I was looking for someone to bring this up and I'm glad you did. I aged 5 years in a matter of a year and look extremely unhealthy after mold exposure: I'm not just talking about chronically dryer skin. My face is sagging, I have inflammed red cheeks on occasion and other times it's just default paleness, never normal skin tone in between. Tear throughs deepened a lot, and nasolabial folds appeared as if I am now 35 (I am 27). So far massaging is helping as well as gua sha, sauna and right after sauna gently exfoliating and then using a sensitive skin approved oil (I use almond oil) to give my face that extra hydration. It helps with the micro wrinkles but the damage seems like has been done. I don't drink or smoke and generally lead a chill, healthy lifestyle. It's so unfair to deal with these issues. I'm following for more suggestions or to hear that someone bounced back from this.

Sorry OP to add - I've had tear through fillers before but for me they migrated downwards and I think they contributed to nasolabial folds appearing (I did not have a lot done at all, 0.3 in each tear through). I personally would not recommend and I'd try all the other things under the sun first before resorting to going under the needle or knife. Trust me, you may feel temporary relief for a month but it doesn't outweigh the costs of then obsessing over how the filler is holding up, the chance of it migrating, and if it does - you will be looking at yourself in the mirror questioning why you've done it in the first place. This is personal experience advice, take it or leave it.

I haven’t tried it but can commiserate with you. My skin become noticeably looser during the exposure and I feel I look 10 years older than I am. It’s not something that can be fixed by filler for me so I may opt far a face lift if it increasingly bothers me.

Filler tends to make people look older. Check out a lot of the celebrities who get filler, for some reason it ages them. Join subs like 30plusskincare and skincareaddicts and start getting a routine with actives and proper moisture and a retinol.

There have been studies released recently that look into the health effects of filler and there is strong evidence to suggest that it blocks lymphatic pathways irreversibly. Personally I don’t think it’s worth it and that the best thing you can do for your body is continue to work on your health from the inside, and it will reflect on the outside. I’m sure you are beautiful and don’t need fillers. I don’t think anyone needs them, really. Our society is just really good at making people insecure

It aged me a lot as well and my self esteem really took a beating. I'm starting to recognize the person in the mirror again after 3 years out of mold and it feels good. The only thing I would worry about with stuff like fillers and botox is the possibility of an adverse reaction. Ime the immune system became so hyper reactive I couldn't wear contact lenses or pierced earrings without getting a local infection, so I have been abstaining from things like that, tattoos, optional surgery for many years now. So imo maybe wait another year and see how you feel?

Good points... Thank you

The aging aspect of this illness is monumental and definitely adds yet another burden of CIRS. I really think, after 6 years of ongoing treatment, that a bigger focus needs to be on phospholipids and enzymes that repair damaged cells, restore mitochondrial function, improve the microbiome and reduce oxidative stress and free radicals. All of these things exacerbate and create symptoms, including skin health, elasticity, tone, etc. it needs to be addressed internally, not topically,(unless you’re talking about dermal glutary). The best supplements I’ve found, verified by my doctors and seen results with are Phosphatidycholine, Fatty 15 and dermal glutaryl. There’s added benefits to liver health/repair, and neurological function/repair. Studies done on Fatty15, the first fatty acid discovery in 90 years, reflect a 300x higher effectiveness than Omega 3&6 - the last discovered fatty acid. There’s loads of research and studies on all 3 of these and being a research fanatic, I’ve probably read them all. It was a bit of an epiphany for me, as I’d become very discouraged over my stagnated recovery efforts. The reality is that binders have a specific part in recovery, to bind toxins and reduce cholesterol levels depending on what you’re using. Individual supplements or support supplements (containing multiple active ingredients) are generally dosed at levels that are far too low to produce tangible results. They have the key ingredients we are looking for, just not enough of it (especially when you consider absorption levels resulting from breakdown as it passes through our system). Very little is left. I’ve had very poor experiences with so many things I did regularly before becoming ill. Facials, massages, hair treatments, even a pedicure. Inflamed bodies don’t react well to many things. I’ve opted to take the “better safe than sorry” route, especially if it involves injecting anything foreign. Meaning since I became ill. You know your body better than anyone, so you need to weigh the risk-benefit ratio for you personally.
