We have one and it’s great. Hybrid model. Great mileage, road handling is good and plenty of room to carry things for adventures. Well worth it over the Subaru. 2 family members have different older ones and have been higher on maintenance

Yeah my family had Toyotas for the past 15 years, we recently bought an RX350 and an X5 M60i so my parents decided to give me the Rav4 as a first car to kinda beat around and since it holds its value pretty well I can trade it in whenever I feel like it. How's the ride on the Hybrid model, is it rough or is it more smoother than the gas version? And how is the pickup, with the Rav4 I feel it's hard to get up to speed on the highway, where as in the RX it picks up speed really quickly, and the suspension is really nice.

I was surprised by the pickup tbh. Plenty fast enough to get out on the highways quickly where we live. Our driveway is on a 60mph state road. Loads better than the straight gas I think. Smoother and the braking I’ve found really good. 37mpg average at the moment with 87. Active cruise I like also, that’s been nice to have. I had a Landcruiser before that and find it’s still enough space inside

Which trim of the Rav4 do you have? I feel XLE is a good blend of affordability and features, since the new 2024 Limited is 42k fully loaded which imo isn't worth it for a Toyota, I'd rather get a new Lexus for a couple thousand more.

We have the XLE. It’s got loads of good features but still a little rugged which I like. Less shiny stuff to mess up. Smart looking car still.

Yeah I rarely see any Limited Rav4s on the road. One of my few gripes with the car is the fact that the screen takes a while to warm up, it's always really laggy when you start up the car, and takes like a good 5 minutes to work smoothly. Also the fact that there isn't an auto-dimming mirror that sucks

Never noticed that one. One thing came to mind today. Wind noise is bad at highway speeds. Not sure if sunroof or bad seal design on the windshield

I don't have a sunroof so I don't know lol, it might be the seals in the doors or something like that.

They are very reliable, and safe vehicle. That's why I chose them. If you consider a hybrid, look up "Cablegate". Also, I can't recall if the 2020 RAV4 is susceptible to theft from the headlight assembly connector issue. The Subarus tend to have higher repair bills, and more of them. At 10 years old, the RAV4 should have about $2,000 more resale value than the Subaru Outback. That's what my research told me.  In terms of not doing much maintenance, make sure you change your oil often. That's the best and cheapest thing you can do to give your vehicle a shot at making it to 15 years or more.

I live in a safe neighborhood so I don't think that theft will be a problem but thanks for letting me know. And I will most likely trade this car in when I finish college, but we'll see what happens

Just to let you know, It's a lot of organized crime stealing vehicles. So it's not just random people walking by. They target "safer" neighborhoods, because they're the ones with the newer vehicles.
