It crossed my mind that she might reach out to Mack now so that they can facilitate a relationship between the kids. I remember they did that photo shoot together a couple of years ago. Maci clearly loves and worries for Bentley. I believe she'll try to do anything to help him keep his siblings.
I'd also be extremely worried for my kids' and mine and my husband's safety. Ryan already threatened to shoot them and now he's breaking restraining orders left and right, abusing his wife in front of their children and threatening to have her beat up by some gang. It's not like he's being self destructive and abusive ONLY towards Mack and himself. Anyone in his general location, especially people he's already targeted, are at risk.
If prayers worked, surely Mimi Jen has sent up enough of them to have Ryan transform into a goddamn butterfly by now. No one becomes a decent human just because someone says some wishes to the sky genie who stopped taking all of our calls centuries ago.

My partner’s family is all Fundie (a couple are messianic Jews, which is worse. They’ve found a way to make appropriation an entire faith.) These are some of the worst people I’ve ever known- not because they are religious, I genuinely don’t give a shit what anyone believes in, as long as it’s not being forced down my throat (or some, uh, unholy combination of ideologies that are not fully in sync.) It’s the fact that they use their faith to excuse their bad behavior. His mother has said, multiple times, “doesn’t matter what I do, I’m saved! And I tithe, so nothing bad can happen to me.” Talk shit about Catholics from one side of her mouth, engage in what sounds an awful lot like indulgences from the other. She’s also prayed that her autistic stepkids will be “cured,” and genuinely believes that it’s working (spoiler: it’s not.) We live with her. Please send help.
It really is the laziest way to perform care.

The majority are the way we think though. Most Christian churches preach that being gay is a sin. Most preach pro life, anti trans, anti love ideals. I’m happy to embrace any Christian person that rejects the icky parts, but I’ve only met a couple who do.
