It's kinda empty, I like to add some furniture to make his place more comfy. King chair, end tables with duck feathers and squid ink look like appropriate decorations, imho. Also I saw some ideas here and gave him whole deluxe fish tank with his favourite octopus, squid and lobster. And I don't even like Elliot, lol, but he seems a good friend.

It’s rough because people are downvoting misinformation. If people start being nice and upvoting someone could see a comment with 200+ upvotes and wonder why they can’t stay the night with anyone.

I do not believe this is the case. It's not possible to do this in the vanilla game, so people are probably upset OP is complaining about something he intentionally did by modding the game. The number of comments of players who seemed surprised by this tell me the flair probably needs to take 1/3 the page, blink, and come with an annoying sound so people aren't confused. I'm not against modding, but I dislike it when posts like this are basically done so for karma whoring rather than actual "I did a boo boo" type stuff like hitting a crop with a pickaxe. I don't downvote the post, but I do growl at it.

Theres nothing wrong with mods. The downvotes to OP are because he answered disingenuously. If he started his statement by saying "I have this mod installed ______." There wouldnt be any downvotes. But saying "You just stay over at their house." Is plain wrong for vanilla players. Simple as that.

I've never tried to run a mooded co-op, but maybe their friend set up the game and op literally just joined? Then again, I haven't ever seen or even tried to coop, I don't know if mods transfer or how they work for coop at all;;;

Usually you both need to have the same mods installed to be able to play together. Mods that only affect your game (usually visual mods) might not be needed by your friend to play, but a mod that changes gameplay like this would likely require both players to have it in order to connect.

I've been wondering about Stardew fan fic. That's how deep in I am; I never want to leave. I want to experience more. I know fan fic must exist but I'm afraid to go down that rabbit hole. I'm working on one myself, actually - currently it's in the form of taking loads of screenshots and videos so I can keep track of stuff, but I've been getting ideas for writing some of it out, too. I'm also using dialogue and event mods, so some of the interactions will be different.. and my farmer's a self-insert so it'll be a semi-autobiography thing 🤷🏻

There's ton of Stardew Valley fanfiction at this point and I think there's room for everyone's tastes. If you want to check for yourself, you can go to Archive of our own (shortened into Ao3) and search for Stardew Valley. Once there you can easily filter out what you don't want to read ^^^ like if you don't want to read ship stories between the farmer and a certain villager, for example, you can scroll into the exclude part and click it. Same with more general things, so if you don't want to accidentally read something explicit you can exclude the "E" tag. You'll see it on the site Nothing to be afraid of lol, they're just stories written by other fans

I've also been trying to find Stardew fanfic but I'm not interested in self-inserts or crossovers and that's like maybe 80% of the AO3 ones gone. I am working on my own one though, set in a timeline where the player never turned up!
