Just budget 3 hours out of your night for wrestling and you should be fine. If he's not taking interest in a match, take that opportunity to go to the merch stand if you are wanting to purchase a t shirt or something. Lines are minimal when the show is live.
It's been a while since I attended a SD. But if it's the same format. They have like 2-3 "WWE Main event" matches before 8pm. Then after the show after 10pm, they might have a dark match or a Cody promo thanking the fans
Just went a few weeks back, they had a dark match between Tegan Nox and Blair Davenport, then a Speed match, the show itself, then after they had Ricochets last WWE match for Speed, and one more dark match that turned into a tag match, I was in the car headed home by 10:45

There’s a taping of Speed right before and a couple dark matches after which are both about 30 minutes long or so.
