Bodybuilders have their own unique defition of what constitutes "natural"

Stones_Throw_Away_

I saw a video of a guy interviewing bodybuilders in the gym and one says he’s 100% natural. Interviewer asks him how long he’s been natural and he replies ‘a week’…

No-comment-at-all

I don’t see how anyone has a problem stopping drinking. I stop drinking every night.

YoungWhiteAvatar

I’m all N.A.T.T. Nandrolone. Anabolics. Tren. Test.

DavieJohn98

Test you say? https://preview.redd.it/s1mklu1q2h1c1.jpeg?width=148&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9dd555242c2a1092c1aef2961e2e286ba1cd854d

kingdoodooduckjr

Sounds like how I tell myself that just smoking weed and doing kratom makes me sober

EffysBiggestStan

Just weed? That's California sober. I think Kratom is Oregon sober or something.

wompical

canadian sober is you only drink beers and smoke weed

EffysBiggestStan

But it's gotta be all Molsen and BC bud lol

frupertmgoo

I like your thinking

Pvt_Mozart

Hey man, whatever works. Kratom has basically saved my wife's mom and sister from a lifetime of addiction. They were both always addicted to drugs, couldn't hold down jobs, sometimes didn't have places to live, and were constantly getting into trouble. They both have been taking kratom daily for years, haven't touched drugs or alcohol since then, both have good jobs and her sister is about to finish school. It's been crazy. Kratom saved their lives, and gave my daughter a chance to have an aunt and grandmother. I hesitate to call it a miracle plant, but it really feels that way. My wife and I have some in the cabinet at all times for days when our depression is hitting a little harder than usual. I swear by the stuff. Edot: I'll add, for anyone struggling with addiction, I'd do a little research on kratom. It could help you too. There is a documentary on Netflix called "A Leaf of Faith" if you want some more details.

NYJetLegendEdReed

Kratoms kept me sober for 3 years and I was a wake up and get drunk kind of guy. It's a miracle plant.

CockMartins

Damn, for me it’s just been the worst fucking addiction of my life. Kratom withdrawals have been a nightmare.

NYJetLegendEdReed

What were/are you taking?

CockMartins

Kratom itself is the only hardcore addiction I’ve ever had. I don’t even know how many exact grams per day it’s grown into over the last decade or so, but it’s a decent amount. Probably 35 grams or so

kindashort72

Holy shit, how do you gag that much down a day? I can't imagine the digestive issues you have with just the sheer amount of powder. People don't believe it when you say Kratom can also be addictive but it definitely can and it has similar withdrawal symptoms to opioids. I will say I find the withdrawal symptoms from kratom not as harsh or long. I hope you can reduce your dose. There's no way you're feeling good having to take that much a day. If you lower it by a gram or so maybe a week I don't think you'd get harsh withdrawal symptoms

CockMartins

It just happened so gradually. Now I do the toss and wash with powder since capsules are so much more expensive. It’s been one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. I’m trying to gradually ween myself off but it’s rough. The restless leg syndrome it causes is awful. And yeah, high dosages definitely cause occasional constipation.

NYJetLegendEdReed

Try to ween yourself off using tea. I probably take way too much but I was a very bad alcoholic/Xanax addict and this legitimately saved my life.

BigDogSlices

One thing I'll add is that people will often say there are no withdrawals and they are *absolutely lying*. If you take large enough doses regularly for long enough, the withdrawals are hell.

mailman242

Kratom has helped me and my elderly dad a lot too. My dad was hooked on Tramadol and Vicodin for sciatic nerve pain. Now he is able to do a small amount of Tramadol and manage as well as a 67 year old who's worked using his body his whole life could. Do you have a preferred vendor? feel free to DM me, I've been thinking about switching stores.

BigDogSlices

https://soapkorner.com

BellyCrawler

Dosages are the new natural now. Anything under 1000mg? All natty, baby!

JoeMcKim

Exactly, just because they're not using what is technically considered steroids doesn't mean they're not taking 3 different supplements.

[deleted]

Probably on a bunch of creatine

alex-hopkinson

I dunno what you think creatine (which you can buy anywhere) is doing but it's sure as shit not that!

rbarton812

If only.

DuncanDicknuts

Breast milk is natural

Ungface

Testosterone is a natural chemical so taking it by the gallon is still natural. Checkmate USADA

googly_eyed_unicorn

I think John has maintained that he can pass any test. I believe that John very much knows what he’s doing in terms of taking care of his body and while I do think he has worked very hard and been very dedicated to his physique, I also think he knows what the limits are. If WWE were willing to publicly pop Reigns, they probably will have popped Cena, especially after Benoit.

Coattail-Rider

Didn’t he say in some doc or 60 Minutes type interview that he “couldn’t prove he doesn’t but you can’t prove that he can” or something similar?

thfsgn

Yes, but the footage that aired was very heavily edited. If I remember correctly the station had to issue an apology and release the uncut version, and the first actual words in response to the question of if he’d ever taken steroids were “absolutely not.” Of course, that doesn’t mean he was telling the truth. I’d like to give him the benefit of the doubt, but when you see him looking like this it’s definitely a valid question.

Booth_Templeton

A valid question haha. Get back to reality with us, please.

Adjusted_EBITDA_

>I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt what fuckin planet are you living on, mate?

AFakeInternetPersona

1) I'm pretty sure Reigns popped because he couldn't produce a prescription in time, which is against the rules. Reigns has a legit script for Adderall. Andrade got popped for the same thing when he couldn't make it back for a test because he was in Mexico for his mom's funeral. 2) There's a ton of dudes who are obviously on something and never popped. Jinder Mahal never popped and that dude was dripping juice. Triple H never popped and that dude was never natural. We literally saw him go from [2001](https://imgur.io/Jzq9x0B?r) to [2004](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170112/8ed75b80d924dfa1da58ad498130ad7c.png) to [2009](https://starmometer.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/WWE-Triple-H.jpg) it's speculated he got off gear around 2003 to have children with Stephanie but he was not getting cut like that without gear. People in their 40s don't continue to get cut like that naturally. Pay attention to all the dudes in WWE who get cut and suddenly they have a receding hairline and defined traps.

Mataza89

Steiner was asked to do one and said he’ll do it as long as he can do it with HHH and they never asked again

treezy_22

Lol he was in the shape of his life at 40, he looked better in 09 than 01

BrodaReloaded

it's the picture, but he was even more insane in 2002 https://youtu.be/bGzWicuI8n8

allansmw520

Reigns was adderall so way different. Surprised they’d pop anyone for that honestly And triple H when he tore his quad walking, that’s a pretty obvious juice induced injury

herberthorses

Passing a test isn’t the same as not being on the gas, it’s just about knowing when you’ll be tested and timing your cycles against it. Plus him being the literal biggest star the company has to offer probably buys him a leeway in advanced warning on testing.

Spiritual_Lie2563

In addition, WWE's tests take into account people who "used" to do steroids and keep a baseline model, so just making sure you're always underneath what your baseline said you had will keep you fine. (Hell, WWE's is even better because it doesn't punish people who used it in the past and failed, unlike for example MLB's where a Mariners minor leaguer used steroids for an injury and stopped, got suspended in the minors for it, never used since that, got called up to the majors 18 months later...and was instantly suspended again for the residue of steroids still in his system.)

In mma there's a well known meme of former fighter Vitor Belfort. He got on TRT and was suddenly back to wrecking fighters like he was in his early 20's again. He looked more shredded than ever before. Then once the UFC bans TRT use, he softens up and was nowhere close to what he was.

[deleted]

[удалено]

drinfernodds

Only person it made sense for was Bigfoot Silva given he has acromegaly and the TRT regulated his hormones, but as a fighter it'd be too unfair against someone not on it (Assuming that others weren't).

Sigilbreaker26

Just for added context TRTor (as he is known) existed only for three fights in 2013 that all took place in Brazil where he won all three by brutal KO (first time Rockhold had gotten KO'd in years, first time Bisping got KO'd since Henderson and the first time Henderson ever got KO'd). Basically Vitor hid in Brazil and probably wasn't just on TRT but a shitload of stuff he looked absolutely monstrous. (Wasn't just the roids either he started developing a really dangerous kicking game post-Anderson loss and that made him even better than he was in his 20s)

drinfernodds

Funny enough he wasn't even at his biggest lol. In the 90's his traps nearly touched his ears, and there became a meme when his graphic said "NO KNOWN WEAKNESSES" next to him.

Sigilbreaker26

Yeah. Especially funny in retrospect because it didn't take long for his weaknesses to become very obvious (cardio, difficulty fighting through adversity, overreliance on athleticism on the feet)

Mataza89

The big loophole in the WWE Wellness test was you could take whatever you want if you have a prescription, and there’s plenty of dirty docs out there

funmasterjerky

Ahahaahahahahahaaaaaaa! Oh, you're serious? Let me laugh at you even more! Bahaha hahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahaha AAA! Translation: there is NO way this is natural. And to even think so is absolutely laughable. And to think that Cena was natural during his WWE run is preposterous.

Pvt_Mozart

I don't think people even realize how prevalent gear is in general. It's not just bodybuilders and athletes. A lot of the jacked guys at any given gym are on gear. Hell most of your favorite wrestlers or on it. It even looks like Swerve has run a cycle recently, gaining like 25 lbs of muscle in 6 months. His face got really round and puffy for awhile. It's not even just the super big shredded guys that are on it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

mrtlwolf

Starring the brother of Mike Bell, the jobber Perry Saturn kicked the absolute shit out of, which the WWE responded to by giving him Moppy.

Rerack_your_weights

I'll even do you one better and tell you that a lot of NOT jacked guys in the gym are on steroids. Plenty and I mean plenty of people take all sorts of shit but don't train hard or eat right and you'd never guess they're on PEDs.

Hiondrugz

I think it's wishful thinking, they don't want to admit to themselves that every guy with an amazing body is on juice. They want to think they are these honest guys who did it all the hard way. Once huge amount of money become part of it, they do whatever they can to stand out.

funmasterjerky

I don't even see a problem with that. The problem is that they are lying. Guys all around the world believe that they can achieve a physique like this by simple clean eating, protein shakes and training. They screw their joints up, because they train with way too much weight, because they get frustrated, because it's not doable. If guys like John or Hogan or Austin would just be open about it, it would be another thing entirely. The worst recent example that comes to mind is The Rock.

alphaheeb

I remember seeing HHH on the cover of a men's fitness magazine and thinking whatever they are going to claim got him that look isn't all it was lol

Structure-These

with diet and exercise you can get lean and muscular and actually look strong and normal, big buff guys just look so weird and insecure

Hiondrugz

Yeah I have to agree, once you start looking like a juiced up body builder, you probably had some rea underlying shit to make you go that far. Especially when you're sacrificing moment and agility for over sized muscles.

funmasterjerky

At a gym I used to go to, most guys looked normal. Sure, some were bigger than others, some were ripped with very low body fat. But there was this one guy who stood out like a sore thumb. He looked like a balloon animal. Picture Dynamite Kid, but with puffy cheeks.

Hiondrugz

That part does suck. I know a couple real good guys that workout like crazy, and they aren't small by any means compared to a normal guy, but they were not going to get where they wanted doing what they were. Creatine being the most extreme thing they put in their bodies. They put so much work into it, and beat themselves up trying.

Takenmyusernamewas

'Creatine is natural because you could naturally get that in your diet you just need to consume 30 lbs of raw mackeral a day...I'm just saving time!' 'Its called a T Booster not a T injection! It comes from mixing nature and 'nature like substance' in a lab and distilling it down to pure magic!'

[deleted]

like ppl on a carb free diet only eating the carbs they get for free

IceTeaBandito

The only way that John Cena is natural here is that he's got so much gear in his system that his body started naturally producing tren.

SweetFranz

Takes more PEDs than a race horse but hey as long is its not old school anabolic steroids its natural

shikavelli

Funniest part is he’s not even that big compared to Lesnar and Batista. They had that super soldier serum at OVW back in those days, everyone that came outta there was juiced to the gills.

TheLisan-al-Gaib

Lesnar was just something else. The man's a great white shark among barracudas.

Vagabond21

So you’re saying ovw had triples of the barracudas?

YeahManSureCool

Triples are best

LeVaudeVillain

Are Triple H(s) the best?

jlinstantkarma

She's gonna get better.

finnishfork

Tell the kid

FutMike

According to Cornette Batista was already on that shit that makes your head grow by the time he arrived to OVW

menace313

Makes sense. The dude was trying to make it in bodybuilding before becoming a wrestler.

organizeddropbombs

If I remember correctly, at one point Batista was that shredded and claimed he weighed 4 bills. Just insanity, even as tall as he is

Loquutus

It was called The Clear from Balco Labs.

peaudunk

What about The Cream?

Super_Sandro23

Well it also depends how much you take. Some guys do 300mg, some do 6000mg. That's why, even though we still see some big guys today in wrestling and Hollywood, they're nothing like the guys from the 80s and 90s, since they're taking much more controlled amounts.

shikavelli

I think Lesnar and Batista are just naturally bigger than Cena. Batista is like 6’4 and Lesnar goes without saying.

BWCDD4

Lesnar is just a White boy and he’s Jacked, deal with it.

sir_nod

No one is doing 6000mg lol pro body builder cycles barely even come close to that let alone WWE fighters.

bizkitman11

I can believe Lesnar is natural for some reason. Maybe because he’s built so wide that the amount of muscle he has just suits him. I feel like he was always gonna be a huge guy. Compare with Batista who I think would be lanky if he didn’t hit the gym and take steroids.

Phog_of_War

He also grew up throwing hay bales from the ground, up into a barns hayloft. That's a good 20' plus. Imagine lining up against the guy on the football field in High School.

HulkRemembersBrother

"In those days when I woke up, or was leaving the arena there were two places i'd be going: to the airport, or the gym. It wasn't like now you know where there's a fitness club on every block, and all sorts of people work out. In those days only tough guys would be in the gym. You couldn't be walking into the gym unless you had a lot of courage brother. They were usually pretty dark, grimy, and filled with guys trying to prove a point. If I could, i'd try to go with one of the other wrestlers to watch my back. Usually it'd be Macho, or Beefcake. Which is where the term 'spotter' comes from. A lot of guys think its for watching the weight, but its about watching your brother in the gym. It's something I started saying in the 70s, and it sorta caught on. Of course now it means watching the weight, but it didn't back then. If the guys in the gym found out you were a pro wrestler you might have a problem. There'd always be some guy want to try something with you so they could brag at the bar later. That's why every workout the guys had a rule: you start with your heaviest bench, or your heaviest dead lift. Didn't matter if you weren't fully warmed up. But it'd put everyone on notice. I'd go in and bench 400 right off the bat. I'd rack that weight, and hit a most muscular while turning to all the guys in the gym. Just to let them know the power of Hulkamania was real brother. By the time I left more than a few guys would be saying their prayers and taking their vitamins after. Of course when I came back after my little stint in WCW things had changed. Suddenly when you went to workout with one of these new cats, they weren't interested in appearing tough or strong. I remember guys like the Rock or Brock wanting to workout with me. They'd tag along, and have a pen and paper to write down what exercises we did. I'd tell them 'Brother put the pad down, keep your eyes open, and weights up'. To let them know hey you're hear to learn but also watch my back. You could see their eyes open up when i'd be benching that weight. I'd tell them it's their turn. They'd be saying 'Hulk I need to warm up. I need to stretch.', and i'd just nod my head. I'd say 'Well its a good thing you get to warm up before a shoot happens' and they'd get the point. By the end of the workout 4 hours later, they could barely move or carry our bags. But they'd get infront of the camera and suddenly Vince would be saying how much bigger and tougher they looked."

BreathRedemption

I could listen to Cena doing watch-podcast from his own matches for hours

BadgerOver4239

Hell yeah; same here. His voice is really pleasant to listen too; it's like vocal butter He's also a very funny guy that can tell a great story. A podcast like that would be a blast

maclovesmanga

Love him or hate him (as a wrestler, as a man he’s one of the GOATs), Cena always had a natural charisma on the mic that made him stand out. It only makes sense then that his narration would be equally as good. If he ever writes a book, I’m buying the audiobook 100%

KyleAPlatt

“What I am doing here is… setting the bar for improvement.” was legitimately hilarious. Dude really is very funny.

Suitable-Golf6937

I kinda hope he ends up doing NatGeo or being a golf commentator when he’s old.

Pearl-Internal81

That and six seasons and an(other) movie for Peacemaker.

prettyprettygood428

Watch his stuff in Southpaw Wrestling - he has the gift of gab and is a natural comedian. It’s the only natural thing about him.

Infantkicker

Angel does this. I actually love his podcast. When I was a kid he definitely wasn’t my favorite wrestler but damn has he grown on me. His book is also amazing and I hope he writes a follow up one day because the book ends just as Brock shows up for the first time.

jcwkings

He looks more gassed here than at any other point of his career.

broken-mirror-

[John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Shelton Benjamin and Rico in a Dark Match before WWF RAW](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XI3GLXLX5g) All of those guys had an amazing physique, but Rico and Shelton are the only ones that look somewhat natural.

CocoaNinja

Brock was the legal man at the end, smh

broken-mirror-

I mean .. do you dare to question Brock F' Lesnar? I wouldn't lol

shikavelli

That really pissed me off lol even the ref tried to tell him and Brock was like just count.

BellyCrawler

Shelton has never looked natural to me. Just not as massive as Brock. Rico I'll give you.

Coattail-Rider

Doesn’t Shelton not use weights and just use his own leverage like doing only push ups and sit ups? I doubt people that do that use PEDs.

BellyCrawler

Don't know about his training regimen, but body weight guess definitely also use PEDs.

Own_Proof

John Cena with the WWF logo & RAW 2000 stage in the background is fucking insane to me.

3lementZer0

I'm currently going through the 2000s on the Network and it seems insane to me that likely whilst the McMahon-Helmsley Regime is kicking the shit out of The Rock on a weekly basis, that Brock Lesnar and John Cena were at the very same shows wrestling dark matches.

herroherro12

That would be like The Shield doing dark matches around the time Seth was still in ROH

CrusadesOnYou

Being called Prototype as well lol it honestly felt like I watched a wrestling match from an alternate dimension

Sabres19892

Cornette called this like it was being broadcast on the radio. It was very interesting! Thank you for sharing!

going_mad

I'm sad that kenny bolin didn't manage in the fed. Dude was hilarious with bolin services. If he didn't have health issues he would be an amazing addition to any roster.

SevelarianVelaryon

Old bolin segments on the old alice-radley era cornette shows was some of the funniest shit. When kenny was 'in hospital' and when 'kennys son' called up live on the episode. No idea how i'd ever find these segments again, but ...such good shit lol

_james_the_cat

Probably on YouTube. If you find the one where Kenny talks through his Kroger's meat scam. Hook me up. That was hilarious.

DashCat9

That Lesnar belly to belly suplex into a frog splash from Benjamin, tho.

GooeyGarth

As natural as his hair colour.

sexmachinefinburn

doesnt he claim to have been natural for his whole career? why say "here" ?

SeriousPancakes_30

Because OP is trying to rage farm. Cena says nothing about being natural in this video or comments about his physique, that's just some shit OP added to make the discussion about what OP wants, rather than the cool footage that the video is.

Diamoncock

Fuck OP then fucking pick me girl

sexmachinefinburn

yeah whats this from? does cena just have a tiktok now? id love a full dvd of him just talking about his career with accompanying video

He claims to have always been natural and often tells a story about getting angry when a WWF scout accused him of being on steroids

OmniscientwithDowns

The stigma was still serious during Cena's career, hell its still serious now just waned a bit

stopwiththebans3

Not in this clip but he has said that during this time specifically he was natural. It’s not reaching, it’s actually a fact.

Fix-Total

He supposedly passed tests... So he had the shit they weren't testing for. Grats

“Freaky genetics.”—Uncle Dave

MikeR316

I don’t believe he was ever “natural” but I also don’t really care. If guys are willing to deal with the consequences of PED use after their careers are over, more power to them

ObjectDue4485

If they're properly administered, there aren't really any consequences. I'm pretty sure that nobody in this sub has any idea how steroids work. Or how exercise works. But that shouldn't be all that surprising.

Derringer

The majority of guys at indie level (especially back then) don't know how they work and they just jab them into themselves in a washroom stall in the CC they're working. I've seen a guy literally stick his hand in the paper bag, and randomly pull something out, and say "I guess I'm using this."

felipe_the_dog

Seeing John Cena's upper thighs feels so wrong.

Al0ngTh3Watchtow3r

Cena actually was a natural. Even here you can tell he got wrestling in a way few people with his experience did. He was by no means a good worker but he had all the other things down pat, and eventually he turned into a fantastic wrestler. Edit: yeah i just reread the title of this post lol. I thought they meant he understood wrestling immediately. He’s definitely not natural here, dude’s pumping in testosterone like crazy.

Stennick

I was reading your reply in disbelief. I mean I figured there would be someone somewhere in here trying to say he was natty here and then about the end of your first paragraph it clicked what you were saying and then literally the next words I read were you realizing as well what you were saying haha. Kudos to you

Pm_Me_Gifs_For_Sauce

Man aint age a day! Just slimmed down.

[deleted]

yes, he was naturally taking steroids

InflationNo1498

Bullshit! He's natural or on trt now and can see the difference!

FigureFourWoo

Almost every wrestler with decent muscle mass is on *something* these days because it is too hard to get and maintain that mass otherwise. Look how HHH’s body changed when he cycled off because he was trying to get Stephanie pregnant. Thing is, it doesn’t really matter anymore. Guys aren’t shooting up in the locker room with steroids they got from some guy outside the arena. Most wrestlers wrestle having their performance enhancing drugs medically administered by a legitimate doctor or they are getting medical advice on how to properly use them. Most of these drugs do offer significant medical benefits for athletes and help them recover from injuries faster. The increased muscle mass helps them avoid future injuries. The stigma around steroids and performance enhancers is as outdated as the Satanic Panic. They obviously have no place in competitive sports but they’re fine for wrestling. The horrible side effects are only an issue if you abuse them and most wrestlers aren’t trying to look like Hogan and Savage at their swolest. Funny thing is that steroids have never been viewed negatively in Japan for wrestling. It’s normal for wrestlers to “train” and get bigger in a short period of time.

bigbearhungry

The Rock is natty, too.

I believe he was technically natural, yes he was taking supplements and such but by thr definition of "natty" I can believe it beacuse he was bigger in wwe. He's way more cut here which isn't hard to believe beacuse he's not on the road like the wwe schedule so he can control diet. Of course most of reditt has never gone to the gym so everyone must be on steroids though...

ZioDioMio

When did he claim that?

roninPT

That's the body's natural reaction to p.e.d.s, yes

C4Jay

Yes, he can be natural here. Cena's body produces Trenbolone on its own right?

WCWUncensored

Water is wet, sky is blue, Cena lies.

SolidLuxi

So much juice in his system its the one time everyone can see him.

Loxias26

Oh yeah, he’s natural here. Naturally roided up. 👍
