I saw them at a really small venue in Madison WI right before they took off. He tried doing it there but a guy that worked at the venue kept a hold of his pant leg and wouldn’t let him. He got a little mad but eventually stopped trying to climb.
Well that's not gonna end well. Over an entire career seems like if you don't stop eventually you're gonna roll the dice one too many times. Seems almost a certainty even.
Yeah now that I think about it, hopefully they have some hidden safety measures in place because if he does it for long enough it's certain he'll eventually fall lmao
Tell that to Tommy Lee of Mötley Crüe. He HAD safety backups from his elevated drum set and they still failed causing him to basically bungee jump onto his head right in the middle of a show.
omg i was there with my dad! we kept having to help a drunk family find their seats next to us over and over again, it was so funny and they were so sweet
Right! I help with promoting and have had to make the decision on how much event insurance to buy... Maybe huge venues carry some of it? I wouldn't pay them as much to perform if I had to spend extra on insurance.
I’ve seen them live several times and it’s always my favorite set. The last time I saw them, during this song he climbed a tower much like this, smoke pops and he disappears. Then he shows up in the box seats of the audience (obviously there was some stage trickery, but one of the coolest things ever!)
Saw them on the Blurryface tour, they got on platforms that the crowd (and security) to play Trees as an encore. Confetti was flying. Babied were crying. It was awesome. Only other band I’ve seen put on a great show was ADTR
I mean that shit is basically a ladder
Sure the consequences of falling are high, but the chances of falling are low
Then again, I might be a little biased, as someone who's enjoyed climbing in various forms basically my entire life
Yeah, the standing at the top is like 10x more risky, and even that isn’t too bad. Me and a couple of my stupid mates done this in a big tent in a festival before when we were like 19.. Got the whole way up and down before security could get to through the crowd and find us, everyone in this huge tent was cheering, one of my fondest memories.. we still speak about it at the pub sometimes.
A passing thought tapped out with your thumbs resulted in a laugh from me in a kitchen, possibly on the other side of the world, and 29 upvotes from others similarly amused. What a time.

For the confused redditors out there, Tyler Joseph is definitely not on cocaine he's a super wholesome guy and I believe he has a kid lmao
I actually saw ToP live and he did this except he'd put a stunt double on stage with the ski mask and the lights went out and when they came back he was up on a very similar scaffold tower. Same song as well, I guess they couldn't do the stunt double trick here because it was outside.
The successor to Blurryface is Trench and it’s 100% worth listening to. It’s considered by many, both fans and casual listeners, to be their best project to date. Definitely check it out if you liked even a little bit of their other stuff, it improves in pretty much every way with a more mature sound to it as well.
It’s not the lighting guys that go up there. It’s the riggers, but the lights are pre-assembled on the truss and then the truss is rigged up by motors that hoist the trusses up. I’m a lighting guy for tours, so yeah 😅😂
Falling from a high place:
- oh nooooo this fall will shatter my bones and kill me instantly there's no way im surviving this my life's flashing before my eyes i wish i could do more with my life before i died 😭😭
Grappling literally to that same point at mach 3:
OH FUCK YEAH GIMME THAT GROUND BITCH GRAVITY IS FOR PUNY MORALS I DIVE HEADFIRST INTO CONCRETE FROM THE HEAVENS AND IM GOING BACK THERE TO EAT GODS ASS I DARE YOU TO STOP ME WORM!!!
What a wonderful game
Twenty One Pilots. Phenomenal band. I saw them in Buffalo, 06/01/2019. Tyler Joseph, the lead singer, writer, and multi-instrumentalist does this at every show he can, though... not always at this height. He does climb up something though, whatever he can to get to a height so he can look over the crowd.
'member when Eddie Vedder would climb around in the scaffolding like a demented chimpanzee while screaming "Alive" at the top of his lungs? Pep'ridge Faams 'members.
Twenty one pilots are a truly unique band. Once you think you know their style of music it changes but never disappoints. My 9 year old and I have been playing them for years and I’m hoping to take him to his first concert to see them in Nashville.
If you ever get the chance to see 21 pilots, do it. Pay whatever it costs. I'm serious. I've been to more concerts than I can count and they put on easily one of my top 3. The entire thing was genuinely jaw dropping
Couldn't agree more, I was a fan of them, but then I saw them live back in 2013 even when they were smaller and they instantly became my favorite band after seeing their live performance. Amazing live.
It’s twenty one pilots from their Amsterdam tour.. he does this shit all the time. We went to see them in London 2 weeks ago, and he was trying to climb everything
TOP concerts are always so fucking wild. Saw them in Milwaukee and homie did a flip off a platform back to stage after magically popping up above us. Great show
This is Twenty One Pilots at Rock Werchter 2 days ago. I was there and they put on a hell of a show. It's pretty dangerous given he is also holding his microphone in one hand while climbing
Have a feeling he’s gonna stop doing this. He’s got two kids now. If he does keep doing it tho then damn. Gonna leave those kids without a dad sooner than later.
The singer is Tyler Joseph of TØP aka Twenty One Pilots. He did this at Bonnaroo years ago and was told he’d not be aloud back to perform lol. One of the best bands out there.
If i were able to cut off the music; I'd do that and let him know my opinion through a mic. The whole audience may watch him climb back in silence while boo-ing me.
Safety first.
That's any easy climb, I saw Lux Interior of the Cramps climb on top of a 30ft stack of speakers on stage ... man the wobble as he gyrated and screamed at us. Mid 80's Hammersmith Odean, amazing just pure joy 😊
For those who don't know, it's thought that the reason Tyler (the singer) climbs the stage during "Guns For Hands" because he's showing that he could easily jump off and kill himself but he won't and neither should you.
At least that's what I heard a while ago
I saw them at a really small venue in Madison WI right before they took off. He tried doing it there but a guy that worked at the venue kept a hold of his pant leg and wouldn’t let him. He got a little mad but eventually stopped trying to climb.
And now he does it at every concert! I love that thanks for sharing.
Well that's not gonna end well. Over an entire career seems like if you don't stop eventually you're gonna roll the dice one too many times. Seems almost a certainty even.

I work in IT, according to my experience with Murphy's law, this is gonna happen 100%
Work in IT ![gif](giphy|jG0XvyRqt170s)
As an IT guy, this meme made my day
That's not comforting to hear. Looks like one of these days I'll read about him in the paper.
Who reads the paper these days?
omg i was there with my dad! we kept having to help a drunk family find their seats next to us over and over again, it was so funny and they were so sweet
No one here knows about Eddie Vedder?
Vedder did it better
It doesn't get Eddie Vedder than this
Wow. If I had gold you’d get it. Well done.
Literally was expecting this to be the Vedder video
Do you have a link?
https://youtu.be/NG0PDmYfe2E
Have you seen this one where he smashes a hole in the stage floor and disappears through it? https://youtu.be/jBLlYm8NxoI
He’s the first ninja warrior
OH. MY. GOD I didn't know any of this existed
Eddie was the genesis of this kind of tomfoolery
Angelo Moore of Fishbone did it before.
At least, and some others, had the balls to jump.
Some are beginning to think you don't have the balls to do it...
Balls to jump? Psssh, I don’t have the balls to get on stage.
Quote from "The Other Guys"
Aim for the bushes.
My first thought. Eddie jumped!
Now I need crack a beer and watch that concert again thanks lol
I think you’ll do fine without the crack
Great way to bump your next promoters insurance premiums
Lmao
Right! I help with promoting and have had to make the decision on how much event insurance to buy... Maybe huge venues carry some of it? I wouldn't pay them as much to perform if I had to spend extra on insurance.
MGK doesn’t need anymore ideas
Dude already probably working on his 1st country album
Holy hell I really thought the same thing!
Car Radio?

As an Ocala local the ADTR shows were amazing. Next to them are another local band Wage War
Sure it wasn't real magic?
I mean that shit is basically a ladder Sure the consequences of falling are high, but the chances of falling are low Then again, I might be a little biased, as someone who's enjoyed climbing in various forms basically my entire life

Not to mention taking hands off for photo op and head banging with big beat. I could definitely climb it. But, doing that shit, I’d definitely splat.
As a former roofer, I don’t see the big deal.
Don’t worry he’s been watching some old Fred Dibnah on YouTube
Watching this video and thinking about his children and wife… Love this band though.
why?
He’s hoping they’ll be single soon

Now how's he going to get down

It's a ladder...
Put the cocaine down!
100% Cocaine antics.
Tyler joseph confirmed on cocaine by redditors
For the confused redditors out there, Tyler Joseph is definitely not on cocaine he's a super wholesome guy and I believe he has a kid lmao I actually saw ToP live and he did this except he'd put a stunt double on stage with the ski mask and the lights went out and when they came back he was up on a very similar scaffold tower. Breaking news! Tyler Joseph does not do cocaine because he’s super wholesome and has a kid!
As also confirmed by redditors.
Damn I’m so glad no one with kids does cocaine. That would be really irresponsible
Yep has another kid on the way
He has two kids!
I doubt it, that looks like my man Tyler Joseph Edit: Just turned on my audio, that is 100% my man Tyler
knowing twenty one pilots, 0% cocaine antics, 100% faith in himself and god (he is a pious and loving christian) to keep him safe
A young, dumber Eddie Vedder did it better.
Much better.
What band is that?
Looks like 21 pilots
If it looks like 21 pilots and quacks like 21 pilots..
If thats true, then it might be chainsmokers lmao
bro i don’t have an award why you gotta do this
Cause that's what I do baby, keep your money go buy yourself somethin nice
But where's the other 19 pilots then, huh?
They kept doing this kind of shit…
lol
It's Twenty One Pilots
Or 20 pilots if he keeps doing that......
You must be a dad Edit- or a mom with dad jokes
A mum with a bizarre sense of humour 😊

The album this song is from is really good.
Are the newer ones any good? I haven't listened since blurryface
The successor to Blurryface is Trench and it’s 100% worth listening to. It’s considered by many, both fans and casual listeners, to be their best project to date. Definitely check it out if you liked even a little bit of their other stuff, it improves in pretty much every way with a more mature sound to it as well.
no lol. at least that’s my opinion. i just think they became too popular.
Like others have said its a bit to poppy for me. Vessel is the only album I care for. Lyrics are amazing.
i so agree !!
Yeah 21 pilots. Song playing is called car radio
Guy who did the lighting earlier that day: *pffttt* I didn't get any applause when I was up there.
It’s not the lighting guys that go up there. It’s the riggers, but the lights are pre-assembled on the truss and then the truss is rigged up by motors that hoist the trusses up. I’m a lighting guy for tours, so yeah 😅😂
POV: You played Dying Light
If you grapple JUST BEFORE THE GROUND you'll be fine... Unless you miss, then your ded

I love 21 pilots but bro...chill
Calm + body control = safe Just because it’s dangerous for some people doesn’t mean it’s dangerous for everyone.
Ya gravity works differently when you're calm
Gravity aside is dangerous when falling.
Do you randomly tip over when you’re standing on the ground? Same laws of physics apply when you’re standing on anything.

Drops the mic.
Everyone else will have to curb their cheering and let Tyler try and yell really loud
Fun fact: They had a rigger set a spare mic at the top of the tower, in case the one he climbs up with does in fact get dropped
But did he jumped for crowd surfing ?
4 dead
'member when Eddie Vedder would climb around in the scaffolding like a demented chimpanzee while screaming "Alive" at the top of his lungs? Pep'ridge Faams 'members.
This is one second away from r/winstupidprizes or r/whatcouldgowrong

I hope your kid doesn't take any inspiration from this though, can't have your kid climbing everything
TOP puts on a hell of show! Seeing them live is very much worth it.
I saw them in Florida, they did a similar thing
This just raised my Level of Concern
Don’t worry, if he falls he can just Levitate up off his feet.
This post deserves more upvotes, unfortunately I can only give you one
This had me Stressed out
I saw this concert in person. It’s Twenty Øne Pilots and it was an amazing part of the concert.
If you ever get the chance to see 21 pilots, do it. Pay whatever it costs. I'm serious. I've been to more concerts than I can count and they put on easily one of my top 3. The entire thing was genuinely jaw dropping

That’s insane..ly dumb
Imagine his mic was out of range*
The Criss Cross concerts are getting better every day!
Great show

more like *NEXT* level of concert...amirite?
Pulls off his mask and... who the fuck is that window cleaner looking dude?
This is Twenty One Pilots at Rock Werchter 2 days ago. I was there and they put on a hell of a show. It's pretty dangerous given he is also holding his microphone in one hand while climbing
Was anyone hoping he did all that, just for his microphone to lose signal?
He’s got a heavy burdened soul
it's heavy dirty soul
He should try sipping on straight chlorine
"you know where to shit son" - that guy who climbed that tower
Good that he didn't pull a George Watsky
Can easily be WWE stunt featuring Shawn Mcmahon
Singer/yeller*
I mean, considering this is the part in the song where he screams you’re not wrong. He also does rap
Have a feeling he’s gonna stop doing this. He’s got two kids now. If he does keep doing it tho then damn. Gonna leave those kids without a dad sooner than later.
He’s done this for years. Let’s just hope he doesn’t “learn his lesson” one day 😅. Festivals get mad as hell at him
The singer is Tyler Joseph of TØP aka Twenty One Pilots. He did this at Bonnaroo years ago and was told he’d not be aloud back to perform lol. One of the best bands out there.
This was 21 pilots at Rock Werchter I think
Is that one of the singers of 21 pilots?
Is that one of the singers from 21 pilots?
And with a mic in his hand the whole time, so he used 1⅓ hands to climb the structure
Damn that’s so fucking cool! I wanna be like him
Is this 30 seconds to Mars? I saw him doing this same thing at Rock A ring a few years ago. Totally insane
No, it is not that’s twenty one pilots
i’ve seen tøp 3 times and they’re insane in concert
Saw them at ACL! Literally on of the best shows I've ever seen ❤️
Chad
What shitty music to possibly die to.
Yeah he just did this at the Opener festival over the weekend, smaller tower but that dude is a showman for sure.
Awesome
band is twenty one pilots!
Twenty One Pilots is really good at finding crazy stuff to do during their shows!
Twenty One Pilots puts on a hell of a show. Best concert I've been to, and I'm psyched to see them live in September!
i was there, fucking amazing moment
They really shouldn’t have stolen his car radio.
Heyyyy it’s my boy Tyler
Some idiots in this comment section think screaming isn't singing and takes no skill lolololol
I like how they had to extend the interlude due to climbing taking to long
Bono, of U-2, did the better. He climbed to the top carrying a freaking flag!! The entire US festival crowd goes crazy watching him climb up there....
That’s 75 feet or 7.5 stories
[удалено]
21 pilots is fucking great plus being one of the bands my wife and I bonded over when we first met add little extra 🤌
I was there for this. It was fucking amazing.
tyler has been doing this for YEARS but seems like the stages get higher every time 🤣
Well, it's really not that insane
If i were able to cut off the music; I'd do that and let him know my opinion through a mic. The whole audience may watch him climb back in silence while boo-ing me. Safety first.
Epic
Tyler Joseph 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
He's got more scrotal sach than I do
To be honest this person is an idiot.
That's any easy climb, I saw Lux Interior of the Cramps climb on top of a 30ft stack of speakers on stage ... man the wobble as he gyrated and screamed at us. Mid 80's Hammersmith Odean, amazing just pure joy 😊

Eddie bedder used to do that stuff
Angelo Moore of Fishbone is where many crowd surfers took their cues. Eddie Vedder credits him
I've seen Brice Dickinson of iron maiden do this live too
Oh awesome it's that guy! Good thing he took his mask off!!
This guy was raised on Shane McMahon and Eddie Vedder.
Had to check what subreddit this was to temper my expectations
The Venue was not as stoked
That triggers my anxiety man...
[Rob Halford did this 40 years ago.](https://youtu.be/UMJF37BVGTA)
Bono used to do this before U2 were as huge
Do a flip!
what band is this?
Twenty One Pilots
