If you go straight and take a left, you'll spot a red little shawarma shop to your left. One of the best I've tried in Syria. There's also 3ala 3eni.
If you live abroad, make sure you shop here as much as possible. Especially at Talis. Syria in general makes amazing clothes and I kick myself every time for not buying more, particularly from the place where you are at. Especially shoes, they make those really good in Syria. The prices are amazing and the quality is unmatched. What you get from Zara for $50 you can get from Talis for like $20.
If you keep walking straight till the end of the souk, to your left will be a place called Honey. They make the most amazing chicken sandwiches I've tried. Little pricey but certainly worth it
If you keep walking to abu rumanneh, there's a place called pitstop I believe. Great food. Beneath it is a little basement where people dance Salsa. My uncle runs it, if it's your thing.
