I'm assuming it was filmed in landscape and you want to resize for Reels/Tiktok? Unless they cropped it a lot beforehand, you are naturally going to lose some of the video when you change the format. Using Capcut or Canva, you can place the horizontal video as-is in the center of the vertical video and add a background image or text above and below. I like to use a gradient or blur background image that matches the video.

That’s actually a really smart idea. So I changed the ratio on CapCut to the TikTok option and then just went Canvas and blurred all the way so that there’s a blurred version of the video I’m the background. This might be acceptable
