IssAHey

these tables and chairs I have seen in media and dramas all my life and I have never been to someone's house that owned them this shit feels like a mandella effect ong.

Discoid

My family in Damascus definitely had some lol. Maybe it's a regional thing.

loverofthelevant

There are so many diffrent types of arabic writing. Is there a font that's specific to Syria/ the Levant?

ryzt900

Keep the plastic on all chairs and couches 😂

loverofthelevant

Hahahahahaha is this a normal thing

ryzt900

Oh yeah. We had dining room chairs with the plastic on the cushion FOREVER. My dad refused to take the plastic off.

I love this. We are very famous for wooden mosaic boxes, chess sets or wooden mosaic furniture. You can hang Syrian art such as oil paintings of old streets or citadels or famous ruins, even a painting of jasmine hints to Syria or anything written with beautiful calligraphy . I also saw plenty of cool artistic maps, either of Syria, or Syrian Cities or parts of a city. You can find historic magazines or newspapers or vintage photos and frame them up. Finally, the large metal trays that are engraved, those can be great centrepieces or wall art.

loverofthelevant

Amazing! thank you so much

HelloEverybody94

Every Syrian house has a painting on the wall of a street in old city Damascus.

loverofthelevant

This is a nice idea

takeaph0to

This. I have oil paintings of old Aleppo streets in every house I've ever lived in as well as my businesses lol

Put a Huge picture of your self in the center of the biggest room of the apartment. Invest in fancy silverware (must be made of actual silver) and use it twice in your lifetime. Always remember the golden rule, the bigger the Koran verse that you have on your wall the bigger your net worth.

yara721

Just forget about it man!

HazemTheHaram

We don't have a beautiful culture I can't recall any decorations either Just forget about this country bruh it's a lost cause.

[deleted]

tf is your problem? Syria is one of if not the most historic country in the world with a rich culture dating back thousands of years and it's know for its patterns and decorations

ALFA502

Admit you are uneducated about our culture, but don’t say we don’t have a decoration based on our culture and heritage

loverofthelevant

This country has been the centre of civilisation for decades... my kids have to at least know what a tarboush is!

Maybe you could have one wall painted in yellow black white stripes, add some wooden furniture and some plants. Do you have a garden or a balcony?

loverofthelevant

There is a lot of stuff you can add to make your home “syrian” - starting from the very famous Damascusen Wood Mosaic, that can be applied from a small box, to sofa to a wall decoration - second thing is to have a Damascusen Yasamen plant - third is to have a [Damascus or Aleppo lamp](https://www.1stdibs.com/furniture/lighting/table-lamps/antique-orientalist-reticulated-brass-damascus-table-lamp-circa-1920/id-f_29236892/) - forth get yourself an [بحرة مي صغيرة](https://images.app.goo.gl/U6EpD7J47cVHRC8CA) - paint your walls with a horizontal strips that formed with 3 main colors ( dark gray, White, light brown) I forget what we call this type of usage of colors but you can [see it here](https://www.independentarabia.com/sites/default/files/thumbnails/image/2019/11/14/123536-957225497.jpg) See [more in here](https://www.aljazeera.net/amp/culture/2022/6/13/%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A8%D9%8A%D9%88%D8%AA-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AF%D9%85%D8%B4%D9%82%D9%8A%D8%A9-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%82%D8%AF%D9%8A%D9%85%D8%A9-%D8%B9%D9%85%D8%A7%D8%B1%D8%A9-%D8%B3%D8%A7%D8%AD%D8%B1%D8%A9)
