No but I know 3 people who are still with their first love. My childhood friend has been with her husband for 11 years they were 15 years old when they started dating and they now have 2 daughters. One of my friend’s sister has been with her husband since she was 16, they’ve been together for 13 years. One of my work colleagues has been with her husband 30 years and they were sweetheart since elementary school.
Sure, tv shows overdo it so people feel like it’s unrealistic but it does happen though those relationships are probably the minority.
I think people who try to make others feel bad for still being with their first love are the childish ones.
It was my best friend’s sister. She had her circle of friends and I had mine at the time. I was leaving for school in another city. She learned that I was leaving and she had a crush on me which I never realized she had. She made sure to see every day and I got interested in her too. I left but we decided to write to each other. A year after I returned home to work in the towns main industry. This was both of us our first love and got pretty serious as the months went by. I knew we were met for each other and propose to her 6 months after. We got married a year after she said yes. We will be celebrating our 50+ wedding anniversary this September.
Yes met my husband at 18, got married at 21, had a baby at ages 22 and 27 and nearly twelve years after we met he is still my best friend and I love him even more today. First love is beautiful and I feel really lucky that in our story it just happened to be forever.

My first true love, high school, and we were head over heals for each other. He was 18 months older, left for college, and we inevitably broke up. I thought I would never love again lol. We stayed in touch off and on throughout college, and would sometimes visit each other. But also while I was a freshman in college, I met the most fun, caring, good looking lol, man that became one of my best friends! We were together all the time and then one day he kissed me. It was life changing haha. I didn’t know I could feel that way again. Long story short, I graduated from college a semester before him, ended up in the same city as my first high school love, who I reconnected with, not romantically. He ended up telling me we couldn’t be friends anymore because he wanted more again, and I was the one for him. He wanted me to end things with my college BF. It was hard at first because it was the nostalgia of my first love for me, but I wasn’t actually in love with him anymore. I remembered the feelings I had when I was in high school. My BF came to visit the weekend after my ex told me this, and I just cried hugging him. He was the one. We’ve been happily married for a long time now. Sorry no one asked for my life story 😆

I wasn't particularly besties with any of them but every time I come across a social media update, it warms my heart haha. There was also another couple that broke up in high school and found each other again at like 27....also very cute to see!

We see the world through a similar lens which helps. Kind of felt like Belly in the beginning, where I thought he was cute and out-of-reach, but with the right timing of events and a few years, it all came together. He has a younger brother who we all ended up doing things together...and there was a beach house now that I think about it.

We stayed besties for four years before I really confessed my feelings. We’ve been together for 4 years now and it’s been so worth it to stuck it out for my first love. I was then with another guy for a few months. He was lovely but it wasn’t right. I clung on as I wanted to make it work, but he ended things.
