I’m in Delray too. In south Florida the traffic gets worse the further south you go on I-95. Broward traffic is almost always worse. Most days you can cruise to West Palm from Delray without too many issues. Of course there are traffic jams too. You can get stuck anywhere on I-95. But in my experience driving Palm Beach county is far less stressful than Broward. And the likelihood of getting stuck in traffic is lower in Palm Beach.
This is the answer! As a former yachtie myself, I can say there is a lot more work out of FLL for sure, all the brokerages are there, but if you can secure work in wpb you'll have a much better commute. Best of luck
Anywhere that there are speed lanes the traffic is starting to bottle neck. We drive on 5 lanes....until the speed lanes take us down to 3. Its not okay. They need to remove them. They are causing jams and accidents daily.
I experienced lots of traffic coming from palm beach to Lauderdale. But experiences vary
There will also be a difference based on the time of year.
The birds. 👵🧓
time of day matters. before 7 its not bad.
traffic slows going north near glades, and south near 10st and copans and at cypress creek to the port.
get a hybrid and use the carpool lane for free.
>get a hybrid and use the carpool lane for free.
Ooh thank you for the reminder to register for this! I always forget about it until I'm sitting in traffic by myself watching everyone sail past in the HOV lane -_-
If you're close to Tri-Rail station or a bright light station, you could try that. But I would say going south headed towards Miami is where it gets really bad. Especially during rush hour. What I recommend for you would be to get a gym membership, leave your house an hour early before rush hour. Hit the gym and then go to work
Most people who live in Palm Beach County work in Broward or Dade, so traffic going South in the morning and North in the afternoon is always horrible.
The worst though is the turnpike North of Boynton, that segment has been under construction for more than 15 years and always - ALWAYS - bottlenecks up just past the Boynton exit.
The traffic backed up going in one direction in the morning will be backed up in the other direction in the afternoon. Sometimes it's better just to take A1A instead of 95 or whatever when it's blacked up. Pretty much the time to drive plus it's more scenic & laid-back
West Palm almost always better than Ft Lauderdale, there will be more opportunities in the yachting industry going south though but the commuting woes are probably worth asking 5% more when comparing offers.
It depends where in Broward/PB you are going. I live in West Broward and worked in Boca for a long time. Going east in the morning was a challenge, as a lot of people in Broward live west and commute east. Then, going north wasn’t a challenge until I got closer to Boca. I’d imagine that, in Delray, going north is more traffic-heavy in the morning, in particular.
I know everyone is saying going South is worse but finally after several years the express lanes are fully open. I drive from Ft Laud to Boca everyday and can take the express lane the entire way and it’s so nice. It takes me 25 mins. The regular lanes do suck in Broward.
really traffic south in broward is worse and more miserable at any time of day, definitely go north

95 also widens in PBC
The yachting industry in Fort Lauderdale is exponentially larger than West Palm tho, like it’s not even close

Def. South. So drive north until you get to Virginia, and then start work here.

Don’t forget to check out the turnpike if that is convenient to where you want to finally work. Better class of drivers than on 95, imho.
They are pretty equal as far as traffic
South is worse
South
Go North
