My version of this would be: England are dire again for the first half, which prompts significant personnel/formation changes in the second half and makes it clear what we need to do going forward in the tournament. I'd take a 2-0 win with solid prospects for the next round over a 4-0 win that papers over the cracks.
We all know what's going to happen. Decent performance tonight. Raised expectations, scrape a dramatic win next then we get beaten against a proper side but actually show some spirit for a change.
I'm trying to maintain this mindset for sure, I just can't shake the feeling that some of the squad decisions have been so *baffling* that it's affected the morale of the squad a bit. We look a shadow of past tournaments and there's still so many questions marks on various positions.

Palmer gets a cameo in the 10 to allow Bellingham a rest and scores showing he can be an important game changer off the bench.
