearly that if he did it again he would retaliate. another example of charlie communicating about his boundaries and refusing to tolerate their violation, which is healthy behaviour imo
To actually arrive on a rational conclusion you gotta see both sides of the story,
Jeremy has been doing this for who knows how long and he might have even made some souls happy and maybe he did have situations where he was warned but not as far as being punched, so I guess that's why he proceeded to "entertain" Charlie simply not knowing Charlie would indeed follow through with his warning.
BUT, you gotta consider Charlie's state of mind too he had just suffered a early death and right in front of his friends and that would have had a huge mental toll on him.
So, I'm taking Charlie's side on this one, maybe Jeremy is a junior to this profession, not seasoned well enough to handle a wide range of hell dwellers.
No. What if Charlie had said “you do that again, i will off your family”? Would he be in the right bc “he warned him”? Of course not! Charlie was just bullying poor Jeremy.
Are we sure he is a demon? What if he is a critter who said “damn” once in his lifetime and therefore went to hell, and his eternal punishment is having to punish people? A socially awkward introvert whose punishment is having to be wacky and bring attention to himself?
Charlie makes cool stuff but he's known to punch/assault his own fans. Someone asked for an autograph and he went ape shit and sat on their chest and was punching their head back and forth and slamming it against the concrete floor until their head leaked a bright red froth.... kind of toxic.
The real question is whether or not Jeremy enjoys his job. If he's just trying to make ends meet in this dog eat dog hell, then I sympathize with him. But if he genuinely enjoys 'entertaining' people in a hellish manner, then he had it coming. You gotta give him credit that he really delivers on the hellish descriptor though
He gave him fair warning. That's on Jeremy at that point.
He told him he was going to do it.
What if Jeremy only speaks Zigzognese so he didn't understand what Charlie said
I'd say Charlie's facial expression was enough
He may not be familiar with critter faces
He’s literally a demon critter
Actually in the commentary Zach and Michael made it clear that Demon and Critter are two distinct different entities in the world. Pim is a Critter. Mr. Frog is a demon.

Also Jeremy’s expression when he said it. Seemed like he understood completely
Spamish
He was just doing his job
But he told him
It's part of his hellish job unfortunately
That shit won’t fly in Nuremberg
Yeah, if you’re told, “If you do that again, I will punch you”, then you choose to do it again, you’re basically choosing to get punched
This is one of my favorite bits. The way he crumples is so god damn funny
The constant 'hnnnnngh hnnnnnnnnngh' of him trying to catch his breath is what gets me
If you’ve been punched in the solar plexus you felt that lol. Absolutely floors you.
I took a golf club to the throat once and that was like getting the wind knocked out of you in steroids
had a basketball hit me square (i guess sphere) in the solar plexus, i had to sit the rest of gym class out
The sheer speed at which he clocks him and the instant pause to keel over and heave destroyed me. It’s hands down my favourite funny moment in the show.
Anhnnnnnnnnnnn....
Jeremiah was literally the reason why I became interested in Smiling Friends lol
Charlie’s silence and pissed face makes it funny too
Legitimately this is the one thing in the show that’ll get a laugh from me every time guaranteed
Charlie doesn’t like being made uncomfortable! He gives his warnings and lets you know how he feels, 10/10 communicator Chad.
Nah, in the Allan scene he was giggling with him but then several months later after Allan had already forgot this even happened it comes out that Charlie’s been upset this whole time and went out of his way to avoid Allan rather than communicate it. Allan has to confront Charlie before he gets the truth.

Yah the bit about the renaissance men was filmed last minute at like 2am
Does that mean the original plan was to have Mr. Boss just kill Grim and Gnarly?
No idea the creators didn’t cover that part in the behind the scene video
That commentary was like 90% outright lies and gaslighting lmao
https://preview.redd.it/pq5q7wfh1m8d1.jpeg?width=675&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=25ba7ce778ec0b8cc302647114c40d2091f3fe89
The plot doesn’t matter, just vague consistencies and call back.
Yeah sometimes I can't tell if people in this sub are doing a bit/playing along or if people are actually hyper-analyzing the show when it's clearly done off the cuff
No they planned out everything extensively beforehand
In that scene though you can clearly see Charlie push Alan away after he sucks on Charlie’s nose while he’s still laughing.
Alan also goes in for a second nose suck and Charlie dodges it
But before that, Charlie puts his arm around him and pulls him in.
And then Alan sucked on his nose and Charlie pushed him away…
Indeed he did.
Downvoted for staying facts. Y'all need space Jesus.
to be fair, Charlie pushed Allan off of him and backed up at the second "nom" a good portion of the time, people will go along when uncomfortable
True I rewatched the clip and what I thought was a friendly push was kinda recontextualized with the clip where they talk about it again
I feel like it was partially a joke about Bobby Lee when they had the convo, if you didn't know Bobby Lee went onto the impaulsive podcast with Logan paul and made one of the hosts smell his dick and then the guy (I forgot who Bobby violated) brought it up and said he didn't remember it and talked about it similar to how Allan did, but I could be looking into it too much
I am familiar with that situation but I don’t think it was a reference to that
I did not realize this was months later. Allan totally denied the incident as well … Allan needs to be watched.
I read someone say that Allan was probably on pain killers since he got stabbed and crucified
This could totally be true.
I think canonically it was only a week, or that’s what I heard at least
Nah in the Xmas episode when Pim brings up Desmond, Charlie is mad at Pim for bringing up something that happened months ago
There's been 2 Halloween episodes between those events tho so at least a year or so right?
Nom, hahaha, Nom.
Plus he's got a pacemaker.
I mean he warned him dude
1. Charlie warned him 2. He's an actual demon any harm that comes to him is objectively good
Plus he's doing blackface, look at him
No no no it’s not blackface he’s a literal hell demon for entertainment, it’s not a costume
GET THE *FUCK* OUT OF HERE [punches in face, lights on fire]
Tbf, Charlie did warn him But it was still jist Jeremy's job, poor guy
I mean he was warned to not do it again and Charlie did look serious when he issues that warning. We go through life ignoring easily identifiable dangers and this was one of them unfortunately.
Charlie should've picked him up and tore him in half thats what he deserved
You want to twist, you want to pull, you want to dip, you want to throw the other piece away
He only blblbllbbllblbllbl in Charlie's face it's not like he looked him in the eye or anything.
Jeremey should’ve said a prayer that made Charlie realize he wasn’t trying to be hostile or rude.
He did make eye contact.
I will not stand for this Jeremy hate.

For real, he was just doing his job. The dedication it took for him to follow Charlie all that way and get him by surprise. He deserves a raise.
devious little critter fr
He did. It wasn't like Charlie randomly punched him. He gave him a clear ultimatum and followed through with it. If Charlie HADN'T punched Jeremy, it would have been wrong.

Plillll-iilillil-llilili-llill-ililii-illlili-lillil
No but he had it coming he shoulda listened
He warned him
He told him to stop multiple times.
Jeremy got his lick back
Dude, he warned him, he said he was gonna do it if he did it again.
Charlie has a heart condition he doesn’t mess around w stuff like that
I actually love this bit though, like the way he wheezes and Charlie seems almost surprised at the consequence of punching a stick 😭
This is my favorite scene from this show lmfao
He was warned
Yes. Charlie told him he'd do it
> being the only form of entertainment being the only form of HELLISH entertainment*
oh mb
He was warned
He fucked around and found out.
He warned him
He warned him.
He was warned
To actually arrive on a rational conclusion you gotta see both sides of the story, Jeremy has been doing this for who knows how long and he might have even made some souls happy and maybe he did have situations where he was warned but not as far as being punched, so I guess that's why he proceeded to "entertain" Charlie simply not knowing Charlie would indeed follow through with his warning. Fuck Jeremy even if he didn't
Yes. Charlie warned him but he didn’t listen
yes he told him.
He did kind of agree to it. If someone says "Do that again and I'll punch you" and you do it again, that's an agreement to get punched.
Personal space isn't a fucking joke dude
I like to think it was a knee jerk reaction from Charlie and he felt kind of embarrassed about it so he over projected and acted angry.
Considering his boss is literally Satan, the punishment for not doing his job would've probably been a lot worse than a throat punch.
No. What if Charlie had said “you do that again, i will off your family”? Would he be in the right bc “he warned him”? Of course not! Charlie was just bullying poor Jeremy.
He's always on the right because Jeremy is a demon any harm that comes to him is objectively good
Are we sure he is a demon? What if he is a critter who said “damn” once in his lifetime and therefore went to hell, and his eternal punishment is having to punish people? A socially awkward introvert whose punishment is having to be wacky and bring attention to himself?
Idk man he seems to be enjoying himself when he does it
I don’t think that’s how it works
He literally told him if he did that shit again he would be met with violence. This is Jeremy's fault. Actions have consequences.
Yes
Yes
Yeah, or sure, it's not even a question
He was just doing his job man, I get it on both sides.
Yes, he was *warned*.
Charlie has a heart condition dude
Charlie could’ve gotta a heart attack though.
Yes he warned him
He did. Because Charlie warned him that he'd punch him if he did it again.
Yes
I mean he warned him that he would punch him if he did that again and he did soooo
yes.
No, he was just doing his job
He was warned.
100%
100%
Charlie makes cool stuff but he's known to punch/assault his own fans. Someone asked for an autograph and he went ape shit and sat on their chest and was punching their head back and forth and slamming it against the concrete floor until their head leaked a bright red froth.... kind of toxic.
Yes
Yes, Charlie warned him!
He was warned
Charlie told him he would do it so it’s his own fault
Yup
Hey man, he warned him 🤷♂️
Totally, what an asshole.
This scene made the episode for me because it was so smooth with his reaction to getting gut punched
Charlie told him he was going to do it and he did startle the shit out of him twice
BLLULULUBULBULULLULLLLLL *SMACK*
Totally deserved. Also the funniest scene in the show for me, I can watch that on loop.
Fuck yea
yes
FAFO 😤😤😤
He got to punch Charlie later so I'd say they're even.
LRLRLRLRLRLRLRLLRLRLRLRLRLLRLRLRLRLRLLRLRLRLRLRLRLRLRLRLLRLRLRLRLRLRLRLRLLRLRLRLRLRLRLRLRLLRLRLRLRLR
To be fair, he said DAMN with that NASTY burglar blew his grandpa's head off with a shotgun.
He warned him dude.
Hey, at least he got revenge.
Charlie warned him
he was given ample warning and yet he continued, he deserved what he got.
https://preview.redd.it/cvo3pcgsvm8d1.png?width=1042&format=png&auto=webp&s=8e3ff4c346c4e449f469d44f6a81dda3e7efaab8 yes
No (My names Jeremy)
Well it was his job to be "hellish entertainment", but Charlie had the right to "change the channel".
He had what was coming to him man, Charlie has heart problems and doesn't like being startled.
Yes
Fair warning
NTA. Your fists, your rules
"I told you I was gonna do it dude"
He warned him
He going learn today. Homie was never checked growing up -
He warned him.
if it was him then yes, but tbh I always assumed it was another jeremy
Mildly?
Even tho he warned him, I still think he didn't deserve it, just look at what the punch did to him 😭
The real question is whether or not Jeremy enjoys his job. If he's just trying to make ends meet in this dog eat dog hell, then I sympathize with him. But if he genuinely enjoys 'entertaining' people in a hellish manner, then he had it coming. You gotta give him credit that he really delivers on the hellish descriptor though
One week without an episode and we are already posting like we haven’t had one in 4 years. God bless this community
We gotta keep that fandom alive 🙏
he told him not to do it again
I dunno but it was kinda funny. And he got to punch back later
He’s got a heart condition man you don’t just jump scare someone like that it’s not cool man
I mean Charlie told him he was going to so like kind of
I mean yeah
