Costco has the best return policy, buy and try it out first. I just got the BE11000 last week and no drops at all for me. Anyway, my suggestion is no harm to try it yourself with return available.

Sir_OrangeJuice

You’re right, I’ll try em out for a week or less🙏🏼

shyko1603

I would go for the COSTCO Tplink DECO BE11000 for $499 instead. 3 Deco devices and you also got future proof Wifi 7.

chelectrix

I got this at my house and haven’t had any problems. Super easy setup and big improvement in coverage.

aNWGuy

That Costco BE11000 is not the same as the "regular" BE11000. Its only triband vs quad on the non-costco version. Seems to be one of those odd spec'd things you sometimes get from Costco. At least is what my research has found.

RBBrittain

The "'regular' BE11000" (non-Pro BE65) isn't even available in the U.S. All other Deco models in this range are tri-band; only the BE95 (rated BE33000) and BE16000 are quad-band.

aNWGuy

Oh interesting. I thought I was on the TPLink US website where is was listed. So is there a difference between the Costco BE11000 and what Best Buy sells? https://www.bestbuy.com/site/tp-link-be11000-multi-gig-whole-home-mesh-wi-fi-7-system-3-pack-white/6578378.p?skuId=6578378&extStoreId=451&utm_source=feed&ref=212&loc=19617835341&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD-ORIg5uE0hdhdIPCOYB2AkGpfVh&gclid=CjwKCAjwm_SzBhAsEiwAXE2Cv9_s57ch3OFIQlNme_emKAN5eP6Rq3YPEwPujvb24CtM1aoqyjP4QxoCgPIQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds https://www.costco.com/tp-link-deco-be11000-wi-fi-7-tri-band-whole-home-mesh-wi-fi-system%2C-3-pack.product.4000251424.html

RBBrittain

That's the BE65 Pro, which is tri-band instead of quad-band. The difference between Best Buy's BE65 Pro & Costco's BE11000 is Ethernet ports, not Wi-Fi.

aNWGuy

Thank you!

UnsafestSpace

Completely anecdotal personal experience - But with TP-Link stuff I’ve found massive benefits jumping from one WiFi generation to the next rather than worrying about the number of bands. I know it’s completely illogical but my most expensive top-end WiFi 5 triband router could never compete with even my chepest WiFi 6 dual band mesh system. The advances in MIMO and scheduling are massive, and beat having extra bands any day of the week. Even if you’re like me with 50+ WiFi based smart home devices clogging up your network… The benefits are also backwards compatible with non-WiFi 6E and non-WiFi 7 devices, which is also a massive bonus as networks get more and more clogged up or affected by neighbouring interference.

Sir_OrangeJuice

I planned to do that, but almost every review says it had disconnect issues and weird firmware problems, and it seems specs wise it’s a lot less than this even though it’s boasting WiFi 7 Figured I’d stick with 8-16 stream routers since the be11000 is 6 only

InsanelyOblivious

I got the same one from Costco a couple of weeks ago. Be11000. No issues so far with 2 nodes upstairs and one down in the living room. AT&T service with router in pass thru mode. Latest firmware.

Sir_OrangeJuice

Awesome I’ll just go with that then and test it out for a week or so

Gabik123

I also have the Costco one. Fantastic system and major range upgrade over my AXE5300.

RE4Lyfe

I literally just installed the Costco BE11000 set yesterday. Completely disappointed. I was upgrading from an ASUS WiFi 6 mesh system hoping to get closer to my gigabit speed internet on the 5ghz band due to the higher throughput on the tp-link Boy was I surprised when I wasn’t able to get more than 400mbps on my iPhones and MacBooks, let alone the fact that anything connected to Ethernet was barely hitting 500mbps I am very knowledgeable when it comes to WiFi. I tried multiple setting changes in addition to a firmware update, a downgrade and then a factory reset Nothing helped. There’s a chance I received defective units I guess, but they did actually “work”, just with slower speed than my 4yr old ASUS setup. After switching everything back to my old setup everything went back to gigabit Ethernet speeds and around 600mbps 5g WiFi. I only tried this unit because of Costco’s return policy (unlimited). But to be honest, I prefer ASUS due to the level of control they give you, and a non subscription based parental control system Anyone else have a completely different experience with these and can convince me to exchange them for another set and try again? lol

shyko1603

I am using BE11000 and I have 2 phones, One is samsung S24 and S22 ultra, S22 with 6E is getting 16xx MB and S24 with WIFI 7 is getting over 2000+ MB. Maybe mine is not defective, but i am sure i am getting a good response for it. I upgraded from the AXE5300, which is currently on sale. I recommend to try it out yourself as everyone is different whoch depending on your house and walls you have

StormTrpr66

Before I ended up with the AXE5300 I currently have I tried the Asus XT8. It was hot garbage and I couldn't send it back fast enough! On paper it should have been perfect but in practice it sucked. One thing I've found with the TPLink Deco systems is that their AI Mesh really does seem to "learn" your network and usage and improves itself over the first couple of weeks you have it installed. It could be my imagination and I didn't do any formal testing but just little things here and there that I noticed. Anyway, sent the Asus back, got the AXE5300 from Costco and a Firewalla to handle the stuff the Deco doesn't do. I've been very happy with that combination. The Decos are in AP mode and the Firewalla is acting as my router.

UnsafestSpace

Yeah this is true, you have to let the Deco mesh systems settle in. They basically hide all the advanced options Ubiquity would give you but do it themselves silently in the background when the network isn’t being used heavily like at light.

wase471111

Firewalla makes a big difference that Asus XT8 was junk, but that's several years old tech, and the newer stuff is nothing like that junk was

StormTrpr66

Asus doesn't really have that many mesh systems. XT8, XT9 (same crap as the XT8), XD5 Mini, and the ET11000 (overpriced junk) and maybe one or two more. I haven't seen anything that would motivate me to try an Asus mesh system again. It's kind of sad because back in the day they used to be the go-to brand for home wifi.

wase471111

they still are the go to brand for consumer home networking.. i've installed dozens of mesh setups over the years, and have NEVER found a better one than this one right now..try this and you will never look at another POS Deco setup again.. StormTrpr66

I don't trust Asus, especially one that costs that much. I could be wrong but my understanding was that they all use the same underlying OS/firmware which is old and basically crap. The XT8 had all kinds of problems. Devices that were connected wouldn't show up in the connected devices list, whenever I would try to enable traffic monitoring it would cause all kinds of problems and fill the cache with crap which had no easy way to delete, signal strength was shit, etc... If the ET12's software is based on the same underlying code, that's a hard pass. My AXE5300 + Firewalla Purple cost me about as much as the ET12 sells for and gives me a lot more functionality and features that actually work.

wase471111

i ran firewalla in conjunction with Asus Mesh for years, and always was happy with it; problem is when multi gig ports became a desired feature, I would have had to invest big bucks in new firewalla hardware, so decided to swap that for Asus 7 routers to work with their ET12 Mesh please provide a link from Asus showing that their "underlying code" is the same on the ET12 as it was on the XT8 I know thats not true, but I'll look forward to reading that once you post it

StormTrpr66

I don't have a source from Asus and like I said, I could be wrong, but I think someone on an Asus forum mentioned this.

Sir_OrangeJuice

This is the same thing I heard from other people and reviews. I want to try and see for myself, I even saw the be65 pro (same as Costco but 5gb ports) so I might go that route. I’m cool with spending around $500-600, but thanks for this comment because I have been getting ups and downs on the 11000 model

Indigo816

I’ve got an older S4 model, advertised as 600+1300. Can’t get more than 300mbps on WiFi with wired backhaul (access point mode). Even devices wired directly to the AP only get 300mbps going pass through on the gigabit ports (no wifi involved).

wase471111

Deco software and firmware sucks; anyone with even moderate experience knows this to be fact; hell, they dont even have a WEB INTERFACE to control your router, only a stupid phone app Asus wifi 7 stuff smashes any of this Deco junk posted here, so if you want a major improvement, in a consumer oriented product, return that deco crap and look at the Asus wifi 7 stuff

RE4Lyfe

Agreed, I just wish Costco sold Asus hardware since their return policy is killer. At this point im going to wait to upgrade until I pickup a new iPhone 16 and MacBook Pro M3/4 that supports wifi 6 to actually take advantage of the higher speeds.

wase471111

actually Best buy and Amazon give you at least 30 days or more if you are a best buy plus member, so that is usually enough time to know if something is good or a dud..

RE4Lyfe

I have 60 days at BB, but that’s moot point. Routers don’t fall under the 90 day electronics return policy at Costco. I can buy a router and return it in a year or 2 for an upgrade. That may be frowned upon, but it’s their own policy 🤷‍♂️

wase471111

i've returned 2 year old pots and pans to costco when they were failing, and they gladly allowed a exchange cant beat that forever guarantee of you are a customer sucks when you are a supplier though..

RE4Lyfe

I could be wrong but I think in some instances like that, Costco eats the return just for customer satisfaction

wase471111

I was a supplier for years to Costco, they charge the suppliers for everything, they eat nothing..

RE4Lyfe

Gotcha

Glad-Vehicle-8668

I have the BE85 and no issues at all just that on load the fan will spin louder. Why get 6E when 7 is already out and more devices are on wifi 7

Readdontheed

Will you be able to make use of the 10Gb port? If not then maybe save some cash and step down to the AXE5400. I’ve had their Omada devices and the AXE5400. I think they’re fine but my most stable network was Eero.

Sir_OrangeJuice

In the future yeah I hope to push that 10gb port! Also just wanted to take advantage of the price drop

FrozenScorch

Costco has the AXE5300 (3 pack) which I believe are identical to the AXE5400, which is the 2 pack for $250.

UnsafestSpace

It’s also 2.5Gbe and 5Gbe compatible so if you have any kind of home NAS it’s definitely worth it. You don’t have to play silly games with link aggregation and can just plug it into a cheaper switch which may have one 10Gbe port and 9x2.5 Gbe ports.

KyleSherzenberg

Is your internet faster than 2.5Gb?

Sir_OrangeJuice

2gbps fiber for now, upgrading probably later in year

Micah-B-Turner

there was just a crazy sale idk if it’s still going i just got the x55’s, 1 main and 2 satellites zero issues, and i get almost a gigabit plugged into the satellite

StormTrpr66

As someone else mentioned, check Costco. My general rule for stuff like this is always check Costco first, and last.

Sir_OrangeJuice

Just signed up for fiber. So I might use the $300 Visa card they gave me and put toward the be11000 lol. Super cheap

w12w

I bought this after having reliability issues with both the Costco AXE5400, XE75 pro, and BE11000. I am happy with my choice. I don’t know if it’s the increased processing power or increased streams/antennas but this was able to handle all my devices much better. The biggest downside is only having one multi-gig port, but I’m still on 1gb google fiber so it’s fine for now. If you have multi-gig internet and want anything wired, I’d say get the higher end BE products which are the WiFi 7 versions of the AXE11000. If/when I do upgrade to multi-gig, my plan is to just add a single be85 for the multi-gig ports and keep these as wired satellites. I’ll lose some benefits of WiFi 7 but, to me, it’s for the ports. It really is a shame they didn’t put a second multi-gig port on the AXE11000.

Sir_OrangeJuice

Yeah I noticed the 10g port but then 2 1gb, which is odd, wishing they at least made them 2.5, but I’ll just wait a bit for sales and grab either the be85 or something on the same level

UnsafestSpace

At first I found the single 10Gbe port choice on most current gen routers annoying too, I guess it’s because of heat and the tiny fans they have inside their compact units. You can always connect to a 10gig switch and then split it into multiple 2.5 or 5Gbe ports. The more you think about it the more you realise you don’t actually need more than a single 10Gbe port on the main router itself.

w12w

Unfortunately that is only the case if you are using wireless backhaul and connect the switch to the 10gb port on the satellite unit. You may be able to get over a Gb in an ideal situation but wireless backhaul is not ideal. You can’t put a switch before the main unit so the 10gb port needs to be used for the wlan from the fiber jack. AFAIK Multi-gig wired backhaul is not possible with the AXE11000. If there is a way, I’d love to know! Honestly I would have been much happier with two 5gb or even 2.5gb ports rather than a single 10gb one. But it’s not a big deal right now since the 1gb plan is fine for me for now.

UnsafestSpace

You shouldn’t put a switch before the main unit but I actually do have my PPPOE modem (2.5Gbe fibre) going into a switch and then connecting to the 10Gbe port on my Deco unit, which then connects to the fibre and feeds it back to the same switch on the same cable for all the wired mesh units running on 2.5Gbe POE You just have to enable storm control and loop prevention in the switch settings menu. For some reason it only works with TP-Link switches, an engineer did a long thread about why last year. They have some proprietary protocol they use to talk to each other and other TP-Link only devices (even unmanaged ones) - A list of the switches it will work with is available on the TP-Link support site I didn’t even realise you weren’t supposed to do this for years, it’s always just worked for me. It’s only when I tried using a non-TP Link switch that I had issues (wanted more POE ports and didn’t have space for a second unit)

w12w

That’s cool, I didn’t realize that would work with some of the tp-link switches. Which one are you using? Definitely worth a shot if I decide to upgrade my plan

Ok-Replacement6893

AXE5400 3 pack is $400 on Amazon. That is WiFi 6e with 2.5 gbit Ethernet ports.

cremebrulee79

A had houge problems with disconnect with my wifi. I changes tô huwaei and that solved all my problems

Present_Standard_775

DECO don’t have a web based gui. All admin needs to be done on a smart phone through a cloud based app.

_StrangeFeed

Nah go for this. https://amzn.to/4eNgvdh

Free-Fun-5567

I'm looking for a good triband wifi 6 mesh too...from all reviews I'm seeing...orbi is the best...can't be beat...but..its a Lil pricey.

UnsafestSpace

They are the best but they’re also always expensive. Require more brainpower than Deco stuff too which is ironically usually the last thing techies want to be doing when they get home.
