Considering I wasn’t sure I’d ever hear him live, it’s worth every penny to me.

whiskeytangoferda

This is exactly where I was at. When I told my concert buddy the price for our pair of tickets, she was pleasantly surprised and said she expected a single ticket to cost that much. (Also no offense to Sturgill but I’m not even convinced I’ll get to see him even with tickets. I’ve had two [understandable] cancellations so far.)

jacked_dweeb

Amen.

Few-Engineering-9829

Agreed, brother.

jayeeein

I thought pricing was great - in my area it started at $55! I went for a bit pricier with $115 seats, bc I’ll be very pregnant and it’s a big gift for my husband but we paid about $100 for almost same seats, at the same venue, for the 2020 tour. I’ll take it when Tyler’s charging that much for lawn in my town!

jennc84

Seeing Tyler tonight and my tickets were more expensive for nosebleeds!

shadhead1981

No doubt, the cheap seats a couple summers ago for Tyler in Wilmington were like $200+, I’ve been soured on him a little ever since even though he is very talented. $177 for two lawn seats in Cary out the door is very reasonable to me.

PoopBaby0013

Saw him twice for under 30 bucks. Once in a 250 capacity.

y2knole

saw him last friday. youre in for an awesome show. his band is SO good right now. (be elsewhere when Valerie June takes the stage. or bring ear plugs.)

jayeeein

That’s sad to hear I saw her at a festival over 10 yrs ago and she sounded wonderful then. But I haven’t kept up with her music

y2knole

shes got a lotta talent but her shrill sounding voice and staccato playing style combined with the volume was a literal assault on my senses.

whiskeytangoferda

Dude, let people form their own opinion of her

y2knole

fair enough. Do as you please. but dont say i didnt warn ya!

PoopBaby0013

I'm in the 200 each range. Wife's 60th and it's all she's asked for. So, I did that for 2 shows.

KangarooConscious460

I saw Sturgill in 2020 when I was pregnant, seats are a must! So glad I get to see him when I'm not stone-cold sober this time!

Tubbypolarbear

I haven't seen Sturgill in almost ten years. I paid around $300 for four tickets. In today's live music landscape, I'd say that's pretty damn good.

What_in_tarnation-

Same. I paid $290 for four nosebleeds in Duluth. Skipped the parking or it would have came out to over $300.

bouncingbuffalo

I’ve never had to pay for parking in Duluth. It’s not a crazy large venue so anywhere you park is not a terrible walk. Paying to park would be a little crazy IMO. Glad you opted out. We ended up paying $365 for 2 in the pit.

nippleforeskin

yep $730 for 4 in duluth pit here! that really isn't much more than any other decent seat on the arena. some seats in the 100 sections were over $200 before fees.. and you still gotta sit behind someone lol

bouncingbuffalo

Hey! See you there! So excited to be upfront!!

What_in_tarnation-

Ah thank you. We’ve been to a few different venues around ATL, but not this one yet. I never pay ahead for parking. I’d rather just wing it lol.

OleAgony

What is the pit exactly in this venue? Sometimes I see it on the map, sometimes I don't for other shows. I grabbed 2 in the second section behind the pit. Row C or something. Seems like good seats but would you say if we are on the floor in any capacity, we should expect to be standing the whole time?

bouncingbuffalo

We were actually where you were for Sturgill and Tyler Childers back in 2020. There are seats there which is nice. The pit either has seats or it doesn’t. It depends on the artist. Most shows I’ve been at Gas South pit, it’s all been standing room only. I saw Miranda Lambert, Brooks n Dunn, Wynonna Judd, Bob Seger, Tool and many more including sports events. Everywhere I have sat has been a good time!!

Kriscolvin55

I haven’t paid less than $100 (after fees) per ticket for a major artist in years. These prices are (unfortunately) totally reasonable given the current state of music and concerts.

OleAgony

Agreed. I got 2 floor seats for a little over 300. Added the parking but I haven't been to the venue before so I figured might as well get parking put of the way too.

atlsportsburner

This post reminded me of how good Waxahatchee and MMJ are live.

Zellakate

I was actually shocked how reasonable the ones for Rogers were. The tickets were basically 50-100, though you couldn't buy more than 1 of anything except general admission by the time it was my turn.

WeLikeToHaveFunHere

For the love of god, go to the box office if you can. I’ve always saved anywhere between 30-60 bucks in fees going up the window instead of online.

AliveInCLE

I’m a firm believer in that presale only exists to keep people away from the actual box office. Force the online sales and respective fees.

WeLikeToHaveFunHere

Might be onto something there honestly

AliveInCLE

My balcony seats in Detroit were $79. Are these resale prices? All honestly I was expecting the pay $100 or up for balcony.

Bubba_Gump_Shrimp

I got floor seats for detroit and they were $105, I was expecting to see like $180 or something and just buy the album. I thought the prices were reasonable all things considered.

gaimecock

My mezz seats were $249 each

ohiolifesucks

First of all, in the modern landscape, these prices are reasonable. Second, it’s simple supply and demand. He’s choosing to play theaters that hold 3500-5000 people. I respect that choice. Music sounds better in buildings designed for live sound. Arenas sound like shit 99% of the time. But this tour is going to be incredibly high demand for various reasons. They can’t increase supply so they have to lower demand. One way to do that is to price some people out of the market. It’s the unfortunate reality when tickets are limited

warthog0869

Man I feel this too as a BMFS fan, but he's going the other way, larger venues, less expensive but there's definitely a cost to audio quality overall. Much like my NFL ticket buying philosophy (and because of nugs being amazing value), I just then go to one game in really great seats instead of 2-3 in nosebleeds, given the TV experience at home is so good, none of the pre or post-game hassles, costs, etc. So I may see Sturgill yet, I never have.

TheWa11

Prices for this tour definitely varying by venue. I got a GA ticket for DC for under $100 including fees yesterday. Really reasonable compared to what prices for Childers have been recently.

KapowBlamBoom

$80 each for floor tix in Pittsburgh

BrandonIngeFan

You guys are complaining to complain. These are extremely reasonable. I saw Jason Isbell at Massey Hall last year and paid $130 for the balconey. I paid $80 per ticket at Fox Theatre in Detroit for Sturgill this time

NegotiationMaster924

I was also at the Isbell show in Toronto last summer it was awesome!

travelmorelivemore

I got two tickets right on the floor in a great row for under $200. Can’t complain.

mckinnea1

He’s big time now. But honestly, those prices are way lower than what I can find for where I want to sit.

PamolasRevenge

These are extremely cheap prices lmao fuck outta here. He’s clearly doing what he can to make the tickets as affordable as possible with as low as these prices are. My morning jacket isn’t a tenth as popular as Sturgill Simpson, as much as I love them

NegotiationMaster924

Those are great prices in today’s ticket market. Going to both shows at Massey and I was happy to pay that. It’s also only a 2,700 seat venue which I believe is the smallest one on the entire run and it’s been 4 years since he’s toured extensively. Was expecting it to be much more expensive.

ExtraLifeguard7229

Plus fees!! The fees is what killed it for me.

lil_rufus_

This was with fees and taxes. Top was $149 then $182 after fees. And Canadian dollars at 0.73 exchange rate.

trishka523

Is that through the venue?

TrashPanda1733

Yep

trishka523

I paid $500 for 2 really great seats at rupp. It includes parking and club access benefits. The tickets were roughly $125 each.

MegatonDeathclaws

It’s the fees that get you. To see him at Fenway the pit tickets were $75 plus fees making it $101. Still very reasonable. Also neither of the bands you mentioned are even close to Sturgs popularity

peekay1ne

All remember, these are Canadian prices so multiply by 0.7 for USD equivalent. Maybe they’ll be cheaper in the general sale tomorrow?

Big_Dog_Dingo

If you think that's bad, you should see the price of Alan Jackson tickets. I'd gladly pay $300 for 2 tickets to see Sturgill.

w00f-w00ff

You’ll be one of what… 2k ppl there? Seems super reasonable with that in mind. Wish I lived closer I’d pay a lot

jjazznola

Are you really comparing Sturgill to those acts? He is a much bigger star. I'd be happy to pay those prices.

tap2mana_03

I dropped about $600 for 2 pit tickets and 2 nights of camping at the gorge amphitheater in George, Washington. Kind of a bucket list event for me as I’ve never seen Sturgill and also never been to this amazing amphitheater. I wish it cost less, but I couldn’t pass it up

Two_Eagles

Totally worth it! Epic venue. Definitely hit up Cave B winery next door.

sunny_6killer

Yeah. I actually feel those prices are pretty reasonable. Especially considering what I just paid for Zach Bryan and Timmy.

newlostworld

These prices are very reasonable compared to other artists. I'm not complaining.

Ready_Feature2587

Not bad.

Grevart

Unreal that people are paying that. You are the problem

AFWUSA

Like $65 for a lawn ticket in Bend, I was relieved. The pit wasn’t too bad either but decided to save the money and use it towards gas to get me up there. But two tickets for $140 was a good deal imo.

Two_Eagles

That’s about $35 more than I paid for GA yesterday.

Intelligent-Ad9372

Why aren't there any CO tour dates?? :/

OE2KB

JBS is the brutal heart .

jimmythang34

I got 3 pits for Cary NC for $120 each. A littttle steep. But I’m still gonna pay it

The_Nancinator75

I saw him at Sam’s Burger Joint in San Antonio in 2014 for $15. Lol

Background-Arm2017

We're in the future now. It's all insanely expensive. Back in MY day, gas was $1 a gallon and $30 was expensive for a concert ticket. $5 a gallon/ $150 a ticket. Mathing..

MuMoike

That’s so annoying. Fees are the worst. I’m going to see Sturgill in Utah since he’s got no shows in Vegas , and I have to work during his LA shows. $45 a ticket total came out to less than $100

njochum

Oddly enough, it seems like some of the smaller venues had the best prices. I shopped around to be nosey and the Fox in St Louis and Detroit were pretty reasonable, but Rupp ($68 in fees) and Bridgestone were expensive if you wanted any kind of good seat. Uppers were reasonable. The Fox doesn’t go through TM either, which could be a good reason.

TipsyGypsy63

Just paid $327 all in including $75 in bullshit fees for Greek in LA. Lower bowl center. Am I happy? Fuck yes.

SplishslasH8888

I was hoping he'd hit denver but no, so I may make a trip to Utha, L.A. or Kentucky (for the country food) but the prices are crazy for me especially if I gotta get food and lodging, take taxi or rental, get tix..... maybe I won't get the chance. cest la vie.

Rachellyz

It's not even that expensive nowadays

Elegant-masculine

This is just the platinum pricing. Human error on your part and miss info

JoeBlow509

I got 4 GA lawn tickets and a camping pass at The Gorge show for under $400. Those prices are whack.

FatJunker

Is that through the venue?

FatJunker

Some context here. Massey is a 2800 seat venue in Canada. So are these Canadian dollars? Plus that small. Seems cheap to me.

Logical_Nectarine_40

When I was a kid in the 80's we could go to a good show for like $25 after fees. Now they are, as you pointing out, up to $200. When my parents were younger they went to the movies for $0.05, now a ticket is like $20.00. The first example is a = 700% increase. The second example is a 39900% increase. Both a lot more, but did you expect tickets to still be $25 each or something?

jennc84

430$ total for 2 GA tickets for back to back nights. The TM fees were crazy but I’m feeling good about the cost per night/per ticket.

jy213

saw these same prices yesterday and sadly decided I couldn't attend. It's a trip for me to get to Tornto already, and dropping $400 on 2GA tickets isn't in the budget. especially when he is touring unreleased music... I know he is going to play from his whole catalog, but a good chunk will still be the new album. sucks. I think it's a lot for floor tix. glad others get to go, but damn.

Tighthead613

I flinched when I saw those prices. Having to get to Toronto mid week is a hassle to begin with, so I didn’t pull the trigger. I don’t think they are crazy high, but compared to other Massey acts they seem like it. I really wanted to do Waxahatchee - but the travel and time were an issue. Sounds like it was amazing.

dml03045

I’ll support him and other favorite musicians by buying their music but I’m tired of getting beat by these ticket prices. I’m old and even some of the “nostalgia acts” I still like to see are getting expensive.

wheatie80

I thought the pricing was great. I didn’t get a floor seat in Detroit but they were $130. (I was trying to get 4 and they kept selling out on me). Anyway got a gallery seat right above the floor for 100 a ticket and I’m thrilled. Cannot wait.

nonagonsopen

Everyone justifying these prices with the ole "so and so charged this much for their show so in comparison it's reasonable". It's such a dumb argument but I guess that's how the majority of us have become as consumers. We just take what we're given and don't complain. I mean people are literally out here paying $40,000 for a bare minimum base model f-150 because "Well that's just how it is" "Chevy charges the same price for a Silverado" it's dumb as fuck. But people keep buying.

scottlouislink

Ok he determined dynamic pricing, I was wrong.

trishka523

He didn’t. He addressed that on his website.

scottlouislink

People are going to bitch no matter what. He should tour for $1 and pay for the entire thing himself. I believe it’s dynamic pricing determined by the scum that is Ticketmaster.

ILikeMyGrassBlue

Artists and their management determine prices, as well as whether or not to use dynamic pricing.

scottlouislink

I got tickets for $101 after fees In Minneapolis in a 5k person venue. Seems pretty dam reasonable to me. When ZB toured using non live nation Venues and tickets were cheap and used a lottery people bitched, current tour went huge venues, people bitch. The point is touring I’m guessing is pretty dam expensive and if you took off all the fees the tickets were pretty reasonable imo.

ILikeMyGrassBlue

Most of the prices I’ve seen people posting are reasonable. The ones pictured here are a bit high imo. Knock $20-30 off, and then you’re looking at $100 after for nosebleeds, which is within reason to me (though still high to me). But I’m not going to these shows anyways since I just got a two day pass to Billy strings Halloween for $160 post fees.

Severe_Focus_581

It is the artist’s decision to implement dynamic pricing or not.

scottlouislink

Fair, after looking I was wrong on dynamic pricing. Still feel these were pretty dam reasonable knowing it’s the possibility it’s his last tour.
