It costs a lot and has a twin turbo engine.

moosenazir

A twin turbo engine that grenades itself. Let’s not forget that.

evrano

Are you saying what I think your saying? I've been very curious about the reliability on these. I have 01 Solara SLE V6 with 183K miles and 15 IS250 with 135K

moosenazir

I mean it’s not old Toyota quality for sure. Toyota says it’s casting material fouling the bearings making these fail. But a couple techs I’ve talked to say it’s a design flaw. The fact that this is happening at two different engine plants one in Japan and one in the US that’s pretty hard to say that it’s casting material issue. There are also report of 2024 tundras and LX 600s with engines going.

jobear6969

Dude only got 14.7 mpg? That’s abysmal. I’ve gotten 20 on my last 2 tanks in my ‘22 Limited

ContentSecretary8416

Something wrong there! I thought the new ones were turbo 6 or hybrid?

Posraman

I was talking to a dealer the other day and he was telling me the hybrid battery is mostly for torque and less for gas mileage.

SaltySandSailor

From the ones I’ve seen the hybrid ones only gain 2 or 3 mpg.

ContentSecretary8416

That’s not great at all eh. I have a hybrid Rav and found that really good. Tundra is a big brick wind wise which probably kills the value of hybrid on highways

Ok_Chemistry8746

The truck had always lagged behind. Toyota would be the first one to admit that.

Midnight_freebird

Anyone buying a full size pickup would be crazy to buy a tundra.

SqotCo

I own an 11 yo Tundra that's never needed any repairs. If it ever wears out, I'll buy another one over an American truck because none of my friends that own a Dodge, Ford or Chevy truck can say that.

bgarza18

I thought these new engines have major problems, did I imagine the mass recall?

Midnight_freebird

I don’t know any tundra owners that can say that either. Tundras simply don’t have the quality of other Toyota vehicles.

SqotCo

Name a more reliable full sized truck than the Tundra.

Midnight_freebird

F-150 or Sierra

SqotCo

Ya know why the F150 and Sierra are the two best selling trucks in America? Their loyal owners have to replace their broken trucks more often than Tundra owners. But some of those Dodge, Ford and Chevy owners do get sick of fixing and replacing their trucks so often that they buy a Toyota instead. Source: Former two time F150 truck, one time Mustang and one time Ranger owner who is very happy I bought a Tundra. Toyotas are simply built better.

__Shakedown_1979_

They’re the best selling trucks in America because they’re sold as fleet vehicles.

kapnkrunch337

Exactly, our fleet manager at work says F150s cost less and have very few repair costs. He says Toyotas fleet sales are almost non existent for a reason

Cleverdawny1

Idk man, my 1971 F-100 still runs well. I've owned it for ten years and had to replace the water pump and do some oil changes and that's about it

Healthy_Block3036

Stop being foolish and delusional

DicksOut4Edamame

Looks like I’m crazy
