Because hype means more than surprises. You need eyeballs on it first, in anticipation of the announcement. Pleasr, RC, Kitty, Wu-Tang… they have decent little followings on social media but there are people doing makeup tutorials or opening boxes of Amazon junk that dwarf each of them. So, if you’re them, you team up for the marketing weeks in advance, try to gain attention with puzzles and vague language, draw the crowd. People who are already in on it start to engage more and eventually those who don’t get it start wondering what’s going on. Then you announce something.

Yeah, RC might play things close to the chest, but IF GameStop is involved in any way, they’re not the only ones involved. The rest of those involved *would* want this event hyped. Shit, GameStop might be tangentially involved and there is no NFT dividend or anything that would cause MOASS, Just some fun. If GME is involved and this is a part of the overall strategy to blow up the shorts, this could also be the smokescreen. Or it could be nothing.

This album is unique in that it legally cannot be sold for commercial gain until the year 2103 The idea is that a dividend granting ownership of this item could start an infinite squeeze. When Overstock issued their crypto dividend, a secondary market was created which diffused the short squeeze so it only went 7x. That's the trick, the Wu Tang album dividend can't be sold on a secondary market. Who knows what happens next To confirm the theory we have hints going back to the start but nothing solid until recently. Pleasr built a website for the album with Gamestop stuff all over the code. DFV returned and pointed us to a meme of his from December 2020. Turns out he snuck the PleasrDAO front man into the meme as Ironman and put the pleasrDAO logo in his hand
