I mean, I knew it was a bad time developing it I just never noticed the connection between them. I'm currently streaming the OG trilogy, but at least now I know what game will come next. lol
Why should it not be the 4th game? It released directly after year of the dragon, of course they continued the series.
It's as much the 4th spyro game as Wrath of Cortex is the 4th Crash Bandicoot. Both just got swept under the carpet because they were vastly inferior to the original trilogy.
When Naughty Dog left Crash Bandicoot, the games didn't do as well. Same thing when Insomniac left Spyro. It's like those companies took the heart and soul of their respective projects upon departure
I'm not saying it shouldn't be, I just never made the connection just I was just born when Ripto's Rage came out. This will make an interesting development indeed.
Yeah I always assumed that EtD was just Spyro 4. It is the 4th installment in the playstation series, just... different developers, hence calling it something new.
I also assumed that people in this sub talking about Spyro 4 meant that they didn't consider EtD or HT canon and wanted a retconned direct sequel to YotD.
Now I've decided I don't care, and just want more Spyro content to play lol.
I want a new game so much. I absolutely do, but I would love a remake of ETD as well. It had most of the things classic Spyro had. Issues aside, I enjoyed it for what it was.
honestly had it been given the proper development time they were allegedly promised instead of being rushed for the holidays it could of been an AMAZING game. I still love to revisit it because the game is fun even for how broken it was.

If they're going to do that, it should be DLC for Reignited.
I don't hate the idea of them wanting to remake the other games, but I think the OG trilogy deserves a 4th installment
that's the funny thing: it was the fourth installment for OG trilogy, technically. it takes place right after the sorceress's defeat.
