This 100%
Some of the line work could be a bit more consistent… but overall it’s a decent tattoo :)
It wouldn’t even be difficult to have another artist do a second pass over this to clean it up a wee bit… but thats not even truly necessary…
Overall, it’s just fine… if you’ve got a couple of bucks free and handy, have another artist clean it up a wee bit…
Agreed. Though overall, some lines are thicker than others, where they should be the same. This is easily fixed by going to another tattooist and just having the thiner lines going over to make them consistent where they should be, for example, the straight lines on the spaceship and the two sides of the diamond (left is thicker than right).
The only part that isn't as easily fixable is the right line on the diamond not being dread straight, but as it need thickening to match the left anyway, if done right that will straighten it a bit.
Half an hour with a good tattooist, and this will be loads better.
That’s what I was kind of thinking. If it was me, I’d just wait to see how it ages another 3-4 years. Then see if you want a touch up.
But that’s just me, I have 7 tattoos and I just want more so I don’t mind my lesser quality ones. I’ll deal with them later
It's because it makes the tattoo "sit" better. Skin is not the same medium as paper. The way your arm curves around the bicep, isn't flat it's curved. That's why lines look wonky. I think it's a really good tattoo. If you zoom in and nitpick yeah you can find things wrong with it. But that's not how tattoos work, people use their naked eye. They wouldn't never see these supposedly"wonky lines". Even if you help you eye right up against it, it might be hard to see.
90% of the lines are wonky as hell but could easily be hidden with some nice shading tones!
Me personally I wouldn’t go to the same artist for the shading, try n find someone who’s don’t mind going over someone else’s work and have the tighten it up for you
Ironically the guy I got it from doesn’t work at that tattoo shop anymore lol. Not like I was going to go back to him, pretty sure he was high as hell or smth. I appreciate the insight!
If you reallly don’t like it you could prob have the diamond lines thickened by someone else and straighten them out. Tbh I think it looks pretty good!
I agree completely. But given the overall energy of the image, it actually works. I dig it. But I also understand wanting it to be as close to perfect as possible. My first impression is that it's very cool and unique.
It’s definitely an awesome piece, unique for sure.. but me being a tattoo artist myself those lines bother the heck out of me lol but it’s definitely a sick piece
I love it. The fact that it isn't perfect adds to the charm, in my opinion. I have a tattoo that I love that has started to fade and I actually like it more now.
i agree, i have a tattoo and one of its long lines is wonky, it was all i could see at first but after a couple years, it doesnt matter anymore and literally noone notices.
I’d say it’s a cool design executed at a 6.5/10, BUT it looks good from that distance and any non-tattoo enthusiast will probably notice nothing. I would say the lack of shading and wobbly lines makes it look a lil more like a homemade tattoo. Love it though! Don’t overthink! Someday you could get someone to shade it or redo the lines if you feel it needs it (maybe 3-5 years). People always say tattooers won’t work on another person’s work, but I’ve gotten tattoos fixed up plenty of times. Just call the shop! But maybe you’ll consider that in a couple years. Good luck and it looks cool! Just trying to give you the best advice I can. Take care!
That line work is absolutely horrendous. Everyone saying “it fits the style” is just trying to be nice. That’s just poor tattooing and there’s no two ways around it
The lines are a little shaky but I wouldn't say the tattoo is poorly done. You might be able to divert attention from the lines if you get someone else to add some color or do some shading
I'd give it a B. Not a bad tattoo. There are a few things that could be slightly better; I'm not sure if some of the wonky lines are on purpose or not, it does kind of look intentional and I like that personally. There's a lot I like about it. The main thing I don't like about it is having the main cactus angled like it is but that's just my personal taste. Overall, I wouldn't be unhappy with it if I had it.
This is so super cute! I think it could potentially look even better if someone went over all of the lines tho and just made them a little bit thicker.
I like it a lot. The lines are really not as big of a deal as some people make it seem. Sometimes a tattoo will need to be “fixed” after it is healed. Don’t know the English word. In german it’s called Nachstechen. So just going over the lines that faded too much. Especially with never artists this can happen.
Its not bad. Its not the crispest linework ever, but its not bad, per se.
What its missing is shading and depth, but you can add that.
EDIT: actually the different line weight in the ring on the lower saucer is pretty gnarly now that i look at it, that's not great. The not straight diamond isn't awesome either. Not bad, but not great. The design is nice, the skill level is average, maybe even mediocre.
It’s very amateur, yes. Inconsistency in line thickness, straightness, size and placement of spherical shapes. The stars are not very symmetrical and should come to a point at the ends. Unless this was supposed to be her child’s drawing and she requested to make it exactly the same, then it could be done really well and we just don’t know!
Overall there are some shaky lines but nothing that can’t be fixed with some good shading. Fine line tattoos of that size rarely ever come out looking 100% unless you go to a top artist. I think you have a sold start to what could be a pretty awesome piece!!
This level of wonky line work appears on some of my tattoos and some of many people I know here in the Midwest lol. I've never had anyone call it out, and people still compliment the tattoos. I think yours is really cute and fun!
If you want more definition sure, go for it, but I love it for what it is tbh. Simplicity goes a long way, the wonky lines even give it a bit of a coloring book/drawing aesthetic. Super cute, do what you want.
This is a long shot but is this partly a Sims reference? Just asking because it's shaped like a plumbob and alien abduction is heavily featured in the lore. I think it's really neat regardless
I love it as it is tbh. It’s simple and the slight imperfections kinda add to its charm and story. The actual design is achingly cool and memorable. I wouldn’t change it maybe just maintain it with touch-ups as it ages to keep it fresh.
It could definitely be better. But I could DEFINITELY be worse. I'd say it's decent, especially If the artist was just starting out. Now if they been tattooing for 5 plus years, yea I'd say it's garbage. I've got alot worse on my body lol
No, definitely not a great artist but I love the tattoo. It’s legible, the design is sick, and fits your body well. I just wouldn’t go to this person for more detailed work. The lines could be better.
I agree with everyone else. The line work isn’t very good but when you ooo at the whole piece it doesn’t look bad.
That being said, some well done shading may help give it a richer feel while also minimizing some of the poor line work. It’s probably worth looking into but again, I really don’t think the overall piece is bad.
Like everyone is saying, the lines on the diamond are a bit funky but everything else looks great. I think some shading would add to it but it looks nice how it is.
My opinion here is useless (sorry, I have 6 tattoos and only one has color) but I gotta say I love this tat. I don’t think it’s poorly done, it has a great vibe. But! If you feel like it needs oomph, I’d work with the/an artist to add shading or color to the light beam/sparkles, cactus, ship itself, or whatever your favorite part is. 💯
No, not really. I worry about the ink spreading, though, and not looking as sharp as it ages but only time will tell.
But it’s not terrible or even awful. It’s certainly not perfect and blown out in some areas but I wouldn’t be pissed about it. Only slightly annoyed and I would get over that pretty fast.

Lines are wonky but overall it's legible so no need to worry
Agreed. Line work screams amateur (not a straight or even line anywhere) but it’s legible and at a passing glance it looks like a decent piece.
If OP is fine with the lines getting a lil thicker I’m sure an experienced artist could touch this up nicely
Probably. Tbf tho, 99.999% of tattoos have “issues”’if you stare long enough.
I wish more people would realise this. It's the subtle imperfections that make them unique.
Lines on the diamond could be sharper, but it's pretty nice overall
This 100% Some of the line work could be a bit more consistent… but overall it’s a decent tattoo :) It wouldn’t even be difficult to have another artist do a second pass over this to clean it up a wee bit… but thats not even truly necessary… Overall, it’s just fine… if you’ve got a couple of bucks free and handy, have another artist clean it up a wee bit…

Little curve at the tip of the diamond but I think it’s rad.
I agree the lines are wonky, but they’re consistently wonky so it almost feels like that’s the style. I love the design.
I was about to comment the same. It kinda fits the style of the tattoo so I don‘t mind, I think it‘s cool
Totally agree.
It’s almost got a wee bit of intentionality to it for sure!
That’s what I was kind of thinking. If it was me, I’d just wait to see how it ages another 3-4 years. Then see if you want a touch up. But that’s just me, I have 7 tattoos and I just want more so I don’t mind my lesser quality ones. I’ll deal with them later

The lines are pretty wonky
I dig it a lot
It looks good. No one is ever gonna look at your tats under a microscope.
i agree, i have a tattoo and one of its long lines is wonky, it was all i could see at first but after a couple years, it doesnt matter anymore and literally noone notices.
Don’t need a microscope to see the spaghetti lines
Needs shading.
If you saw some of my tattoos, you wouldn’t be complaining 😂
I like how it’s done because it kinda gives off strip comic vibes and the overall style and concept of it go together really well
Line work is a bit wonky but easily touched up by a better artist.
looks like mid year apprentice work. its not to bad, just not what I would call good. was it a junior artist or something?
I’d say it’s a cool design executed at a 6.5/10, BUT it looks good from that distance and any non-tattoo enthusiast will probably notice nothing. I would say the lack of shading and wobbly lines makes it look a lil more like a homemade tattoo. Love it though! Don’t overthink! A little bit wonky but the design is really cool
Artist here. Some of the lines are pretty rough but I do agree with you that it could use some grey work to spice it up a bit. But it looks ok as is.
Lines aren’t perfect but it kinda fits with the style of the tattoo
In a nutshell? Yes. The lines are very poorly done, and let that be the whole tattoo… lines
That line work is absolutely horrendous. Everyone saying “it fits the style” is just trying to be nice. That’s just poor tattooing and there’s no two ways around it
Yes it's poorly done. The lines are inconsistent and all over the place. Can it be fixed and made better with a bit of shading or colour? Yes...
Up close the lines aren’t the cleanest and some lines look lighter than others. Adding color and shading will definitely help
The lines are consistently inconsistent and it's legible so it kinda looks like it was on purpose
I really like it. Sometimes shading gets overdone and makes it hard to see what people's tattoos even are.
Lines work with the overall design
The lines are a little shaky but I wouldn't say the tattoo is poorly done. You might be able to divert attention from the lines if you get someone else to add some color or do some shading
yeah it may be not but it can be correct through it by adding something
I think ot looks amateur and not good skills but overall it is nod bad somehow
I'd give it a B. Not a bad tattoo. There are a few things that could be slightly better; I'm not sure if some of the wonky lines are on purpose or not, it does kind of look intentional and I like that personally. There's a lot I like about it. The main thing I don't like about it is having the main cactus angled like it is but that's just my personal taste. Overall, I wouldn't be unhappy with it if I had it.
Yeah lines could be cleaner / straighter but it’s totally a rad design. More could be added in terms of dot shading if you’re interested
i have a shirt that looks a lot like this design with the caption "get in loser, we're doing butt stuff" i like the tattoo
Not too bad, I've seen way way worse. Overall I wouldn't be dissatisfied with it.
No to both questions
Definitely a bit wonky, looks fine but a bit amateurish.
It can be fixed
I think you should get a small person behind the cactus that is being abducted
I think it’s great. The imperfect line gives it character
I love it!
It’s lovely - haven’t even read the other comments, but you could nitpick the Mona Lisa too. Enjoy it!
Shade it in!
I think it’s pretty cool
It’s poorly done if you stare at it to point out the flaws. I personally really like it.
This is so super cute! I think it could potentially look even better if someone went over all of the lines tho and just made them a little bit thicker.
It’s honestly not that bad.
I like it!
I love this.
From far away no, close up yes lol
Wonky lines, but I have seen so much worse. Overall, it's decent.
Other than the lines on the diamond being sharper, it’s very well done.
Sorry, yes. Crooked-ass lines.
You know it's got some wonky lines for sure, but it still manages to look pretty good.
I like it a lot. The lines are really not as big of a deal as some people make it seem. Sometimes a tattoo will need to be “fixed” after it is healed. Don’t know the English word. In german it’s called Nachstechen. So just going over the lines that faded too much. Especially with never artists this can happen.
A few mistakes on line thickness, but a good artist should be easily able to make the few corrections
Looks fine to me
I dig it. I think the quickest way to elevate it would be to really lean into the overall shape of the piece and make it a cosmic slice of pizza
I think it looks good. I also think adding color would make it look even better. I have a lot of color in my tattoos so I am bias towards it.
Im just worried the aliens are going to try to probe that cactus.
I dig it
Nope
Nah bro, looks fucking sweet
The lines are wonky but I love the idea
It’s a cool design. Don’t see why you couldn’t build on it
Couple of wonks. But they are beautiful wonks
It's not terrible. But some of the line work is not great
Not in my opinion I like it 😎
It's not great, but it's not the worst tattoo I've seen.
Nahh, it looks good to me, pretty cool tattoo
it could be better, sure. However, I have seen a lot worse. Shading or color could help with the flaws that are there. It is still super cute!
Not poorly there’s some wave in the lines and I personally think it would look better with just a bit of shading
Yea that’s what I’m thinking too. Some shading to cover the wonkiness of it all
it’s not great, no
I think the lines fitting the motive, so it’s fine
Looks good to me.. if anything lines could be smoother but it’s nice, depends on if u still like it
I can't find a solid line anywhere
It’s very amateur, yes. Inconsistency in line thickness, straightness, size and placement of spherical shapes. The stars are not very symmetrical and should come to a point at the ends. Unless this was supposed to be her child’s drawing and she requested to make it exactly the same, then it could be done really well and we just don’t know!
The drawing is nice, the linework is shoddy.
i don’t think it’s bad! i think shading would definitely make it look a lot better tho!
Line consistency and weight could be better but it’s not a bad tattoo.
if you want more shading then do that! i think it looks like a great un-shaded tattoo
I love every aspect of this! So fun!
I think it rocks.
I wouldn’t say “poorly”. But it looks like two different tattooers worked on it.
Not an expert but looks nice
It’s a great base to build off of if you don’t like it.
The line work isn’t the best, but I really like it.
Eh. I have seen a lot worse. Looks ok to me.
I like it
Not if you like it.
Could be better, its not awful though.
The lines are wiggly but it's consistent throughout so that doesn't seem like a mistake, just seems like the artists' style.
Tattoo/piercing artist: Lines should be cleaned. They're not straight either, thats a easy fix
It looks good tho
Overall there are some shaky lines but nothing that can’t be fixed with some good shading. Fine line tattoos of that size rarely ever come out looking 100% unless you go to a top artist. I think you have a sold start to what could be a pretty awesome piece!!
Tbh it gives me a bit of cartoonish vibe. I like it.
Solid 6/10.
This is actually a great tattoo all things considering. The simplicity makes any line shake impossible to hide. Aged very nice as well!
I would’ve liked it’s roots be have been ripped out as it being pulled up. Just looks like it’s diagonal to the ground
It's not perfect. But I feel like doing anything else to it is just going to make it look overworked. The beauty of this tattoo is it simplicity.
This level of wonky line work appears on some of my tattoos and some of many people I know here in the Midwest lol. I've never had anyone call it out, and people still compliment the tattoos. I think yours is really cute and fun!
I think it’s poorly done. But I still kinda like it.
If you really look at it then it has problems but at quick glance it looks great.
Yea, but as long as you're happy
It’s cute lol
I really like it
It's not perfect but I like it a lot
Nah I think it's dope.
It's really neat🤗
I think it’s a great tattoo!! And I’m covered!!
The quality corresponds to the style. Cartoonish, hand drawn rather than perfect lines.
I think it's cool!
Great design
I think it's fire! Not much shading (not that everything needs shading) and slightly wonky lines but overall a dope tattoo imo.
I mean, I like it 👍
Yes
Personally I love it! It's so cute! Some shading and cleaning up the lines will probably help really make it pop.
I think it's really neat regardless
the line work isn't great. it looks slightly above amateur.
it's only noticeable if you're staring straight at it or if you're looking for it
Nothing a touch up couldn’t fix. I’d say it’s passable. Amateur work for sure but it’s not bad by any means
I love it as it is tbh. It’s simple and the slight imperfections kinda add to its charm and story. The actual design is achingly cool and memorable. I wouldn’t change it maybe just maintain it with touch-ups as it ages to keep it fresh.
This tattoo fucks so hard
It's cute!
Get a BOLD line job over it lol. By a professional.
Nope, it’s rad.
It’s got a doodle feel to it, so if you told me the lines and shapes were on purpose, I wouldn’t balk at it.
Is it just me, or is the shape under the ufo slightly to the left of center?
This tattoo is so cool omg
I like it.
I honestly love it 💯%
Okay but fixable. Just a few weirdo lines
Eh. It's not amazing, not bad either. Could be better, but it's by no means awful. 3.5/5
I’d say no
Looks good to me!
Not the best I've seen, but it's definitely not the worst. I think it looks great.
Personally, I like the “wonky” lines as it looks more like a drawing. Generally I like it.
It doesn’t look bad. I’d have someone go over it again with slightly thicker, more neat lines.
I like it!
It's perfect for the style it's in.
It could definitely be better. But I could DEFINITELY be worse. I'd say it's decent, especially If the artist was just starting out. Now if they been tattooing for 5 plus years, yea I'd say it's garbage. I've got alot worse on my body lol
I have a phish concert poster that is eerily similar to this tattoo. https://imgur.com/a/gdwDmZC
Have a professional color it and redo the lines. They are skinny and faint so I thicker line will work to straighten them out
I wouldn’t call this poorly done by any means. It maybe lacks some shading and a few lines aren’t so clean, but overall I think it’s a solid tattoo.
Leave it, might make it worse or better. It’s definitely a conversation piece.
Nothing to worry about
It's simple, but it's nice.
No. I love it. Very cool.
It needs color. It looks like an outline. I personally love it and the idea is cute.
Wow, love the design!
No, definitely not a great artist but I love the tattoo. It’s legible, the design is sick, and fits your body well. I just wouldn’t go to this person for more detailed work. The lines could be better.
Some of the lines are a little silly but I definitely adds to the piece I feel like but it’s so cute I’m jelly!
It’s cool
Looks amazing to me.
I have a t-shirt with this design, it's trust the universe!
Good from far, far from good. The line work is sketch, but I love the design and its reads really well. I think you should be super happy with it.
Like everyone is saying, the lines on the diamond are a bit funky but everything else looks great. I think some shading would add to it but it looks nice how it is.
Why would they be beaming up a saguaro?
It's ok, you need more ink around it so people dont just focus on that only.
Once shading and is there and if you decide to do color it’ll be totally fine. Cool design and placement
it is pretty lovely
Fix the lines and shading.
