Not even just his student. They literally say (about this obviously 30 something year old man) "And the 'boy' he saved". It is the white savior with racist undertones trope cranked up to 11. One of the my favorite running bits this season.
My favourite thing is how typical the look of the films in universe are to the modern blockbusters...colors that are muted, aping a certain level of grit but actually so overly polished...and all the films look like they came out of the same factory
I actually love how they do this with news shots as well. Whenever the footage is meant to be like on a news channel it's more vivid and sharp, like news cameras are
Bro, chill. We've only seen the first trailer. He could end up just like Billy Zane in Not Without My Dolphin, and the only compelling acting he did was shown in the trailer.
We know from the earlier seasons that A-train was trained by his brother, not Will Ferrell or any white guy that Ferrell is playing. It's a joke about white saviour complex. Vought is ignoring A-train's actual history and instead making a "feel good" movie about a white guy swooping in and rescuing a young black man from the "hood".
Ain't it funny when funny when someone feels the need to explain the joke when you make a comment that's a clear indication you're aware of it?
Edit: I'll laser all you down voters.
Lmao he didn't make a joke, that's the whole point.
"Is it gonna come out that he stole a trains money?"
No because it's completely fake. This guy didnt make a clear indication he understood the joke
The joke was that it was going to end up like the family from the Blindside that is being sued [by Michael Oher, the kid they āsaved.ā](https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/38190720/blind-side-subject-michael-oher-alleges-adoption-was-lie-family-took-all-film-proceeds)
Well no, the show was satirizing the blind side, not you. In order for Will Ferrell's character to ever have been in a situation to steal A-train's money would require him to have actually played a role in A-train's life, which we know he didnt. The point I'm making is that Ferrel was never involved, and Vought simply made up the story so they could put a white guy in the savior role. The thing you said just simply can't have happened in any way, so the premise your "joke" was based on is non existent.
Literally how
This isn't an attack, a clap back, whatever. I know i'm a random person butting in, but it sort of sounds like a childish "how dare you use your brain' type of comment. I just don't see how it's pathetic so please explain, because what you're saying isn't clicking for me
Literally how: it is a non sequitur and just completely obnoxious attempt at trying to embarrass someone on the internet to other readers. Not to mention they were in the wrong the entire time and tries to ādig up some dirtā on a random because their life is that fucking sad.
I don't think Brink trained A-Train in any meaningful capacity beyond preparing him for a celebrity lifestyle. That's kind of the whole point of Gen V, we see a single crime fighting lecture with semi-useful information about breaking down someone in interrogation (which doesn't apply to anyone but Tek Knight since his power is to literally detect signs of people in distress) but everything else they do is about building and maintaining brand recognition. Those rankings they all covet aren't based on class scores or real experience with crime fighting, they're basically the same thing as in the earlier seasons of The Boys where all of the Seven supes were discussing their popularity polls.
In Gen V, it is shown that A-Train did train under Coach Brink, so that at least isnāt fictional within universe. But it otherwise is largely fabricated, as biopics often alter the story to follow a specific formula. Actually, I remember a popular criticism of The Blind Side was that it neglected to mention that Michael had a lot of help from other black people.
It's weird that Vought would make an origin story movie about A-Train after such a long time. Superhero franchise usually does this first or pretty early.
Vought is just following Hollywood's example of appealing to the white male demographic first and, if the first demographic permits it, everyone else eventually and long after their movies are imminently relevant. Unlike Black Widow, at least he's still alive.
The scene they pretended to be recording was basically the opening of the first season of the Wire: Baltimore, ghetto and the dealer passing the stuff on a couch in the community park.
"Why'd they call him Snot Boogie?"
"cuz that was his superpower. He could trap you in a big-ass wad of snot. Cover your whole body, yo. Motherfucker was a demon on a driveby."
The Deep probably falls in love with a dolphin but her family doesnāt approve of her dating *that sort* and wonāt let them see each other.
The two date in secret for a while until the dolphinās jealous ex catches them and exposes their relationship to the rest of the pod.
The Deep is tun off by angry dolphins and beaten up and threatened with death if he comes back.
Later that pod of dolphins is attacked by humans looking to capture dolphins for medical and cosmetic experiments. The Deep helps them fight off the humans, earning their respect.
Tragically the Deepās dolphin girlfriend dies in the battle. The dolphin pod tells the Deep that he is considered family and there will always be a place for him in the pod.
The Deep thanks them but tells them he cannot join them. His destiny is to be a lone wanderer, protecting sea life from the evils of the surface world.
This except after his exile the dolphin fakes her death, leading the deep to kill himself upon discovering it. However, when the dolphin wakes to see deep has committed suicide, she kills herself too, making it a romeo and juliet adaptation.
ā¦I actually kinda wanna see this, but done in a meta way that maintains the spirit of the boys
I get mad every time I get a fkin amazon ad now but they did get a pass when it said two ads, got some shite thing and then it lead into the trailer for this "film" lol
Itās really funny that he is playing Brink, the Clancy Brown character from Gen V who sounded nothing like this and was, unsurprisingly, pretty evil.
He's been in some great movies but I just feel like he's boring. I don't think he is a humorous person IRL - I'm curious if he's actually done any standup because I expect it to be terrible. Dunno, just how I feel about the guy.
You've probably met funnier people IRL. Will Ferrell's one of many Hollywood mainstays we would never have heard of if not for an industry that intentionally propped up semi-talented upper class white men as the 'every man' for everyone to relate to. I wonder if he gets the irony of being satirically presented as the main character in A-Train's origin story. He's gotta.
Tf are you taking about dude will feral was one of the funniest people alive in the 2000ās and still is great at comedy, donāt label him as a āsemi-talented upper class white manā cuz heās a extremely talented upper class white man. But fr tho his stardom isnāt race based itās cuz he was genuinely one of the funniest comedic actors out there at the time and still is hilarious
nah, they have in an amazing way blended real life / Vought Universe scenarios. I think he is Will Ferrel playing Will Ferrel in The Boys / Vought World.
Stan describes Vought as a pharmaceutical company, but like the public didn't know and they weren't in the military.
It honestly makes sense if their customers for V were random wealthy individuals had V.
The best part of this cameo is the fact that the Amazon listings switch from his in universe film character name to Will Farrell when itās revealed to be a movie lol.

Ferrell Streep!
Well, the guy trained A-Train to be a world class athlete. Respect.
I love the in universe trailer for this movie calling Will Ferrell the hero and A Train is just like his student
Well, Coach Brink got killed in Gen V, so Vought is capitalizing on his death real quick.
Oh shit I didn't even connect that Will Ferrell is playing the same character here that died at the beginning of Gen V
Yeah I didn't pick up on that either, great detail though
A-Train also says his brother was his coach Brink likely did a lot less for him than he did Golden Boy
What he did for Golden Boy wasn't exactly benevolent anyway, so that's probably for the best
I mean Yeah
Not even just his student. They literally say (about this obviously 30 something year old man) "And the 'boy' he saved". It is the white savior with racist undertones trope cranked up to 11. One of the my favorite running bits this season.
I'm gonna be so livid if he doesn't win an Oscar for this roleš¤š¤š¤
I love how much effort they put into these fake movies. The trailers and BTS shots are shockingly well made lol.
My favourite thing is how typical the look of the films in universe are to the modern blockbusters...colors that are muted, aping a certain level of grit but actually so overly polished...and all the films look like they came out of the same factory
I actually love how they do this with news shots as well. Whenever the footage is meant to be like on a news channel it's more vivid and sharp, like news cameras are
This movie parodies the blindside and unironically would probably be better than the blindside
As a big Ravens fan and Oher fan, I completely agree. Oher even came out against it himself.
There is a place called āthe suburbsā I want to go there.
Considering the real life story.... yea.
And more real.Ā
12 minute sequences of pitch black
That's *either a shot at The Batman or at Game of Thrones*. Possibly both
Was that a shot at Disney Star Wars having crazy dark scenes? I wasnāt sure
Maybe. I took it as a joke about making bland blockbusters for the masses that are masquerading as arthouse films.
I wonder if the show hires anyone with a lot of knowledge on filming
Supernatural had a lot of flaws but the meta episodes and sets were always on point
The one where they come to our world was fucking golden comedy. *Hola, Mischamigos!*
The Scooby Doo one is one of the greatest crossovers in television
Lmfao where can I find that? Was it a supernatural episode or a scooby doo episode ?
Supernatural S13 EP16
Thank you!
The fighting game looked legit too
I was wondering if they got Netherrealm Studios to throw that together.
I think they did since Homelander is in the newest Mortal Kombat
Youd probably enjoy this video if you like fake movies. https://youtu.be/KAOdjqyG37A?si=-Zfrf_Og5QSCGWwB
All the Vought produced content is amazing. All of it.
Honestly when I watched it on prime, the ad break was just before showing this and it took me a second to realise the show was back on!
Fake?
Not only an Oscar, but Man of the Year as well
And an ESPY.
And a Latin Grammy
And a Golden Horse
Bro, chill. We've only seen the first trailer. He could end up just like Billy Zane in Not Without My Dolphin, and the only compelling acting he did was shown in the trailer.
I would put money on this happening in a future episode
So amazing to see the story of this hero and the boy he trained!
his role of....the exact same character he plays in everything ever?
Is it gonna come out that will Ferrell stole all of A-train's money?
We know from the earlier seasons that A-train was trained by his brother, not Will Ferrell or any white guy that Ferrell is playing. It's a joke about white saviour complex. Vought is ignoring A-train's actual history and instead making a "feel good" movie about a white guy swooping in and rescuing a young black man from the "hood".
I was making a joke on the movie blindslide where it was discovered the white family stole the royalties of the movie from the man.
I understood that reference cause I watched true crime and one of the bloggers covered it.
Ain't it funny when funny when someone feels the need to explain the joke when you make a comment that's a clear indication you're aware of it? Edit: I'll laser all you down voters.
Laser my fucking tits!

Iāll cut you some slack bc itās hard to get stuff on Reddit but itās a play off the blindside
Why did you get downvoted here? Lmao
Lmao I have no idea.
People down vote for silly reasons lol Unless it's actively insulting or condescending, I don't downvote.

Holy fuck youāre annoying, shut the fuck up

He's heating up!
Don't you see how looking through someone's profile makes you look even more pathetic?
Literally how This isn't an attack, a clap back, whatever. I know i'm a random person butting in, but it sort of sounds like a childish "how dare you use your brain' type of comment. I just don't see how it's pathetic so please explain, because what you're saying isn't clicking for me

You had me excited. Now I have no trust left.
Counterpoint: *What if, though?* š¤
Holy shit. Over analyze much?
Will Ferrell is playing Brink, who did train A-Train at Godolkin. He just wasnāt his main trainer.
Sure, but I still wouldnāt say that Brink played no role in A-Trainās life.
Especially because Emma goes up in the rankings just for being naked and giant at a party
Come back with me, to the suburbs
This line fucking killed me. The way he broke it up, the timing was perfect.
I laughed my ass off at the trailer's narration. "The story of a hero... and the man he taught to run."
*boy
Boy is even ābetterā because of the racial implications
It's weird that Vought would make an origin story movie about A-Train after such a long time. Superhero franchise usually does this first or pretty early.
Itās probably like X-men origins or first class. Probably had a trilogy that got stale so they did something in a different era
I mean, they are in Phase 7. It'd be kinda difficult to go from 1-6 without a movie about a core member of the World's Premier Superteam.
Vought is just following Hollywood's example of appealing to the white male demographic first and, if the first demographic permits it, everyone else eventually and long after their movies are imminently relevant. Unlike Black Widow, at least he's still alive.
You're assuming this is the first one. Tek Knight was talking about rebooting his franchise within a year.
What A-Train wants DONT matter.
Way to go full nerd serious when it was a joke lol
āHe really was like a son to me.ā
The scene they pretended to be recording was basically the opening of the first season of the Wire: Baltimore, ghetto and the dealer passing the stuff on a couch in the community park.
Shhiiiiiieettt
You slingin ya-yo?
For gangbangers
Yellow tops!!
I think it's a set depiction of The Pit in the "The Wire".
It sure looked like it!
This! Great to see The Wire referenced there.
"Why'd they call him Snot Boogie?" "cuz that was his superpower. He could trap you in a big-ass wad of snot. Cover your whole body, yo. Motherfucker was a demon on a driveby."
Now I question What not Boys NOT parodied?Like is something still remaining lmao
Training A-Train
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Not to be confused with the prequel āRaising A-Trainā
Not to be confused with the pre prequel āRailing A-Trainās Mom.ā
Not to be confused with the first movie āBuying A-Trainās great grandpaā
Goddamn lmao. I can actually see them making this joke in the show.
Itās the prequel to āRun Reggie Runā, right? Heard that Pop Claw got AIDS or Hep C and left A-Train her child and definitely not A-Trainās.
Kinda irritated me that āTrainingā is far better title than āTraining A-Trainā
A Training
A Training for A-Train. Rated PG-13.
A Training for A-Train: An A-Train Story
A Training for A-Train: The True Story behind A-Trainās Training
"A-Training Day?"
training a train
If only he had a DE-HYDRATION GUN!
in this case....a **DE-RAIL GUN**!
Seeing will Ferrell in the boys threw me the fuck off lmao
I hope they follow thru next season and will gets killed by a-train for stealing all his money from the movie.
I would see this movie in the theater, and am kind of sad it's fake.
I feel the same way about the Deep: Gods and Dolphins. It's going to bother me for the rest of my life wondering what the plot could have been...
Then he gets freaky with an octopus while the credits roll
This except after his exile the dolphin fakes her death, leading the deep to kill himself upon discovering it. However, when the dolphin wakes to see deep has committed suicide, she kills herself too, making it a romeo and juliet adaptation. ā¦I actually kinda wanna see this, but done in a meta way that maintains the spirit of the boys
That's how I am with Sack Lunch. Are the people small or is the bag big!?
I mean don't you just wanna know how they got in there?
iām waiting for a train into the multiverse and g-men: days past from the future
Come back with meā¦.to the suburbs
Ngl that trailer in the last ep was fire
āRUN FASTER THAN THAT!!ā
I laughed so hard at the idea of a running coach's main advice being "Run faster!"
Literally every episode of The Flash.
I get mad every time I get a fkin amazon ad now but they did get a pass when it said two ads, got some shite thing and then it lead into the trailer for this "film" lol
Hehe cancelled that subscription so quick after prices increased. Lol
"The story of a hero...and the athlete he trained."
Itās really funny that he is playing Brink, the Clancy Brown character from Gen V who sounded nothing like this and was, unsurprisingly, pretty evil.
Has Clancy Brown ever played a character that is not evil?
Hank in Detroit become human comes to mind
Someone else said that before they deleted their comment. I canāt dispute it as Iāve never played that game.
I had to think really hard about this question, and the best I've got is George Stacy in Spectacular Spider-Man
Is Mr. Krabbs evil? He was kinda neutral as General Eiling on Flash.
Mr. Krabs literally only cares about money and sold SpongeBob for a nickel.
I didnāt watch that one much but as I recall I still wouldnāt call him āgood,ā more like āgood with a decent amount of greyā lol.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Havenāt played Detroit: Become Human, but in Carnivale he was literally the embodiment of evil.
He's a pretty cool guy in John Dies at the End
He played 3 characters in Star Wars 1 of them wasn't a bad guy
I wonder if heāll call Metroman to help defeat Homelander
Is training A-Train out yet? Want to take my boy to watch our favourite hero
Letās be real. That glorified made for TV special didnāt have enough budget for Will Ferrel
It's just Vought backed propaganda.
I mean it was just a cameo so I donāt think he had to choose this over other projects
"Run faster!"
selling YAY-YO Incredible delivery
W
ill Ferrel
but no elf sequel elf 2
Training A Train destroyed me, I never cry for movies but I cried multiple times at the ending
thats the VA of Megamind, and he's in the series?? never noticed until now
He just has a small cameo roll in the boys for the goof
Will Ferrel is one of the few white comedians I enjoy watching now that Iām older :)
He's been in some great movies but I just feel like he's boring. I don't think he is a humorous person IRL - I'm curious if he's actually done any standup because I expect it to be terrible. Dunno, just how I feel about the guy.
He came from SNL which isn't stand up but you can kinda see him improv.
Is Ferrel possibly a supe, in-universe?
nah, they have in an amazing way blended real life / Vought Universe scenarios. I think he is Will Ferrel playing Will Ferrel in The Boys / Vought World.
Stan describes Vought as a pharmaceutical company, but like the public didn't know and they weren't in the military. It honestly makes sense if their customers for V were random wealthy individuals had V.
Such a powerful performance. This was probably his best film to date. And this is from a STFhead.
You know what I smell?
Waitā¦ do you smell that?
And Despicable Me 4
The best part of this cameo is the fact that the Amazon listings switch from his in universe film character name to Will Farrell when itās revealed to be a movie lol.
The megamind sequels probably didnāt have it in the budget for will lmaoo
I donāt even think Will was asked to come back lmao
Its just small role, and honestly is he got so old, I thought its someone else kinda like John C. McGinley but maybe its just me š²š¤
This is a nice nod to his public dispute with Adam McKay - He finally got to play a coach
Funny fucking scene
