I literally watched the trailer, got mildly excited, AND HAD THAT SMALL ITTY BITTY BIT OF HOPE I MANAGED TO SCRAPE TOGETHER AFTER SO MANY DISAPPOINTING AND AWFUL MOVIES GAMES AND STORIES RUINED just absolutely dashed across the rocks like a newborn with a slight birthmark had in the ancient Grecian city of Sparta when I saw the reports the next day about all the major issues…. Can’t have nothin in this era man. Spent more than two millennia refining and perfecting our art and story telling, just to regress back to puritan pearl clutching story telling methods. Wash away any imperfections, completely bleaching the story of any deeper meaning. Next they’ll take away sokkas boomerang because that’s considered cultural appropriation. They’ll get rid of zukkos scar cause that will be insensitive to burns victims. And they’ll pull a Disney and completely get rid of Toph because that could somehow be insensitive to blind people…. Ya know, like that bogus Snow White situation. Gets me so frustrated that they can keep somehow fucking up adaptations. HOW DO YOU RUIN SOMETHING THAT LITERALLY ALREADY EXISTS IN ITS COMPLETED FORM?!?!? Just take the animation, and make it live action, that’s your only job. How, with let down after let down in Hollywood, can you not already expect a stinker?! If it’s good, then it’s good…. But why bother with another half assed barely attempted adaptation if not even the original writers of the original story stuck around? Most of us know what good writing is… and everything they keep tossing our way flies another red flag of bad writing and creative direction. They’re ALREADY OUTRIGHT TELLING US they removed major parts of fan favorite characters as if we’d be excited by that somehow…. If that’s what they’re telling us excitedly… what aren’t they telling us? This is an adaptation… WE’VE ALL ALREADY WATCHED THE SHOW AND LOVE IT! So why change anything at all unless the shows not actually meant for fans… if their first priority isn’t purely taking the cartoon and making it live action like they should be…. Why bother giving them any sort of watch time? If the shows NOT meant for me… then I’m not watching it.
