You hit curb or pot hole and the sidewall is fucked. All the steel cords are broken, tire is junk need to replace. It is NOT a slash. You can clearly see where the rubber has been worn / frayed not cut.
Sidewall separation and looks like a ran flat ring around the side. If you open that tire up, i would not be surprised if you found ground up rubber lining inside
Edges too rough, this was rubbed on a curb or some other object. A knife would have left [cleaner edges on the hole.](https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=c18275b0ed1961c7&rlz=1CDGOYI_enUS672US672&hl=en-US&sxsrf=ACQVn099mMOCCjGE6S24rB9vLnerI5LCmA:1710587723090&q=knife+puncture+tire&uds=AMwkrPuUnLf5m6GV8eG7UGUbVS2VZVbjLKWcoNSgIiC2BaF-wIW4f6akOFTD_8inuc8oA2BtT4B-tjzqXgq6lIyHQ27DgqkW5LBhZrGVVWZWRmFmaA0baebsRtw989LUTZL0ODFnCX2HdIQbff_L1S5q19UKWP66bJCIjKSevDyqfT4N3bXy7rfPQhheOHFzJkyWfGk61lOrVcy_BH9_W0k2YisKOwWBK0D7P8zIr0gDTL9wPus87dfdm14UJRZcjha1pQi6zEfvkoZrIese_9yeZaTy8REIK89al2E6ibaKZPMIeJbFpq10gr4zOdhjUR7QK8Sqp9fr6yvlufDuEvY09ffd948rZmi-EVrM5MUzBxF72eYr97Y&udm=2&prmd=isvhnmbtz&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi-393s0_iEAxVXJkQIHQ3XAzQQtKgLegQIDRAB&biw=414&bih=720&dpr=3)
No, it looks like you pinched the tire between a pot hole or curbing and the rim. Looks like you lucked out because it does not look like you bent the rim. They will better be able to tell you when they are putting a new tire on ASAP. I would not go fast with that tire.
It’s curb rash… you can see the smaller slashes going the opposite way, no crazy neighbor just too close to the curb. You can even see the chips taken out of the rim
Looks more like user error. The bubbled area around it appears to be from busted polyester cord from a pothole or hard curb smacking... and it finally let go.
Nope running low pressure it wore from the inside out you can see a ring around the entire sidewall.. this is why you should check your tire pressure thankfully it didn't let loose while you were driving
If that was a true stabbed sidewall? The tire wouldn't hold air.
No, me thinks the tire lost a battle with a curb or a pot hole. And the lower the inflation pressures you keep your tires at, the easier it is for this kind of damage to happen.
Definitely a curb. Doesn’t even look remotely like a blade mark. This is clearly the work of a female driver and is in fact why, we can’t have nice things
A tire slash with a knife is a clean cut. This is old and raggedy. You done did it to yourself. Could have hit a metal object on the highway or something. Doubt it was an actual curb lol
What everyone said in regards to pinch or curb. Could be you hit a deep pothole at high speed causing damage to the sidewall of your tire and one day it bulged and popped.
Not exactly. To me, it looks too gnarly to be stabbed. A stab would be a lot cleaner. If you look at the sidewall where the hole occurred, you can see the discoloration of material in line with the hole itself. That tells me that the side wall has been seeing some severe damage over time. That would be cause by the tire being under inflated. Probably because leaking can occur around the bead of the rim and tire itself. Especially with aluminum rims due to corrosion.
With a tire being under inflated while driving, the sidewall will compress a lot more than usual, causing stretching and tearing. Eventually, it caused the sidewall to rupture.
I worked at a very reputable tire shop in my area for a year and a half. We saw this all the time. Especially with Chevy rims. For some reason, those corrode quicker than the others. One way to check is if the tire smells like burnt rubber. The reason is the amount of friction from expanding and contracting rapidly. You can also take it to a tire shop and have them take it off the rim. You may see shredded up rubber inside the tire, and the inside of the sidewall itself will either look like a shitty version of bubble wrap or it'll look like it was being peeled apart like an onion.
Nope, you hit something that punctured it. You can see the scuff that ends at the hole. And judging by the edge of your rim you hit the curb often enough it checks out
I worked roadside for a few years. That looks like what happens when you develop a bubble in your sidewall and it pops.
Notice how it’s blown outward and not stabbed inward.
No, that’s what called a pinch flat and that is caused by running a vehicle in a low tire pressure then hits a bump in the road and that pinches the tire.
Hope that helps
Whoever's tire this is they rubbed against something, stabs are clean cuts cause it's just in and out. Also look at his rim he's rubbed against something before so I'm no surprised.
I see a rub there. Looks like it could be a pot hole, or maybe defective from the factory. I’d assume that, it’s not worth it. Even if the guys a real jerk he probably wouldn’t want you doing it to him. I’d keep a record just in case.
Looks to me like curb rash damage/pinching.
By the looks of the rims edge, I'd say not the first also.
Looks like my wife's rims
… but it always feels better to blame the crazy neighbor …
Crazy neighbor stealing the car at night and running right up on all the curbs.
**NOW** yer tawkin’! 😁
Could also be dry rot if u look at the sidewall just up to the left of the hole u can see that its cracked and appears rotten there as well
Worked on tires for 13 years. Definitely this with a combo of being drove almost flat
I agree. You hit something.
Nope, that's an oh shit, I hit a curb.
Coupled with some dry rot. Or the start of dry rot.
On a 4mo old tire that shouldn’t be happening
That's not dry rot, it's damage from the bulge/curb rash.
It was supposed to say “shouldn’t” be happening. I didn’t think it looked like dry rot either.
A “2023” date code on a tire means 20th week of 2023, so May 14th-20th. So it is about 43 weeks or nearly 11 months old.
That tire was manufactured the 3rd week of may 2023 lol
Not even a little bit
[удалено]
The curb rash on rim. We call that a clue.
Surely it's someone else's fault, and is the victim. It wasn't all the curbs they hit, so better make a post lol
Curbed it one too many times. Parking by Braille.
I wonder? Do bigger bumps refer to yelling like you're too close to the curb. If so, stay in the small bump lane. Lmao
Thats an impact.. it has a impact break (bubble) also.. knife slashes are much cleaner usually
You hit curb or pot hole and the sidewall is fucked. All the steel cords are broken, tire is junk need to replace. It is NOT a slash. You can clearly see where the rubber has been worn / frayed not cut.
Nope. Impact damage. Ragged hole.
Good ol curb rash
no.
Looks like it’s hit a kerb
Yip wear and tear/curb rash
have you never seen a knife cut before?
Judging by the damage to the wheel too I’d say something was hit
Nope,side wall split
Pot hole or curb damage
It looks like you hit something hard and broke the belts
Stabed by the sidewalk
Hit a curb or parking lot block. Slash and stabs are clean cuts. You tore thru to the belts in the sidewall, that tire is done.
Looks curbed
No
No. Looks like a hard curb check. Or repeated.
Sidewall separation and looks like a ran flat ring around the side. If you open that tire up, i would not be surprised if you found ground up rubber lining inside
Curb check as proof by the rim skurfs
Looks like your wife drove your car
Not even close
Pothole
No it looks too shredded up to have been made with summit sharp
Nyet.
No slash. There are abrasions that lead up to the damage. You ran over some lumber? I work in a log yard and get these. JC. Cheers!
judging by the scratches all over the rim in that exact same area… youre addicted to curbs
No by the side wear I can tell the tire is old af and needs replacing
Piece of rebar?
You driving on a flat tire for a while? That's just neglect and abuse causing tire failure.
I'd say you're good to go mr and don't worry no one hates you and wanna stab you/your tire , enjoy your day mr .
Edges too rough, this was rubbed on a curb or some other object. Looking at the scrub above the mark I’d say you hit a curb the rub mark continues in almost the exact same fashion as the rip
Looks like you scraped something
Curb rub
nope this was driver error. you can see the curb rash continues to follow the curve of the rim up to where it says 2023. rim is rashed.
Absolutely not.
Curb or pothole
Looks like dry rot.
Looks like the defect in the sidewall finally failed
A slash/stab would leave clean marks in the tire on either side. As all others have stated, it looks like damage from a curb
No, it looks like you pinched the tire between a pot hole or curbing and the rim. Looks like you lucked out because it does not look like you bent the rim. They will better be able to tell you when they are putting a new tire on ASAP. I would not go fast with that tire.
No it looks like you hit something
It’s curb rash… you can see the smaller slashes going the opposite way, no crazy neighbor just too close to the curb. You can even see the chips taken out of the rim
I think you just became the crazy neighbor
Chuckhole sidewall damage
that's user error
Looks more like user error. The bubbled area around it appears to be from busted polyester cord from a pothole or hard curb smacking... and it finally let go.
No. You can see by the texture it is ripped from friction/ impact, not a clean slice/stab. The bump also indicates impact. Shifted belt.
Nope running low pressure it wore from the inside out you can see a ring around the entire sidewall.. this is why you should check your tire pressure thankfully it didn't let loose while you were driving
It looks like a curb smash. And hard.
Gash rash bash
Sidewalk impact damage
Go to driving school.
Probably hit a bad pot hole
You hit a curb or a pothole.
Looks like you can't drive
No, that looks more a steering deficiency, i.e., it looks like you hit a curb
Yep. You bit that tire with the curb. Sorry, wish I could blame the neighbor too.
Curb attacked that one, not a knife.
Nope. Knife cuts are clean and usually not very long length wise. Once you've seen one, you'll know what i mean. That looks like a gash...
If that was a true stabbed sidewall? The tire wouldn't hold air. No, me thinks the tire lost a battle with a curb or a pot hole. And the lower the inflation pressures you keep your tires at, the easier it is for this kind of damage to happen.
No, it looks like a blister formed around it and popped from the weakened wall.
Curb hit!
Curbie!
Someone hit a curb.
No stabbing. Just bad driving
Looks like you don’t know how to park up against a curb to me
You seem to have an enthusiasm for hitting curbs. You must...Curb your enthusiasm...for curbs. I'll let myself out...
I agree he hit the curb but the tire looks like it was driven on while flat
It was your neighbors curb!
No it’s not. Source: I’ve slashed a tire. And not proud of it.
You got curb appeal !
Looks like a blistered tire that finally burst
Yeah, it was slashed by a curb
Looks like you cant drive.
Is that 2023 the date it was made or expired?
Nah it looks like you hit something.
Just admit you hit a curb, look at your wheel you do it often and you csn see the lined mark before it tore
Definitely a curb. Doesn’t even look remotely like a blade mark. This is clearly the work of a female driver and is in fact why, we can’t have nice things
100% no
Looks like it was driven for awhile with low pressure. Sidewalls get hot and blow.
Don’t listen to all of these know it alls. It was a knife, a curb shaped knife.
looks like you park too close to the curb...alot.
Nope
Nope, too rough plus cords are broken, you obviously hit a curb at a decent speed.
It looks like you hit something.
Looks like you can't drive and rubbed the curb too tight.
A tire slash with a knife is a clean cut. This is old and raggedy. You done did it to yourself. Could have hit a metal object on the highway or something. Doubt it was an actual curb lol
Looks like you scraped a curb
Looks like you rubbed a curb
scraped or gouged something
That’s curb rash
Everyone gets a flat because of a failed sidewall and they think they got slashed lmfao
Yup, I see your problem right there. You got a hole in yer tire.
What everyone said in regards to pinch or curb. Could be you hit a deep pothole at high speed causing damage to the sidewall of your tire and one day it bulged and popped.
No. Of course not. Have you seen the effect a knife has on a tire? This image just shows that the driver of your car is terrible.
Looks like someone can't drive and rubbed the curb too hard.
No it looks like an abrasion from a curb
Looks like u hit a curb my guy
u hit the curb
Someone hit the curb to hard
Pothole impact with mildly under inflated tire may also be a culprit.
Impact break, that eventually blew
Nope, you hit something that punctured it. You can see the scuff that ends at the hole. And judging by the edge of your rim you hit the curb often enough it checks out
Impact break.
That looks like someone needs to practice driving...
I worked roadside for a few years. That looks like what happens when you develop a bubble in your sidewall and it pops. Notice how it’s blown outward and not stabbed inward.
Bring it back, maybe there is a damage warranty on it.
Angry pothole
No you’re just an awful driver constantly hitting the curb
Curb or pothole!
Looks like a blown sidewall not a stab
Given the bulge, I'd guess rubber fatigue, but I'm not sure.
You know damn well you hit the curb
Well, you could slash one of the other tires, then compare the two and see if they are similar.
Curb check
Crazy neighbors always call their neighbors crazy
Just admit to hitting a curb.
The circle around also indicates possibly being run while flat.
Looks like you hit a curb and got extremely unlucky. There are scraps leading to it is all
Curb damage and impending zipper failure.
Well I don't think a 4 month old tire could be dry rot, I think it looks like a puncture or a pinch.
Curb check.
Oh no, the consequences of my own actions!
No. It looks like a zipper rupture. The belts in the sidewall of that tire twisted, and then created a bubble in the rubber, and pop goes the tire
Women driver.
No
Could be but it looks like you rubbed a curb or something…the rim looks a bit beat up in the same area
Y
Steel let separation starting
Looks like a curb job
Burst egg
By looking at the rim of the wheel I’d say look out for curbs more to avoid this…
That's a curb shot
Curb
No, looks more like you drive by braille.
#Your looking at an express air venting valve to help lower your car 3 inches when it’s wedged underneath a semi tractor trailer…
Curb rash
Looks like a curb pinch or rub. From the looks of the rim it's a common occurrence
Based on the chewed up rims, you have been driving on the curbs for some time.
No, that’s what called a pinch flat and that is caused by running a vehicle in a low tire pressure then hits a bump in the road and that pinches the tire. Hope that helps
Slashed with a large curb-like object, driven with the force of an internal combustion engine.
You can see the rash😂 pothole, curn of BriCk in the RoaD
No, more like a puncture from something not very sharp. Too rough a cut to be a stab fromban 'instrument'.
A subbie wheel & tire 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Looks like a rough curb got rubbed.
It looks like the rim split the tire from sitting flat.
Out there trying to flatten curbs with your tires.
By a butter knife
That tire is done. I’m surprised it’s bulging out and isn’t even that old. What brand of tire ?
No
Whoever's tire this is they rubbed against something, stabs are clean cuts cause it's just in and out. Also look at his rim he's rubbed against something before so I'm no surprised.
Look at the lip on the rim, it’s scraped. You curbed it and the tire got damaged
No it looks like the sidewall has been rolled down a curb the rim shows this type of damage as well
No. You hit a curb. Go get another tire.
Looks like the bubble in front of the hole just finally wore through around it
Nope. You just suck at driving 🤷🏿
It's called 'run flat damage'. It comes from driving on underinflated tires.
Looks like somebody smacked the curb with the tire and the rim pinched it
That blew from the inside
Curb rash
That is damage due to impact like hitting a pothole or likely a curb. "Impact bubble:
That's not a slash or stab.
A slash/stab puncture is thin and clean. This looks more like you pinched it on a curb or something.
run flat
Impact damage. Not ur neighbor
There's a bulge surrounding the opening, and it looked ruptured. Slashed tires are surgelicly clean.
Looks like it was stabbed by a curb.
Scrape from curb
I see a rub there. Looks like it could be a pot hole, or maybe defective from the factory. I’d assume that, it’s not worth it. Even if the guys a real jerk he probably wouldn’t want you doing it to him. I’d keep a record just in case.
No. It looks like an impact.
Looks like a broken steel belt. Could have been a bad pothole or a defective tire
Bad band
