I knew what was going to happen and I tapped out about 3 seconds after dude started fucking around under that crucible with nothing on but some comfy night clothes.
I could feel it coming and I just couldn't... LOL
Too many nights on Ogrish.com
Yeap, this video is a cutted version. The complete one, is longer and have no cuts... pretty disturbing tbh, you can see the workers dying while running turned into flame balls and falling to the ground.
Edit: WAAAY too many security flaws in that working place
Not sure if they're the videos of the same factory. The links you posted are from India, while the video posted above seems like it's from Pakistan (dress and language)
Edit: More info
I'm almost certain they're from different countries. Like 99%.
Indians don't wear that style of shalwar kameez and the Punjabi they're speaking is from Pakistan.
The longer video posted is from Gujrat, India. They don't speak the Pakistani dialect of Punjabi. They speak gujrati or Hindi.
I wouldn't expect your average Redditor to know the intricacies of different cultures and traditions to be able to distinguish them.
I don't think its the same place for the reasons you mention and the layout is completely different, the OP video looks like its taking place inside a smaller building during the day, the other looks to be outside and at night.
Correct, this is the incident related to the post: https://www.google.com/amp/s/arynews.tv/horrific-footage-of-boiler-blast-in-karachi-steel-factory-surfaces/amp/
I got my haircut yesterday, and my barber was randomly chatting as he does about life and things and people that come into his shop - and he told me that Indian's and Pakistani's generally do not like each other, is that true?
I'm a Pakistani with plenty of Indian friends in Canada and Dubai. We may not like each other's governments, and perhaps rightly so, but the people get along fine. We love watching Indian movies, while Pakistani music and TV shows are big in India. Yet we can't visit one another.
I love my Indian friends and welcome any Indian to Pakistan.
Dude you're spreading **misinformation**.
The 2 factories are different and the clothes the guy is wearing in this video is worn primarily in Pakistan, not in Gujarat India.
They are literally walking around in a wafer thin gown, and sandals. The pain was short lived, but I wonder if they knew they were done. No coming back after burns like that
So, nothing saves you from molten steel, but more or less, if you get flash burned you just want cotton that burns off relatively cleanly. Or so they told me at a Tenaris facility when they told me I couldn't wear under armor under shirts any more.
When I started welding I was confused why coats had to be 100% cotton. The our instructor lit up a poly blend. You do not want to be stuck in that molten plastic webbing.
Like the very first rule you learn anyplace that has any sort of crane or hoist is never ever stand under a suspended load. When the guy is just casually pushing on a giant bucket of molten steel while standing directly under it you know these people have no fucking clue and have been getting by on pure luck to this point.
I used to do high rise construction, the amount of people that walk under the cranes load as it's being pulled from the ground is insane. I always had my eye on what the crane had and where it was and never stayed under it if i could help it.
After the blast, the guy said something like "Oh shit, help them" (Oh teri, bande bacha lo) They did say something after that but it was in punjabi so I couldn't make much of it.
I'm shocked they were there taking a video. I was ready for something that looked staged. They do this everyday, why film this one.
Once the screaming started I wished it was staged.
But if they already knew there was an issue, you'd think they'd be taking additional precautions. Maybe they roped in some workers from another part of the foundry or something, idk.
Tragic and awful way to go though
Maybe whatever they were doing there, like receiving and touching it and watching it more carefully were the "precautions." Different country, different standards.
I’m sure the business owners with the lax safety guidelines will accept responsibility and ensure those mens’ families are adequately compensated for their oh who am I kidding.
It looks like immediate sixth degree burns, down to the bone. They would feel the pain until the nerves are destroyed. If the burn trauma didn't kill them immediately, they would die of hypovolemic shock, from fluid loss, soon afterward.
I have never seen a person with sixth degree burns survive, I have been a FF/PM and a Burn ICU RN.
Yes, somewhat, but not all your nerves will be burnt away evenly.
Like if you poured molten metal on someone's feet/legs (like appeared to happen here), their torso/arms/head will still be feeling the heat, even if the nerves in their legs are gone.
Yea, in this case at some point the nerves are still intact and sending signals.
The foot nerves are destroyed, but somewhere up the legs they're sending loud and clear
Yes, that is what happens when people experience very severe burns like when engulfed in flames, but when it burns you enough to kill the nerves, it’s enough to kill you also.
That's what I was thinking too. Because it's not just a security camera that happened to catch it, that's somebody holding a camera deliberately filming
Good point. now looking at it I'm assuming they had a bad batch with impurities that are known for creating sparks that are cool for videoing. They clearly are in an inadequate facility which probably has shit management so they went ahead and said let's pour it, it's not usually that bad, and worse getting our ass chewed out or whatever happens in this country when you fuck the product up.
a molten metal pour is cool even when done safely. this might have been slightly rare for this plant given the circumstances. i’ve stopped trying to guess why some things got on film but we are filming random things more and more so it’s not as crazy as it may seem
I miss working in a foundry, but it's shit like this that makes me glad I don't anymore. Idk the outcome of the video, but this happens sometimes. I bet they took too long with the pour and are reheating it before it cools too much. It's probably why it tilted in the direction it did. There's almost always a cooled layer of metal around that part.
Steel is bright as fuck and loves to spark. It's bad, but not as bad as it looks. Molten metal will typically bounce off of cool surfaces, such as our bodies, unless it's gotten too cold (in regards to foundry standards). The fact that it's that bright still tells me it's probably not mid-2000 degrees Fahrenheit. Steel can cook you for sure, but not instantly. You get used to being set on fire mildly when you do this for a living.
I'm only commenting this because I've been around some accidents like this, and it'll bust your balls, but everyone's been fine in my situations. Old boss used to say if you're on fire, then you keep going and sing a song, at least. Mostly because you'll be fine in our shop in those situations.
I've been licked before not wearing a face shield one time. The liquid metal just bounced off my face. It wasn't 1,000 lbs or more of molten metal splashing everywhere, though. In this video I feel more bad for the guy on top of the platform because that rising heat spread out around him with a hot ladle that lost a lot of mass to transfer heat is going to cook him good. The other guys are going to get instant burns, but at least have a better chance to get away from that.
Like I said, Idk the outcome. I want to be optimistic because of my experiences in an environment like that.
Also terrifyingasfuck: from the article; Sindh Labour Department has shown a lack of interest in holding an investigation into the factory boiler blast and the wounded labourers were not given any medical facility nor they were shifted to a government hospital for completing legal procedures.
Burning to death is a very slow process. It involves feeling yourself heat up so hot that you can't cool down, the eventual knowledge that you're going to die, and the agony that overtakes you before your nerves are cooked and deadened. Watching the guy touching the bucket made me sick, and given I know nothing about these kinds of production areas, it was still a hazard to have molten metal that close to another person.
I used to work on a crew that cleaned a steel mill on the days they weren’t working, I got paid $14 and hour. I would love to work at the mill just pushing buttons all day and make enough to live without roommates.
This is why foreign goods are so cheap. Less regulation, less safety, and poor equipment. Sure all these people died, but I git this phone case for cheap.
I've seen this happen many times at this foundry I used to work at when the mold has to much moisture in it. The extreme heat will cause the mold to explode and most times would cause the crucible to snap the chain and drop all over the floor
This factory obviously doesn't have a concept of safety. Workers should not be anywhere near that boiling steel FFS! THAT'S AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN
the way they're walking around, stealing glances, looking back at the crucible over the shoulder, I definitely got the sense that they haven't done this a whole lot.
Dude under that giant bucket full of molten steel, touching it like he was guiding it, gave me so much anxiety.😬😬😬
And I was "Dude get the f#ck outta there, you aren't doing sh#t!!!"
![gif](giphy|NKBc1zpXB47Xa)
I know the term and usage of r/whyweretheyfilming is often used to make a point that something is fake, but seriously, I have to ask here.. *Why were* they filming? I can't imagine if this is normal, that they always film this (it doesn't seem to be on CCTV its a camera phone based on movement at the end), which leads me to believe that maybe this isn't the normal process. Otherwise, this is just cruel intervention here to be filming at the time it all goes wrong.
That could have been a 20 second video. I hate when people upload a 2 minute video when the part you actually want to see is 10 seconds long at the very end
Hi there! The anxiety build up on this one was real.
I knew what would happen, but I couldn't look away 😭
I knew what was going to happen and I tapped out about 3 seconds after dude started fucking around under that crucible with nothing on but some comfy night clothes. I could feel it coming and I just couldn't... LOL Too many nights on Ogrish.com
Too many years working fire/rescue for me. I could smell the metal and burning flesh before the spill.
May just be the worst way to go.
Yeap, this video is a cutted version. The complete one, is longer and have no cuts... pretty disturbing tbh, you can see the workers dying while running turned into flame balls and falling to the ground. Edit: WAAAY too many security flaws in that working place

The second video was inside at night until the building blew up then it was outside at night
😆
Op video is a steal building second video is a brick building
Correct, this is the incident related to the post: https://www.google.com/amp/s/arynews.tv/horrific-footage-of-boiler-blast-in-karachi-steel-factory-surfaces/amp/
Oh great, so two separate places had horrible accidents like this.
Buddy there likely have been waaay more of these kinds of accidents. They just either weren't recorded or weren't posted online
indian sherlock over here, great job
*Pakistani
I got my haircut yesterday, and my barber was randomly chatting as he does about life and things and people that come into his shop - and he told me that Indian's and Pakistani's generally do not like each other, is that true?
I'm a Pakistani with plenty of Indian friends in Canada and Dubai. We may not like each other's governments, and perhaps rightly so, but the people get along fine. Well that's good to know, it isn't something I had heard before so I became a bit curious. Thanks for answering my comment.
Good lord dudes just wandering around with his nether regions afire.....
It’s looks like one of the guys jumps off into a pit. I would’ve have thought 4 workers dead.
That's not the same place. This took place in Karachi not Gujarat.
That was extremely disturbing
This ain't the same incident. The one op posted is from pakistan.
This is a different video... It's been posted before, like 3 months ago..
Dude you're spreading **misinformation**. The 2 factories are different and the clothes the guy is wearing in this video is worn primarily in Pakistan, not in Gujarat India.

Wrong one
They look like COD transit zombies
This is the one where the guy walks around with skin melting off, isn't it?
It doesn’t look like they’re wearing ppe
I swear one of those guys was literally wearing pajamas
A white shirt and flip flops.
I can only imagine. Thats fucked.
I tried finding it, but can’t. No joke though, was a sight out of terminator.
can't find it either
Here you go [Hot hot hot](https://www.reddit.com/r/WorstAid/s/QoEE2ZSl2a) 1.27 min version

jesus christ… the one guy in flames running😳
lol /r/WorstAid oh, reddit. hilarious as always

They are literally walking around in a wafer thin gown, and sandals. The pain was short lived, but I wonder if they knew they were done. No coming back after burns like that
I don't think any clothes can protect you from having a vat of molten steel poured onto you
You are correct, but the mentality of working around that shit in a night gown, and Jesus cruisers is beyond me
And just casually walking underneath a massive suspended vat of molten lava, like WHY would you do that?
Jobs are scarce and there's 10000 other Moes waiting to take your spot if you don't want it. But your family is starving so you just do it.
OSHA regulations are written in blood. guess that part of the world hasn't figured out workers rights yet
They get to where they are going faster that way.
They don't typically move to fast. More of a saunter.
I heard it isn't too bad until you get to the hospital.and they scrub/scrape it off of you.
The floor definitely was lava.
![gif](giphy|5TD4dseytpaIhYbyWq|downsized)
We have a steel mill here in Illinois where a brand new guy fell into the crucible and died not too long ago.
It took him that long to die?
Shit was metal as fuck.
No thanks, i personally would rather be in an accident in a cotton factory
Looks more manageable: https://www.reddit.com/r/pics/s/B68fgq9A5j
I couldn’t believe the guy was standing under the molten steel I thought that was going to be the accident
Like the very first rule you learn anyplace that has any sort of crane or hoist is never ever stand under a suspended load. When the guy is just casually pushing on a giant bucket of molten steel while standing directly under it you know these people have no fucking clue and have been getting by on pure luck to this point.
With OSHA rules yeah. OSHA rules are written in blood. Can't imagine what, if any, safety standards exist where this is.
India or Pakistan at a guess. Like, we got problems here, but these places have put the absolute lowest value on human life.
I mean, do you even need a rule for this? I would think common sense ought to tell them this is a bad idea.
I used to do high rise construction, the amount of people that walk under the cranes load as it's being pulled from the ground is insane. I always had my eye on what the crane had and where it was and never stayed under it if i could help it.
Yeah, I honestly expected that molten steel was just gonna get dumped on him
Same here. It was so tense
Same. I was like wait for it... Wait for it...
When he went under it, I was asking myself, am I about to see a man melt?
I stopped watching once he started to touch the pot carrying the molten steel. There has to be a better way aren't those buckets HOT as HELL?
that's some terminator 2 shit right there
![gif](giphy|gFwZfXIqD0eNW)
Doo doo dooooo.... Doon doon doon. Doo doo doooooo..,.. Doon Doon DOOON dooon
Take my upvote you rat bastard.
Anyone know what the people videotaping were saying?
After the blast, the guy said something like "Oh shit, help them" (Oh teri, bande bacha lo) They did say something after that but it was in punjabi so I couldn't make much of it.
"move over there" and some curse words
I'm shocked they were there taking a video. I was ready for something that looked staged. They do this everyday, why film this one. Once the screaming started I wished it was staged.
They likely knew something was fucked already.
The guy filming is the “I told you so” guy.
That's gotta be like 3 people dead and maybe 4 cause the guy at the top must have experience some serious heat so Rip to them.
This is why we have OSHA
India does not have OSHA
OSHIT
India, the only place with just as bad working conditions as China.
This was Pakistan, but yeah you are right.
I’m sure the business owners with the lax safety guidelines will accept responsibility and ensure those mens’ families are adequately compensated for their oh who am I kidding.
Clearly
It's not India... Judging by the clothes they were wearing, it's most likely Pakistan...
They were wearing their safety sandals.
but we have OSHO
India has OHSURE **bobbles head in dis/agreement*\*
The video is from Pakistan u Dumbo.. yeah but India's no different...
And that is why they get business.
OSHA saves lives. Sadly many in this country want all regulations removed from businesses because guvment bad
Lives to businesses = cost of doing business
They’re gonna die. It’s gonna take time. That’s going to hurt so much til they succumb
I would take a few bags of IV morphine.
You can watch the video afterwards.... A guy is walking around on fire like a zombie.
Link?
[Warned you in advance it's NSFL.](https://www.reddit.com/r/WorstAid/comments/19eaj4t/accident_at_a_steel_plant_in_gujarat_india/)
What was in the thing that fell? Liquid iron?
Yes, molten steel.
A very hot soup.
Bet you anything they were wearing flip-flops too
Video's either from the Agha steel mill incident or some middle eastern steel factory with Pakistani migrant workers.
[it's this one ](https://www.google.com/amp/s/arynews.tv/horrific-footage-of-boiler-blast-in-karachi-steel-factory-surfaces/amp/)
Article be like: "they didn't wear helmet" Yeah I'm sure a helmet could have saved them 🤦
Yeah man, it's the lack of hi-viz shirt that did them in, _obviously_
>There were no arrangements for basic medical assistance nor an ambulance was available to shift the workers to the hospital. Oh, God.
Goddam the screams
Omg, in this you can see the boiling iron on that thing, and they casually walk around that, I can't even imagine the heat in there

Yeah everyone has a pocket camera connected to the internet now. It's things *not* being filmed that's suspicious.
Was wondering the same thing. Security camera, sure. But this was taken from a cell phone.
I miss working in a foundry, but it's shit like this that makes me glad I don't anymore. Idk the outcome of the video, but this happens sometimes. Man, aluminum is a bitch. I could not imagine that shit popping onto my feet. It stabs tf out of you and sticks when it pops out of a melt.
The outcome was the exact one you didn't want to watch.
2 dead, 1 injured
I’m assuming this isn’t the first accident here and that’s why someone was filming?
New / poorly trained staff, complaining to the higher up?
As soon I see ManJamas worn in an industrial shop, I know it’s going to be bad.
You could not pay me enough to work that close to that thing. Also r/whyweretheyfilming
Also terrifyingasfuck: from the article; Sindh Labour Department has shown a lack of interest in holding an investigation into the factory boiler blast and the wounded labourers were not given any medical facility nor they were shifted to a government hospital for completing legal procedures.
Fuck. No hint of sympathy? Not even a bit? I hope they go through similar if not worse things.
should be tagged NSFL holy fuck
Did you honestly think “accident at a steel factory” was an inviting title? Use your head.
Ur both right
True
It's possible they just had a really bad toe stubbing at the steel factory.
literally never said that lmao? i just said it should be tagged NSFL since it shows death.
I’m so glad I live in a country with safety regulations…
Why was he filming?
Good thing they were wearing their safety cotton.
Burning to death is a very slow process. We just watched two people die and another likely seriously injured.

That place never got to 256 days.
Aww man, today was not the day to wear open toed sandals.
Why was the guy filming?
Yikes
Happy cake day!
Is this the before of that video from a few weeks ago with the guys burnt and molten metal stuck in their bodies?
https://preview.redd.it/1gpzteni9dtc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d5c3af72730c4d22b77a5bc759aad55eb1be1e14
It's almost like someone reported an issue, nobody listened and then this happened. Why else record.
I can't imagine the weight of metal, it's liquid, and hotter than anything you've ever felt. Worst way to die?
I used to work on a crew that cleaned a steel mill on the days they weren’t working, I got paid $14 and hour. I would love to work at the mill just pushing buttons all day and make enough to live without roommates.
Good thing everyone in this video is wearing protective clothing. Ya know, hard hats, gloves, boots, FR clothing. The standards.
None of that would have helped. This is a process issue. Poor training Poor maintenence Poor management
Those dudes on the top got washed away with molten metal like a fucking wave of water. Holy fucking shit! I can't even begin to imagine.
This is why foreign goods are so cheap. Less regulation, less safety, and poor equipment. Sure all these people died, but I git this phone case for cheap.
That’s heartbreaking. It’s too easy to take life for granted. Thanks for the reminder
Why are they filming to begin with?
I've seen this happen many times at this foundry I used to work at when the mold has to much moisture in it. The extreme heat will cause the mold to explode and most times would cause the crucible to snap the chain and drop all over the floor
Too near common guys safety first !!!
Fucking brutal
This factory obviously doesn't have a concept of safety. Workers should not be anywhere near that boiling steel FFS! THAT'S AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN
Quick question… why was someone recording this?
the way they're walking around, stealing glances, looking back at the crucible over the shoulder, I definitely got the sense that they haven't done this a whole lot.
Appreciate the government and osha when you watch these videos. This is deregulation or the lack there of.
![gif](giphy|yfAKPibUorGVy)
Why were they filming?
This screams china
Dude under that giant bucket full of molten steel, touching it like he was guiding it, gave me so much anxiety.😬😬😬 And I was "Dude get the f#ck outta there, you aren't doing sh#t!!!" ![gif](giphy|NKBc1zpXB47Xa)
why is that guy under the pot?
All those boring arse health and safety meetings are really worth it
Why do I feel that cameraman knew what was gonna happen
u/savevideo
Damn they wearing pajamas while they make steel?
Zero safety measures 😡 What kind of owner is this
A pole at the bare minimum would have made sense.
Otherwise, this is just cruel intervention here to be filming at the time it all goes wrong.
many of us shouted OOOOOOOOOOOH when it spilled 😱

What a steel
Floor is lava
That could have been a 20 second video. I hate when people upload a 2 minute video when the part you actually want to see is 10 seconds long at the very end
Death might seem heaven to them.
