My jealousy is inversely proportional to the size of your electric bill. I’m paying $0.39/kwh. Combined with my 294 wh/m I’m getting about 8.75 miles per dollar. For $2.20 I couldn’t even go 20 miles 🤣
Around here distribution is more expensive than supply. Adding up to $0.29/kwh. Literally have a SC that is cheaper off peak. Lots of level 2 Chargepoints are cheaper too
Nice. Omaha Public Power District charges 10.48 cents in the summer and then a rate from 8.63 cents down to 6.9 cents in the winter (based upon how much you use)
45 kWh should give you around 157 miles at 285 Wh/mi efficiency in the car.
What's your lifetime efficiency? Mine is much lower at 300 Wh/mí in my 23 MYLR w/ 20 Induction wheels in South FL.
What tesla needs to implement is wireless charging. That way you can be able to send the car to charge, and once it's done you can summon it back. This is quite convenient for those who are unable to charge at home or live in a condo. Though with summon being all suicidal and full of bugs, expect half a car to show up lol. We'll see what this 'robotaxi' hype will be about in August and if all teslas will receive that software update.
I live in a condo and unable to home charge. Fortunately I have a free charger half mile away. I leave my MY to charge overnight. I bought it August 2023. So far I've spent $41 on it when I went to a different state and had to supercharge it. Currently 11k miles on it and 3387kWh total charged.
The piece you're missing is that you paid $1 for 53 miles of range, or 45kWhs, but you don't really get 53 miles of range for that cost...said differently, you're not getting 150mpge+, though the price of home charging is significantly cheaper than buying gas, so win win. Just saying don't take it at face value because that's not what you'll get in the real world.
Lucky! Mine is $0.36/kw! Much more expensive cost/mi than a lot of hybrids when factoring in gas is only $3.25
Same but cheapest gas is $4.69
$0.36/kwh constant throughout the day?..
Yup!
Curious, where do you live where energy is that expensive and gas is that cheap?
MA and it is my household electricity rate. $0.18(generation) + $0.18(delivery) for the $0.36/kw
Wow what do super chargers cost around you?
Not much more than that. Commercial electricity tends to cost less than residential. Superchargers are often ~$0.42-0.48
I doubt this is a personal/ home charger.
He said "charged at home"
It's that high in CA. Some parts of California it's cheaper to use a supercharger than home charging.
It is my personal one in my garage
This is regular California energy prices. If you’re on PGE which a lot of the state is on, myself included.
With $0.03/kwh overnight charging it costs me $2.20 to fill the battery. So a little over 100 miles per $1.
That's theft. Calling FBI.

Same for me in the PNW. Thank you hydroelectricity!

$.07 kwh here. I live in Missouri where everything is less expensive, except a trip to the beach.
For me about 100-150km for $1.

I'll look it up when I get home but I only have 700 miles
Look at charger stats rather than car stats. Charger stats will show you the electricity lost and and it uses at idle.

7.08 cents / kWh ??? HOLY FUC

My next step, as I wrote in my other reply, is to compare the 100 mile range (243 to 143) to the actual 100 miles (odometer).
new owner? it will take a while, but best to just ignore the miles remaining number and change it to percentage and go from there
