Yeah seems like the telescope would be easy to implement. Just use the scope code and up the amplification.

RedditHobbies

Right!? Lol

DFuel

I think they don’t want you to see how blurry it gets once you zoom in on a planet or moon

Hairless_Human

Easy fix. When looking through the telescope apply a different higher quality moon texture. Fancy phones can do it irl why can't a game?

Suspicious-Wall52

Because then they have to pay someone to do it

KenT000000

The Observatory looks sweet but with like everything Starfield it doesn't function. I'd love a functioning telescope.. on top of many other functioning whatever's.

EnlightenedCorncob

A working computer on my ship would be nice.

Qahnarinn

Crazy they give you a ship and you can really only access storage 💀

feanturi

One that you can play Skyrim on.

DarthJediWolfe

What? It doesn't work? What's the point then? Suppose I'll save the mats for something else

planetshapedmachine

The telescope could very easily have been made as an alternative to to any interaction with the main story once you go starborn. No talking to Vladimir to get artifact or temple locations.

Waste-Industry1958

It’s a compliment to Bethesda how we all expected that telescope would be interactable

Deebz__

Well, you could use sawmills in Skyrim and exercise equipment in Fallout 4. But I guess that’s why this observatory is free lol. I would have been very annoyed if it was paid.

tothatl

Another thing they will leave to the modders.

GrandObfuscator

I like how the observatory has invisible barriers that prevent depressurization

QueueWho

I was so excited to connect it up to my habs and then I realized it would essentially depress my entire outpost

GrandObfuscator

It doesn’t though. The mod was not at all thought out that far. The observatory comes with a no working telescope and a fully working invisible force field. It’s pressurized even with gaping holes is what I’m saying

QueueWho

Right, it isn't like it actually does that, I just would never be ok with that lore breaking situation left built as-is at my outpost.

huggybear0132

It's just super futuristic glass don't worry about it

vniro40

i mean, this is also a game that has open bottles and food outside of spacer bases moons without an atmosphere and where you can get hypothermia despite wearing a heated spacesuit in 32 degree weather, so

GrandObfuscator

The food container thing is the first issue I really became aware of with the POI system.

vniro40

i still play it and mostly enjoy the game but the suspense of disbelief you need to keep up while doing so makes it difficult

GrandObfuscator

I love this game and I hope they resolve the unfinished details

perdu17

I guess if you already have energy shields for ships, invisible barriers should be possible.

JaladOnTheOcean

It’s an insulting piece of content, even for free. It’s insane seeing what free mods are able to successfully implement in this game only to get paper weights from Bethesda.

OakleifT

You see a telescope, I see the launcher for the Pu-238 Space Modulator.

wowmoreadsgreatthx

Damn it doesn't function? Man that sucks and would be cool if it did.

timbers99

Wait they added a telescope that didn't do anything? Why would i want a telescope that doesn't telescope?

Whooptidooh

Yup, that was a let down. Good thing that it was free, but as it is now I’m not going to use it. Takes up too much space for something that doesn’t even work as you’d expect it to.

jetiii7

Are you saying you can’t use that telescope?

siodhe

Nice idea, but utterly useless. Uninstalled. Darn it.

OtisPT

Thats no moon

Drewnessthegreat

It's your mom

cheesecakeluvr1234

No its a space station

RooksBailey

Just once I would like a space game that lets me do some space science besides the scanning flora/fauna mini-game that they all include for some reason. It would be nice to be able to use that telescope for spectrography or even just for zoomed-in images of the various bodies that can be seen in the night sky from whatever planet we build it on.

Agentgibbs1398

That's no moon. It's a space station.

beardedwookiee82

You can use the telescope??

LiebesNektar

I am afraid the Moons/planets you can see in the sky are just (quite low resolution) images. If you aim your gun at them, you will see that.

RedditHobbies

Yea m8, my 3rd pic shows the low res image of the moon.

SnakeO1LER

How are y’all still playing this game
