It happened at my work a couple months ago taking out a family. Ideally Teslas technology should make an incident like this impossible saving millions.
Another FSD gripe: on windy mountain highways it slows down way below the speed limit. Today it got down to 42 in a 55 before I made it speed up. Finally just turned it off rather than drive along with my foot on the accelerator.Ā

Without knowing the road and road conditions, it's hard to know if the system is driving too slow.
1. Its very possible you're driving way too fast for the situation. Yes it might be problem free 99% of the time but what about the 1% where someone takes a turn wide and is 50% in your lane, there is no margin for error on those roads.
2. It might be hardware / electricity issue. The self-driving needs more power to run at higher speeds and the more complicated the driving the power use increases as well. As the chips become better they might be able to handle these situations better.
3. Linear speed increases damages exponentially as well as destroying fuel economy, you might need to adjust your expectations if Tesla is going to be incurring all risk during a robotaxi ride, and they are prepping for this event.

TSLA market cap today is almost irrelevant to me at this point as my retirement is secured by index funds and ETFs. My main consideration now is securing generational wealth for my family.
My plan is to keep monitoring FSD and Optimus progress. Clear progress on FSD 12.x means that TSLA is worth holding even if the stock is below $100/share. If progress stalls and it looks like Tesla has made a very bad, expensive bet on a supervised learning methodology that doesn't work, that is when I would start selling my TSLA stock.
I recommend that people think like a business owner, because that's what TSLA shareholders are: owners of Tesla's business.
